Pro-life advocates in Indiana are upset that the State of Indiana has given an award to the head of the Planned Parenthood abortion business, which was shown as willing to hide statutory rape in an undercover investigation a few years ago.
Indiana Right to Life is denouncing the giving of a Torchbearer Award, noted on the state’s web site as ‘the State of Indiana’s most prestigious recognition of women’, to the CEO of Indiana’s largest abortion business, Planned Parenthood’s Betty Cockrum. The honor was bestowed upon Cockrum on March 5 at an awards ceremony held at the Indiana Historical Society by the Indiana Commission for Women, a state commission established by an act of the legislature.
According to information IRTL provided LifeNews, Cockrum has managed Indiana’s Planned Parenthood operations since 2002, including its abortion operations in Merrillville, Lafayette, Indianapolis and Bloomington. The pro-life group estimates that Planned Parenthood has killed more than 50,000 unborn children by abortion in its Indiana abortion operations under Cockrum’s management.
‘We are outraged that the CEO of Indiana’s largest abortion operations has been given this honor,’ states Indiana Right to Life President and CEO Mike Fichter. ‘Planned Parenthood makes millions of dollars every year in Indiana by dismembering children piece-by-piece in the womb. When did Indiana begin to honor people for overseeing the killing of children? History will show this to be a tragic, embarrassing and foolish recognition by the State of Indiana.’
Fichter said that, during Cockrum’s time at Planned Parenthood of Indiana, the state of Indiana has paid millions of dollars in legal fees to the ACLU and others in fighting the never-ending suits Planned Parenthood has brought against the state. In 2005, Planned Parenthood under Cockrum refused to comply with a request by Attorney General Steve Carter to turn over records of 73 girls under the age of 14 as part of a state investigation into Medicaid fraud.
This is the same Planned Parenthood abortion business that was forced to suspend an employee after a video showed the staffer covering up a girl’s statutory rape. A UCLA student posed as a 13-year old girl who had sexual relations with a 31-year-old man.
On tape, the Planned Parenthood nurse acknowledges her responsibility to report the abuse, but assures the student, Lila Rose, she will not.

‘Okay, I didn’t hear the age [of the 31-year-old]. I don’t want to know the age,’ she tells Rose.
The nurse then instructs Rose how to obtain a secret abortion by crossing state lines in order to avoid Indiana’s parental consent law and she coaches Rose on how to cover for the 31-year-old man by saying he is only 14.
She urges Rose to tell the out-of-state abortion center, ‘You’ve seen him around, you know he’s 14, he’s in your grade and whatever. You know what I mean.’

The idea of giving such an award to the CEO of a Planned MURDERHOOD organization is just incredulous! Even if Planned MURDERHOOD has an impeccable record, the primary purpose of the organization is to MURDER innocent babies! Moreover, in all likelihood, over half of all those MURDERS are perpetrated on females! And the State is giving an award to the head of such a barbaric, immoral organization! What were they thinking? Let’s make our State look like a supporter of the wanton MURDER of innocent children!

This is my two part suggestion to Tea Party groups, social conservatives, Constitutionalists, and anyone else who wants to save our Republic from the approaching destruction.
1) Run as many conservative candidates in as many Republican primaries as possible.
2) Then, run as many independent and/or third party candidates as possible in as many races as possible where we did not win the primary.

Competition is good for the economy and competition is good for the Republican Party!!! Competition keeps Congressmen committed to we the people!!! Primary Republicans who do not support the Constitution as written.
