It looks as if the vote on the DREAM ACT will probably happen tomorrow. We are asking that you read the following information and then take action by contacting your Senators and telling them to vote NO!
Harry Reid and Washington just do not get that this out of control spending has to stop.
We have to stand up and say NO! We are not going to take this anymore.

I included the material on Senator McCain because I had lived/voted in Arizona, I did NOT support him in the primary, Sarah Palin did (Losing any support I might have had for her in 2012!), and he was pro-amnesty; changed his position during the primary, and now seems to be heading back to being pro-amnesty. So much for John McCain! And indeed, Arizona did make a mistake by NOT defeating him in the primary.]
01) The DREAM Act is NOT limited to children, and it will be funded on the backs of hard working, law-abiding Americans.
02) The DREAM Act PROVIDES safe harbor for any alien, including criminals, from being removed or deported if they simply submit an application.
03) Certain criminal aliens will be eligible for amnesty under the DREAM Act.
04) Estimates suggest that at least 2.1 million illegal aliens will be eligible for the DREAM Act amnesty.
05) Illegal aliens will get in-state tuition benefits.
06) The DREAM Act does not require that an illegal alien finish any type of degree (vocational, two-year, or bachelor’s degree) as a condition of amnesty.
07) The DREAM Act does not require that an illegal alien serve in the military as a condition for amnesty, and there is ALREADY a legal process in place for illegal aliens to obtain U.S. citizenship through military service.
08) Despite their current illegal status, DREAM Act aliens will be given all the rights that legal immigrants receive, including the legal right to sponsor their parents and extended family members for immigration.
09) Current illegal aliens will get federal student loans, federal work study programs, and other forms of federal financial aid.
10) DHS (Department of Homeland Security, although with this administration the use of “Security” in the title with “Homeland” seems to be an oxymoron!—my addition) is prohibited from using the information provided by illegal aliens whose DREAM Act amnesty applications are denied to initiate their removal proceedings or investigate or prosecute fraud in the application process.
The time has come for us to step up and melt the phone lines. Let’s shut down the switchboard on Capitol Hill just like we did over healthcare.

On Monday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid confirmed his plan to repeal the law that prohibits open homosexuality in the military (which I will refer to as DADT) in this lame duck session of Congress.
And Senator Joe Lieberman is aggressively lobbying for the Senate to remain in session until DADT is addressed. There is so much at stake here that this plan MUST be stopped in the Senate NOW!
They defend us. We must stand for them!
Today, as we commemorate Pearl Harbor Day, my thoughts turn toward our soldiers—both the heroes who paid the ultimate price for our freedom in years past and those who stand in harms way today.
Yet, also today, many of our legislators are turning a tin ear toward those soldiers fighting on the front lines in Iraq and Afghanistan. The repeal of the ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ policy—and the 1993 foundational law which deemed homosexuality to be incompatible with military life—will greatly increase the pressure on those soldiers serving in combat zones.
According to the Pentagon’s own report issued last week to Congress, 67 percent of Marines and nearly 58 percent of Army soldiers in combat units say repeal of the DADT policy would have negative consequences on unit cohesion in the field or at sea.
How dare the Obama Administration and this shameful, ultraliberal Congress prioritize political correctness over the combat readiness and unit cohesion of our troops!
Less than 10 days to vote.
Congress is scheduled to adjourn on December 17th.
I am asking for a continuation of the Liberty Counsel team’s ACTION to stop this brazen support of the pro-homosexual agenda at the expense of our troops.

Political correctness is trumping troop retention, combat readiness, and unit cohesion.
In his oral report to Congress last week, Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, made two jarring statements. He said.
‘In fact, it may be the combat arms community that proves the most effective at managing this [repeal of DADT] change, disciplined as they are. It’s not only because our young ones are more tolerant (Misuse of this word, again—my addition.). It’s because they’ve got far more important things to worry about.’
Admiral Mullen, that is exactly the point! Do not impose radical social engineering on out troops at a time when they DO have ‘far more important things to worry about!’ (DO NOT impose RADICAL social engineering at any time. That’s not the purpose and function of the military!—my addition) Mullen continued.
‘Should repeal occur, some soldiers and Marines may want separate shower facilities. Some may ask for different berthing. Some may even quit the service.’
In other words, if you don’t agree with the policy, then look for another job!
Our troops would pay the price for this disastrous policy.
Defense Secretary Robert Gates threw more fuel on the fire when he added, ‘Plus, you have the reality that [our enlisted troops] can’t just up and leave.’ (But, they can! Are they going to court martial thousands of military men for opposing a SINFUL behavior?—my addition)
If DADT is repealed, our troops are held hostage under this policy until reenlistment time. Then what? Senator John McCain noted that the study of U.S. troops found that as many as 32 percent of Marines said they would leave the service earlier than planned rather than remain alongside openly homosexual troops.
Who will replace these highly trained soldiers in the theater of war? Will a new Draft begin?

The new Commandant of the Marine Corps, General James Amos, recently said that he was concerned about a loss of unit cohesion and combat readiness if the DADT policy is overturned.

Congress must not disregard a majority of Flag Officers!
The new Commandant of the Marine Corps, General James Amos, recently said that he was concerned about a loss of unit cohesion and combat readiness if the DADT policy is overturned.
‘Their message is that the potential exists for disruption to the successful execution of our current combat mission, should repeal be implemented at this time.’ (And they don’t care!—my addition)

I would be greatly remiss if I did not remind you that this initiative to attach the repeal of DADT to the 2011 Defense Appropriation Bill is even more radical than many know.

As part of this legislative package, attached is a ‘rider’ containing a provision to turn military hospitals and other medical facilities into abortion clinics—an underhanded way of further funding abortion with tax-payer money. (The Burris Amendment from our now retired appointed Senator to replace Barack Hussein Obama—my addition.)

“The Lame Ducks just don’t know when to quit. We’ve been warning you for months that before the Democrats leave town for the holidays that Senator Harry Reid was going to try one last giveaway to his union buddies. Tomorrow is the day he’s going to try and we need your help to stop him.
On Thursday the Senate will vote on S. 3194, the so-called ‘Public Employee-Employer Cooperation Act.’ Per usual, it has a wonderful name that is more or less the opposite of what the bill actually is: an unnecessary, expensive, and harmful bill that would force state and local governments to recognize union bosses as the exclusive bargaining agents for public-safety workers. (Why is this even an issue for the federal government?—my addition)

This bill is an unfunded mandate on state and local government that will force a higher tax burden at the state and local levels. It would strengthen public employee unions by forcing more workers into them when they are already strangling state and local governments fiscally. Shockingly, this bill would even force Right to Work states to unionize their public safety workforces.
Thankfully, all 42 Senate Republicans have promised to block any and all Lame Duck legislation until the looming tax hikes are fixed and government is funded. We need to remind them to stand by that commitment and tell the Democrats how egregious this union payoff really is.
