Tax Refund

Recently, I came across the following website. I suggest you check it out if you are a policy holder of Farmers Insurance Group or thinking about having them insure you in any capacity: www.farmersinsurancegroupsucks.com

The above link is for a company—Vision Forum—that provides unique products for the family. I am an affiliate for the company and receive a small commission whenever someone uses this link and then makes an unreturned purchase while using the link. Check it out. I think you might like the products offered. I do. See my more complete explanation on my post of February 1, 2008 entitled “Affiliate program with Vision Forum.”

Based upon past historical data: 3,287+ UNBORN BABY MURDERS have occurred in the last 24 hours in the United States. See my post “BABY HOLOCAUST” posted January 22, 2008.

Recently, I’ve been involved in a problem one of my clients has with Farmers Insurance Group. My previous posts in relation to this problem were:

I will not be continuing my Creationism posts today. I do plan to return to them soon.

Then, I plan to answer the response about Iraq. I am sorry for the change in plans. Plans, in reality, often are altered for one reason or another. “The best laid plans … often go astray.” Thank you for your understanding and patience.

How many unborn toddlers were murdered today because of the humanistic, paganish, barbaric decisions of the United States Supreme Court?

I’m back. It seems like years since I last wrote for the blog even though it has only been about a month and a half. I still have some amended tax returns to work on but I’m not so busy that I can’t start writing again.

I had planned to answer the comment in relation to the NIU post but am postponing it to my next post. In the meantime, I want to respond to an item I read in the paper. It was published on April 15, 2008, page C6 (Peoria Journal Star) but I only just read it.

The following was the concluding comment from “Annie’s Mailbox”—the advice column. “Annie’s snippet for income tax day (credit humorist F. J. Raymond): ‘Next to being shot at and missed, nothing is really quite as satisfying as an income tax refund.’”

Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! And that’s part of the problem. Consumers don’t seem to be very knowledgeable about economics.
What is a tax refund? Unless you are one of those people who receive a government handout for actually working—the earned income credit— or a credit for having children, a tax refund is nothing more than the federal government giving you back your own money. When you receive a refund, you are receiving back that which is yours and you have, in actuality, loaned money to the federal government interest free for a period of time. Wouldn’t it be better to save the money during the course of the year, earn interest on it, and then pay the federal government the money it is owed on the very last day?

That is what I recommend to all my clients. Unless I miscalculate, I always owe the federal government some tax money when I file. Never enough to pay a penalty; but owing some amount of money. Why allow the federal government to have control of more of your money than absolutely necessary?

Don,

(This is Kathleen Hill) I can't seem to find your exact email address. Could you write me back at kenz@trico.coop and remind me what your address is? Thanks! Also, I really like your blog. I read all about the Farmer's Insurance saga so far, and a few other articles. What an interesting story and great information. Do other people post comments here?
