Early voting begins October 12th and runs through October 28th. I personally don’t like early voting. The idea was to increase voter participation. It has not. What does increase participation are issues and competition. For an off year election, expect participation to be higher than normal. In my area, not so much because of competition but because of issues. In other areas, because of both issues and competition.
Because of early voting, I’m going to highlight the Illinois governor and Senate races today. The following information is from “Illinois Family Institute—2010, Voter Guide, Illinois General Election”
The Governor candidates as listed in the material are:

I said even before the Illinois primary began that I will NOT support Mark Kirk. And I am NOT! Although I don’t like qualified answers, since a Senator can not give a qualified vote on a bill, by far, the candidate which comes closest to my position is that of Libertarian Mike Labno. Therefore, my support goes to Mike Labno for Senator from Illinois.
