Democrat Party Mob Rule in the Texas Senate; Governor Calls for a Second Special Session

        


I sent the following e-mail to Governor Rick Perry this morning. He has already called another session to begin July 1. Senate Bill 5 should pass in this session. Encourage that result!

I moved to Texas earlier this month. I am a strong pro-life proponent who writes three daily blogs (Sundays excluded) one of which deals specifically with pro-life issues.

Given that the will of the people of the State of Texas was obstructed last night by a small but vocal minority, I urge you to call yet another special session to have the legislature complete the process of protecting women and saving the lives of unborn babies.

Furthermore, once S.B. 5 is passed and challenged in federal court by the advocates of the murder of unborn children, I implore that you, as the Governor of the sovereign State of Texas, and the Texas Attorney General demand that the Constitution of the United States be obeyed as written. Specifically, that said case begins in the Supreme Court as specifically required by the Constitution.

Article III, Section 2, ¶ 2

“In all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, and those in which a State shall be Party, the supreme Court shall have original Jurisdiction. In all the other Cases before mentioned, the supreme Court shall have appellate Jurisdiction, both as to Law and Fact, with such Exceptions, and under such Regulations as the Congress shall make.”

The specific relevant section:

“In all Cases … in which a State shall be Party, the supreme Court shall have original Jurisdiction.”

The States must demand that the Constitution be followed as written or the States are no more than provinces of a national system not envisioned by the authors of the Constitution. One reason why I decided to move to Texas is that I believe that Texas has both the will and the ability to stand up to an out-of-control federal government.
