The Issue
Thanks to Nancy Pelosi, more than $105 billion in taxpayer funds are automatically appropriated to implement ObamaCare. Unless Congress takes action to actively stop this funding, ObamaCare will be implemented.
The key debate over ObamaCare funding right now centers on the Continuing Resolutions (CR) to fund the government for the rest of this fiscal year. Reps. Steve King (R-IA) and Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) are spearheading an effort to oppose any CR that fails to strip out the automatic $105 billion in ObamaCare spending that Nancy Pelosi wrote into the law. ‘We cannot successfully defund ObamaCare without shutting off these automatically appropriated funds,’ said King.
The Action
In response to the declared wishes of our grassroots network, Grassfire Nation has launched this petition to give citizens an opportunity to voice their opinion on the effort to defund and repeal ObamaCare. As a concerned citizen, I am signing this petition to show my support for the repeal and dismantling of the 2010 health care reform law (The Patient Protection And Affordable Care Act). I ardently oppose any government interference in my personal and private health care decisions. ObamaCare is an affront to the ideals and values outlined in the U.S. Constitution. I also urge Congress to defund all aspects of the ObamaCare legislation until it is purged from our laws.”
Note: After the “petition” is signed the site asks for money to send FAXs to the Senators. I didn’t.
