Was the Pro-Life Movement Responsible for Mitt Romney’s Loss?

Here is an opposing opinion from what I will say in this post. I disagree with it but include it because it is part of the mass media analysis, or lack thereof!

From: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/how-race-slipped-away-from-romney.html

“BOSTON—Mitt Romney is one of the wealthiest men ever to run for president. And yet the lack of money earlier this year stalled his campaign, and he never really recovered.

The GOP nominee emerged late last spring from a long and bruising Republican primary season more damaged than commonly realized. His image with voters had eroded as he endured heavy attacks from Republicans over his business record. He also felt compelled to take a hard line on immigration—one that was the subject of debate among his advisers—that hurt his standing with Hispanic voters (Not according to Rush Limbaugh today on his radio program!—my addition).

More than that, Mr. Romney had spent so much money winning the nomination that he was low on cash; aides, seeing the problem taking shape, had once considered accepting federal financing for the campaign rather than rely on private donations.”

Rush Limbaugh on yesterday’s program glossed over the number of votes received by Mitt Romney. Today, he emphasized its importance while not drawing specific conclusions why. (At least not while I was listening.) I think the vote totals are significant and am giving my reasons why they occurred. According to one story on Life News, I am wrong in relation to pro-life voters. However, I will stick with my analysis. I voted in the election but did not cast a vote in the Presidential election, since I had said I would not vote for Romney. I said it, in part, because I live in Illinois. If Romney would have carried Illinois, he would have won the election so convincingly that my vote would not have mattered. Illinois Democrats cheat! I listed Illinois as one of 5 States Obama would carry under almost any circumstance along with California, New York, Massachusetts, and Hawaii.

My analysis:

What happened?

I’ve been saying since I started writing a blog in 2005 that the three most important issues facing the nation are:

1) Stopping the MURDER of unborn babies

2) Stopping the SINFUL homosexual agenda

3) RESTORING the Constitution as written.

I have also argued that the economy WAS NOT the primary issue in this campaign. First, GOD-established morality is abandoned and then the economy falls apart, not the reverse. Further, I said we would have to flood the polling booths to win. Turn out was essential for victory as it always is in close elections.

So, what happened?

The end began at the beginning of the election. The establishment Republicans were determined to foist upon the Party yet another “moderate” (Republican In Name Only) Republican candidate for President. Changing the name of the candidate from John McCain to Mitt Romney. The conservatives had three candidates running while the “moderate” establishment overwhelmingly supported Romney who had their support, their money, and four plus years of running for the nomination since he also sought it in 2008. One by one the conservatives were forced to drop out. And the establishment Republicans got their way even though it was the conservatives who resurrected the Party from the ashes of the destructive 2008 election in the overwhelming victories of 2010. The Republicans reverted back to the old ways of Democratic-lite.

The Party convention had all the right words—PRO-LIFE, support for traditional marriage, restoring the Constitution as written. The problem was that those high sounding words didn’t translate into action. Mitt Romney seldom, if ever, discussed them on the campaign trail. The concern was the economy as if healing the economy would somehow heal the nation and all would be well. Meanwhile, the Democrats had no problem portraying themselves as the party of MURDER and “fairness” claiming a “war on women” was being waged by the Republicans and demanding “fairness” for homosexual perversion. The Democratic Party did not need to mention the Constitution since the Party had shredded the Constitution long ago.

Mitt Romney was not the candidate to support the three major issues. As governor of Massachusetts, he was a big government advocate pushing the original version of Obamacare including the individual mandate. He was pro-choice before he was pro-life. Even after his “conversion,” he allowed for the three exceptions of rape, incest, and to “save” the life of the mother which the PRO-MURDER set love to pounce upon. Although he was for traditional marriage, he also supported homosexual “rights” being in favor of civil unions (which IS marriage by another name), homosexuals openly serving in the military, and even said the Boy Scouts should allow homosexuals within its organization disregarding the obvious danger to the boys involved. (I said I would NOT vote for him because of his support for a large portion of the homosexual agenda!)

Then early in the general election campaign, the establishment Republicans including Mitt Romney demonstrated their real color—yellow. Pro-life Senatorial candidate Todd Akin did a poor job of conveying his pro-life position, which to his credit is pro-life without exception. The Democrats pounced on it but the establishment Republicans including Mitt Romney pounced even more ferociously! They made Todd Akin figuratively walk the plank with an anchor tied around his neck. And the Republican establishment told the pro-life movement that they cared NOT for saving the lives of MURDERED unborn babies. And right there, they lost a large segment of their needed support—pro-life people. The Republican establishment keeps telling the conservative element of the Party that once a candidate is selected we must support him even if he is too liberal for us. And yet, at the first opportunity, they automatically abandon any and all conservatives who have been perceived as doing something inappropriate or being too conservative. They did it in 2010 and they did it in 2012.

Note to the Republican establishment: We are TIRED of the one way street! Either you support ALL selected candidates or, as far as I’m concerned, it is time for a new conservative Party to replace the Democrat-lite establishment Republican Party! How about the Constitutional Federalist Party!

Here is a comparison of the Presidential votes received for the 2008 and 2012 elections.

From: Federal Election Commission 2008:

“Barack Obama (Democrat) 69,498,516 [52.93%]

John McCain (Republican) 59,948,323 [45.65%]”

2012: http://www.google.com/search?q=2012+presidential+election+results&rls=com.microsoft:en-us&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&startIndex=&startPage=1 Last Updated: Nov 8, 2012 1:05 PM

“Obama: 60,786,898

Romney: 57,895,155

Romney received over 2 million less votes than John McCain!

Bonus: According to the same above source

“House of Representatives:

Democrats: 193

Republicans: 233

Senate:

Democrats: 53

Republicans: 45”

(The Senate is a ridiculous result. The Democrats had 23 seats including Independents up for election. The Republicans 10 and the Republicans lost two seats! Three of the new Republicans for Texas, Arizona, and Nebraska are ALL conservatives! When will the establishment Republicans WAKE-UP!)

How could Mitt Romney receive fewer votes than John McCain? First, there were some Christians, I believe, that could not bring themselves to vote for a Mormon. As one of my elders said to me, “We have a fine choice for President. Either a Mormon or a Muslim!” I responded by saying that I thought Barack Hussein Obama was probably more of an atheist than a Muslim but the thought was the same. I have no doubt that being Mormon cost him votes that he would have otherwise received. Throw in the RINO aspect and he and the establishment Republicans throwing a pro-life candidate to the wolves and the result is a lower vote count than received by John McCain. Of course, there were other factors too but I believe these were the three major factors in the lower vote count. Include a Republican appointed Supreme Court Justice ruling in a 5-4 vote that the federal government may tax us for not doing something, the suppression of the military vote, Chicago style Democratic voter fraud (I’m hearing and reading of numerous examples—the Democrats stole two Senatorial seats in the 2008 election), and the buying of votes with government goodies and the results are in.

Is it all over? It may be for the Republican Party; it IS NOT for conservatives! We need to immediately regroup and charge into the 2014 elections with renewed vigor and DETERMINATION! We have lost a battle; NOT the WAR! With GOD all things are possible!!!

My answer to the above question of responsibility: Mitt Romney and the establishment Republicans are responsible for the loss! We need MORE not less Tea Party, socially conservative candidates and all the Party needs to back them. If not, I hear a new Party calling and I predict the demise of the old Republican Party—Democratic-lite!
