Senator Ted Cruz Wins Value Voters Summit for President Overwhelmingly

There is an election for a U.S. Senate seat going on today in New Jersey.

Update: Heard on the 7PM ABC radio news the other day that according to a just released poll about 50% of those polled disapprove of how President Obama is handling the shut down. About 60% disapprove of Democrats handling and about 70% of the Republicans handling. Of course, they never give the questions asked so it is impossible to knew if the questions were slanted. Plus, I don’t trust anything that comes from the mainstream media when it come to polls or anything else for that matter.

That said, I’ve been hearing about the poll all day. The 7PM report was the first time they also said that ‘even conservative Republicans disapproved of the Republicans handling of it by a 59% margin.’ And I immediately said, of course! And that is why the Republican figure is higher than the other two. As a conservative Republican, I do not like President Obama’s handling of it and of the Democrats handling of it. I also do not like the Republicans handling of it but for a very different reason. I don’t think they should have compromised down from defunding to delaying. Now, I’ll take delaying over funding. But, we should have stayed with defunding throughout. And that friends is why the Republican number is so high. Democrats don’t like the Republican position because they want funding. And conservative Republicans don’t like the Republican position because we want DEFUNDING! That said, I urge ALL Republicans to stand firm on delaying! Those who do not will be primaried!!! Competition is good for the economy and competition is good for the Republican Party!!! Competition keeps Congressmen committed to we the people!!!

The 2,200-plus who joined the 8^th annual Values Voter Summit sent a strong message to the Washington establishment over the weekend by showing their support of Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in the 2013 Value Voters Summit Presidential Straw Poll. Cruz finished first with 42 percent of the votes cast.

Dr. Ben Carson finished in second place at 13 percent, with only one vote separating him from former Senator Rick Santorum. Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) came in fourth, with Senator Marco Rubio (R-Florida) right behind at six and five percent respectively.

Dr. Carson won the vice presidential straw poll, with 21 percent of votes cast. Senator Cruz came in second with 17 percent and Representative Michele Bachmann (R-Minnesota) was third with nine percent of the vote.

Over 2,200 people were registered for the eighth annual Values Voter Summit. Only Family Research Council Action members who were present at the event were allowed to vote.

Senator Cruz’s strong showing was not only a reflection of an exceptional speech to the values delegates on Friday morning (in which he totally dismantled the intended disruptions of at least a half dozen unruly protestors) but a tangible way for values voters to express support for his courageous leadership.

When you look at the complete VVS presidential poll results, what is evident is that conservative, Republican-leaning voters are looking for—and will get behind—true leaders who refuse to be bound by the ‘we can’t’ mentality of the establishment and will challenge the status quo (And who are pro-life and pro-traditional family!—my addition). They want a leader who will speak and act with clarity in challenging the freedom-sapping policies of President Obama (Absolutely!—my addition). One would think this would be self-evident to GOP leaders after losing once again in 2012 when so many conservative, Republican leaning voters stayed home after not connecting with the GOP’s candidate (While being told to stay home!—my addition).

The Obama Administration is spending money to block access to the World War II Memorial, using veterans as pawns as he works to save the abortion-pill mandate.

The World War II Memorial is open-air and open 24 hours a day, but the Obama Administration brought in forklifts, barricades, and security to shut it down.

President Obama would rather block World War II vets from their memorial than delay his individual mandate for even one year or give up on his abortion-pill mandate.
