MADISON, Wis. (AP)—Wisconsin’s polarizing union rights law will take effect thanks to a sharply divided ruling by the state Supreme Court (According to another account, the vote unsurprisingly was along party lines. Remember how frantically the left tried to win the Supreme Court candidate election!— my addition) that determined a judge overstepped her authority when she voided the governor’s plan to strip most public workers of their collective bargaining rights.
The ruling Tuesday evening was a major victory for Republican Gov. Scott Walker, who said the law was needed to help address the state’s $3.6 billion budget shortfall. His proposal—which drew tens of thousands of demonstrators to the state Capitol for weeks earlier this year—thrust Wisconsin to the forefront of a national debate over labor rights.
In a 4-3 decision that included a blistering dissent, the Supreme Court ruled that Dane County Circuit Judge Maryann Sumi overstepped when she declared the law void last month. Sumi sided with a lawsuit that claimed Republicans didn’t provide proper public notice of a meeting that helped get the original legislation approved after Democratic senators fled the state to prevent a vote.”
“In vacating Sumi's ruling, the Supreme Court ruled the judge had ‘usurped the legislative power which the Wisconsin Constitution grants exclusively to the legislature.’ The court also rejected arguments that Republicans violated Wisconsin’s open meetings law.
‘The doors of the Senate and Assembly were kept open to the press and members of the public ... access was not denied,’ according to the majority opinion.”

Governor Scott Walker has just won a huge victory as the Wisconsin State Supreme Court has ruled by a 4-3 margin to reinstate Gov. Scott Walker’s collective bargaining reform law that had been blocked by a lower court activist judge.
And this victory came about because of YOU! You helped us ensure that a conservative majority remained on the Court, one that is guided by the Constitution and not liberal judicial activism. Thank you so much for all that you did to help us win that Supreme Court battle in Wisconsin, it has truly paid off.
But as our friends at The Campaign to Defeat Obama have been warning everyone about, next month there are six (6) RECALL campaigns that will be waged against Republican State Senators in Wisconsin, organized by MoveOn.org, Barack Obama’s campaign activists and labor union bosses.
If the leftists win just three (3) of the RECALLs they will take control of the legislature and be able to block Gov. Walker’s efforts completely. So we must defeat ALL six of those RECALLs!!
The radical Left calls their campaign ‘Taking Back Wisconsin’ and that’s exactly what they will do if they are successful: they will put liberals back in control of Wisconsin.
Most Conservative and Republican leaders have not been paying attention to this race up until now and that’s why we so urgently need your help.
In one week MoveOn.org has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars. Now we in the Tea Party movement must raise the money to fight back and WIN!
