Barack Hussein Obama on Raising the Debt Ceiling in 2006
According to news reports Sunday night, a debt ceiling deal has been reached. I don’t know the details of the new deal and therefore will not comment on it. If it passes, I may comment then. I believe it is important, however, to post comments that then Senator Barack Hussein Obama made in relation to raising the debt ceiling in 2006 when George Bush was President. These comments should be used against him in his 2012 reelection because he has made a 180 degree change, if he actually believed what he said in 2006. With Barack Hussein Obama, his version of the truth seems to change based upon his position/audience at the time!

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies.
Over the past 5 years, our federal debt has increased by $3.5 trillion to $8.6 trillion. That is ‘trillion’ with a ‘T.’ That is money that we have borrowed from the Social Security trust fund, borrowed from China and Japan, borrowed from American taxpayers. And over the next 5 years, between now and 2011, the President’s budget will increase the debt by almost another $3.5 trillion.
(Actually, after the Democrats regained control of Congress with the 2006 election and using his own figure of $8.6 trillion compared to the present $14.3 trillion debt limit now being raised by the new deal, the debt ceiling has been raised by $5.7 trillion with Democrats in control of Congress! That is $2.2 trillion MORE than projected by the Bush budgets!!! Presidential budget projections are just that! Congress is responsible for the budgets passed by the federal government!!!—my addition)
Numbers that large are sometimes hard to understand. (They certainly seem hard to understand NOW by President Barack Hussein Obama!!!—my addition) Some people may wonder why they matter. Here is why: This year, the Federal Government will spend $220 billion on interest. That is more money to pay interest on our national debt than we’ll spend on Medicaid and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program. That is more money to pay interest on our debt this year than we will spend on education, homeland security, transportation, and veterans benefits combined. It is more money in one year than we are likely to spend to rebuild the devastated gulf coast in a way that honors the best of America.
And the cost of our debt is one of the fastest growing expenses in the Federal budget. This rising debt is a hidden domestic enemy, robbing our cities and States of critical investments in infrastructure like bridges, ports, and levees; robbing our families and our children of critical investments in education and health care reform; robbing our seniors of the retirement and health security they have counted on.
Every dollar we pay in interest is a dollar that is not going to investment in America’s priorities.

There is NOTHING in the Constitution that grants authority to the federal government to spend money for education or to build sidewalks for a city or to do a lot of other things that the federal government is NOW doing! If the federal government would stop spending money in unauthorized areas, balancing the federal budget would be much easier and would not CORRUPT the behavior of so many within the United States. IT IS TIME TO STOP SPENDING!!! IT IS TIME TO DRASTICALLY CUT THE FEDERAL BUDGET!!!
