Selling beer and wine in Morton—a response to a Christian

My book—The Black Sword: The Secret U.S. Army in Vietnam—is available by mail (not yet in book stores). See post on July 31, 2008 entitled The Black Sword.

I suggest you check out the following website if you are a policy holder of Farmers Insurance Group or thinking about having them insure you in any capacity: www.farmersinsurancegroupsucks.com

The above link is for a company—Vision Forum—that provides unique products for the family. I am an affiliate for the company and receive a small commission whenever someone uses this link and then makes an unreturned purchase while using the link. Check it out. I think you might like the products offered. I do. See my more complete explanation on my post of February 1, 2008 entitled “Affiliate program with Vision Forum.”

Based upon past historical data: 3,287+ UNBORN BABY MURDERS have occurred in the last 24 hours in the United States. See my post “BABY HOLOCAUST” posted January 22, 2008.

I’ve been involved in a problem one of my clients has with Farmers Insurance Group. My previous posts in relation to this problem were:

I will not be continuing my Creationism posts today. I do plan to return to them soon.

Then, I plan to answer the response about Iraq. I am sorry for the change in plans. Plans, in reality, often are altered for one reason or another. “The best laid plans … often go astray.” Thank you for your understanding and patience.

How many unborn toddlers were murdered today because of the humanistic, paganish, barbaric decisions of the United States Supreme Court?

For the readers information: This morning, August 13, 2008, I hand delivered copies of the following posts from my blog to the Village Hall for each of the six Trustees: 1) Tuesday, July 22, 2008: Letter to the editor for mayor’s proposal to sell beer and wine 2) Wednesday, August 6, 2008: Selling beer and wine in Morton—the ordinance & the amendments 3) Friday, August 8, 2008: Selling beer and wine in Morton—Letter to Lindy’s Food owner 4) Saturday, August 9, 2008: Selling beer and wine in Morton—the mayor’s newspaper interview and 5) my planned post for August 18—early Monday morning: Selling beer and wine in Morton—reap what you sow.

Tonight’s post:

Since I began posting on the Morton mayor’s proposal to amendment the Village Code to allow grocery stores to sale beer and wine, I have received eight comments so far (if I counted correctly) in relation to the posts. Seven have been negative. One was positive. Tonight, the positive comment:

Mr. Vance,

BRAVO!!! I had the pleasure of reading your letter to the editor in the July 30th Morton “Courier”; and all I can say is that I, as a fellow believer in the LORD GOD, said ‘amen’ all the way through. I had also been very disturbed at learning of our illustrious mayor’s decision regarding stocking booze in our grocery stores here in town. My husband and I plan to attend the next meeting of the village board and state our concerns also.

It would be our pleasure to meet a man of such bold convictions who is, obviously not afraid to be ‘salt’ and light in this dark world. Our prayers are with you—keep on keeping on!

Thank you! As a Christian, I believe it is our responsibility to speak out when the situation calls for it. Unfortunately, there have been times in the past when I have not. It was not until an intense study of Acts that I understood that we must speak out as our silence may indicate acceptance of that which is not acceptable. In Acts, the early Christians were identified as BOLDLY proclaiming GOD’S truth. That is true, in the beginning of the book, in the middle of the book, and at the end of the book even during times of intense persecution. If Christians won’t speak up for truth, morality, and righteousness, who will?

With GOD’S help, as the apostle Paul wrote “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4: 13 (NIV) And if Christians will allow GOD to lead instead of trying to do it on our own, we can accomplish great things for HIS kingdom. Thank you especially for your prayers. We need to pray for one another.

I do plan to be at the Monday meeting on the 18th. Prayerfully, the Trustees will reach a decision that is in accordance with GOD’S WORD. Thank you again for your positive and uplifting comments. They are greatly appreciated.

In the name of the ONE TRUE GOD and HIS SON—JESUS
