Joe Miller, Alaska Senate candidate needs our help

I received the following three e-mails yesterday.

This is one of the MOST important elections in 2010 for, at least, the following reasons:

1) The Senate needs as many Constitutional conservatives as possible to prevent the continued appointments of judicial activist judges and Justices. Joe Miller is more likely to reject such activists than are either of the other two candidates.

2) Constitutional conservatives have successfully bucked RINO Republicans in the primary. However, if the general election is not also won, the primary victory will be basically meaningless. And RINO Republicans will parrot that Lisa Murkowski would have won the general. Never mind that her running would be the reason for the Joe Miller loss.

3) A Lisa Murkowski victory in the general election will only work to encourage other RINO Republicans who lose in future primaries to ran as an independent or as a write-in candidate. Every RINO who refuses to accept defeat in a primary NEEDS to be/MUST be defeated in the General Election as does the running Democrat.

4) Every victory by Constitutional conservatives increases our ability to win future elections and to influence and impact issues. Success breeds success.

5) Pro-life candidates need to be elected at every opportunity.

“We’ve always been straightforward with you about the status of the races for tea party candidates—both when things are good, and when they are not so good.

In Alaska problems are emerging.

First a new poll shows the race is getting close between conservative Republican Joe Miller and liberals Lisa Murkowski (Independent) and Scott McAdams (Democrat). Here are the results from a new CFG Poll:

Joe Miller (R): 33%

Lisa Murkowski (I): 31%

Scott McAdams (D): 27%

The other troubling developments are the FEC reports which show Democrat Scott McAdamas has raised $685,000—which means he has a chance to raise his poll numbers even higher. And, as we reported yesterday, a liberal ‘Super PAC’ is dumping $600,000+ into an ad blitz supporting Lisa Murkowski and attacking Joe Miller.

Friends, we worked too hard, spent too much money, and accomplished what many thought was unthinkable in helping Joe Miller win the Republican nomination for Senate in Alaska. We can’t let that all go to waste and lose this race.

Please help us fight back for Joe Miller by making a contribution to this campaign online—HERE.

Lisa Murkowski has sunk to a new low. She is now relying on a new liberal ‘Super PAC’ that is dumping $600,000 into the Alaska Senate race, smearing Joe Miller and urging voters to ‘write in’ Lisa Murkowski’s name on the ballot.

They have a new anti-Joe Miller TV ad ….

Joe Miller is one of the best and brightest constitutional conservatives running for U.S. Senate in the 2010 elections. We must get him elected, and similarly we must defeat failed, corrupt politicians like Lisa Murkowski.

Please, help us fight back. If you can give $50, $100, $500, $1,000 or more (up to the maximum allowed contribution of $5,000 per individual) to our campaign supporting Joe Miller, we can overcome the dirty tricks of Lisa Murkowski’s campaign. Contribute online—HERE.

“Dear Fellow Conservative:

I’m writing to ask for your help in the Alaska Senate race. As you know, conservative Joe Miller is working hard to replace liberal Republican Lisa Murkowski. He defeated her in the Republican primary but then she decided to run as an independent write-in candidate.

The stakes could not be higher. If we don’t work together right now, Lisa Murkowski could use her high name identification and the dynamics of this three-way race to hold on to a Senate seat she feels entitled to keep.

The Republican primary election between Miller and Murkowski came down to just a handful of votes. We cannot take anything for granted and must keep working until the very end.

Alaska voters need to know about the choice in this election. They need to know that Joe Miller is the only candidate in this race who will stand up to the big spenders in both political parties. He’s the only one who will fight to secure the future for our children and grandchildren.

Joe Miller is a highly qualified candidate who deserves our full support. A graduate of West Point, Yale Law School and the University of Alaska, he was awarded the Bronze Star while serving in the U.S. Army during the Gulf War. He will fight to stop wasteful Washington spending, to repeal President Obama's government-run health care, and to block the cap-and-trade energy tax.

Joe Miller supports balanced budgets, constitutional limits, and individual liberty. He knows that the principles of freedom will restore America’s greatness.

Please make a secure, online contribution today to the Senate Conservatives Fund so we can make sure Joe Miller wins this critical race.

Here are a few things Alaska voters need to know about Senator Murkowski before they reward her with six more years:

1) In the last Congress, Lisa Murkowski sponsored 68 bills to increase spending by over $21 billion a year, but she didn’t introduce a single spending cut.

2) Lisa Murkowski supported the cap-and-trade energy tax that would skyrocket electric rates and the cost of home heating.

3) Lisa Murkowski voted for a taxpayer bailout of Wall Street banks, and then took thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from the same banks she bailed out.

4) Lisa Murkowski voted to increase taxpayer funded spending on Congress and its staff.

These actions run contrary to the interests of Alaskans as well as all Americans. We have an opportunity to replace her with a principled leader but time is running out. There are just three weeks to go until Election Day and we need to act now.

I know you’re getting a number of fundraising requests, but this Senate race is extremely important. We need to raise $100,000 by the end of the week to order airtime before it's too late.

Please make a contribution of $25, $50, $100, or even $1,000 to the Senate Conservatives Fund today.

Thank you for your continued support and encouragement. Together, we can win this race and take back our country.

Respectfully,

Jim DeMint
United States Senator
Chairman, Senate Conservatives Fund

P.S. Time in running short and we need your help to make sure conservative Joe Miller defeats liberal Lisa Murkowski. Please make a contribution to the Senate Conservatives Fund today so we can run the ads needed to win this critical race.”
