Illegal immigration and Arizona

I’m changing direction again tonight. I heard on two radio talk shows on July 6, 2010 and radio news, that the federal government has filed suit against the State of Arizona because of its newly passed illegal immigration law which is not scheduled to become enforceable until the end of July. The federal government which is trillions of dollars in debt is now wasting more money suing the State of Arizona over a law that is based upon already enacted federal law. I also heard on a radio talk show—Sean Hannity—that according to a recent study, illegal immigration costs the United States of America $113 billion a year. Does it make sense to be suing the State of Arizona for trying to enforce federal law?

I also received two recent e-mails during with illegal immigration from a person who lives in Arizona. The e-mails did not identify the source of the comments so I can’t identify the author or authors. The e-mails:

“I’m a legal American citizen and I must show my ID (I think, “Must accurately identify myself” would be a more accurate characterization of the following—my addition.) when:

1) Pulled over by the police

2) Making purchases on my department store credit card.

3) When I show up for a doctor’s appointment.

4) When filling out a credit card or loan application.

5) When applying for or renewing a driver’s license or passport.

6) When applying for any kind of insurance.

7) When filling out college applications.

8) When donating blood.

9) When obtaining certain prescription drugs.

10) When making some debit purchases, especially if I’m out of state.

11) When collecting a boarding pass for airline or train travel.

I’m sure there are more instances, but the point is that we citizens of the USA are required to prove who we are nearly every day! Why should people in this country illegally, be exempt! Why do the people in Arizona get upset if they are asked to show their LEGAL ID?

Why shouldn’t we guard our borders as closely as every other country in the world does?

GO ARIZONA!”

“Had enough?

I hope this offends all illegal aliens.

My great grandfather watched as his friends died in the Civil War. My grandfather watched as his friends died in WW II, and Dad watched as his friends died in Korea and I watched as my friends died in Vietnam. None of them died for the Mexican Flag. Everyone died for the American flag.

Texas high school students raised a Mexican flag on a school flag pole, other students took it down. Guess who was expelled? The students who took it down.

California high school students were sent home on Cinco de Mayo, because they wore T-shirts with the American flag printed on them.

Enough is enough!

This message needs to be viewed by every American; and every American needs to stand up for America.

We’ve bent over to appease the America-haters long enough. I’m taking a stand!

I’m standing up because of the hundreds of thousands who died fighting in wars for this country, and for the American flag.

If you agree, stand up with me. If you disagree, please let me know. I will gladly remove you from my e-mail list.

And shame on anyone who tries to make this a racist message.

AMERICANS, stop giving away your RIGHTS!

Let me make this clear! THIS IS MY COUNTRY.

This statement DOES NOT mean I’m against immigration!

YOU ARE WELCOME HERE, IN MY COUNTRY, welcome to come LEGALLY:

1. Get a sponsor!

2. Learn the LANGUAGE, as immigrants have in the past!

3. Live by OUR rules!

4. Get a job! (Get a job legally—my addition.)

5. Pay YOUR Taxes!

6. No Social Security until you have earned it and paid for it!

7. NOW find a place to lay your head!

If you don’t want to forward this for fear of offending someone, then YOU’RE PART OF THE PROBLEM! We’ve gone so far the other way . . . bent over backwards not to offend anyone.

Only AMERICANS seems to care when American Citizens are being offended!

WAKE UP AMERICA”
