Our Letter to Congress
In order to achieve reforms of this magnitude, Congress must do everything possible to eliminate the uncertainty surrounding Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner’s August 2 deadline. Congress cannot negotiate with a clear mind if the administration is constantly invoking the specter of default. As Heritage Foundation economist J.D. Foster, Ph.D. points out:
Both immediately and long after it reaches the debt limit, the government would have far more than enough revenue coming in that the Secretary of the Treasury could use to pay interest on the debt. Nor would preserving the current debt limit put at risk the full faith and credit of the United States government, as the President’s chief economic adviser has claimed. The government would continue to pay net interest as it comes due.
In the event that liberals will not allow us to raise the debt ceiling because they cannot stomach substantive, systemic changes to put the country back on sound footing, conservatives must develop a responsible plan. Congress must exercise their constitutional power of the purse, building upon the framework of the Toomey-McClintock legislation, and prioritize federal spending.”

compromise proposal:
1) The Balance Budget Amendment is dropped!
2) BEFORE ANY raising of the debt ceiling, Congress passes and the President signs a 2011-2012 fiscal year budget!
3) Federal income tax on ALL business income—sole proprietorship, partnerships, corporations of all types—will end in the 2011-2012 fiscal year budget. Only individual income will be taxed when distributed to individuals.
4) Spending WILL be cut in the 2011-2012 fiscal year budget so that the increase in the national debt for the fiscal year WILL BE NO MORE THAN ½ trillion dollars. Repeating: Deficit spending WILL BE NO MORE THAN ½ TRILLION DOLLARS.
5) For the fiscal year 2012-2013 budget which begins on October 1, 2012, deficit spending WILL BE NO MORE THAN ½ TRILLION DOLLARS.
6) In return, the debt ceiling will be raised by NO MORE THAN ½ TRILLION DOLLARS till October 1, 2012. Before the beginning of the 2012-2013 fiscal year budget, IF the national debt has NOT increased by more than ½ TRILLION DOLLARS, the debt ceiling will be raised another ½ TRILLION DOLLARS for the fiscal 2012-2013 budget year. If NOT, the debt ceiling will NOT be raised.
7) Let the 2012 election determine the fiscal direction of the country.

Some will say, ‘Lloyd, if your purpose is to inspire Republicans to stand strong in the debt ceiling debate, why on earth would you choose the battle at the Alamo which the good guys, the Texans, lost?’
The battle at the Alamo is the birthplace of Texas liberty. Approximately 250 Texans died fighting for their freedom against the 1500 man Mexican army. The Texans held the Mexicans at bay for 12 days before being massacred on the 13th day.
What I find so inspiring about the battle is the Texans knew they were going to die. And yet, they knew the time had come to draw a line in the sand taking a stand for freedom.
With Bill O'Reilly leading the charge, pundits and Washington elites advise Republicans to surrender to Obama’s irresponsible desire to raise the debt ceiling and raise taxes.
These smartest guys in the room say, ‘Obama has the polls and the media on his side. So, why go down in defeat.’ (Obama does NOT have the polls on his side—NOT polls that are accurate!! And the mass media is irrelevant since they always support him!—my addition)
Well I say, the Republicans must not allow fear, skewed polls and an ill-informed public to prevent them from doing what is best for America. The time has come for Republicans to draw a line in the sand; take a stand by fighting the tyranny of out of control, self serving vote manufacturing and insane government spending.
Thank God we have tea party freshmen who are standing on principle and saying ‘no’ to bankrupting the future of generations.
Here is how deep in the hole we are. Let’s suppose congress ceased all spending today and began making payments of 100 million dollars per day on our national debt. It would take us 389 years to pay off our national debt. Can you see how adding to our debt would be insane?

And yet, O’Reilly and company advise the Republicans to compromise to save themselves. Such behavior is not character driven leadership. To the Republicans, I say, ‘Remember the Alamo! Take a stand for freedom!’
Unlike the Texans, I do not believe the Republicans will be massacred. The informational highway has changed dramatically since 1995 when the liberal media successfully blamed the government shutdown on the Republicans.

As for President Barack Hussein Obama’s so called appeal for compromise. How much compromise occurred between Republicans and Democrats when the Democrats pushed through Obamacare with blatant bribes to Democrats who were concerned about losing their seat? To compromise with the present President is to capitulate to socialism!!! Ask Bart Stupak how well caving to Barack Hussein Obama worked out!!!
