Based upon past historical data: 3,287+ UNBORN BABY MURDERS have occurred in the last 24 hours in the United States. See my post “BABY HOLOCAUST” posted January 22, 2008.

I’ve been involved in a problem one of my clients has with Farmers Insurance Group. My previous posts in relation to this problem were:

I will not be continuing my Creationism posts today. I do not plan to get to them until after the general election in November.

I do plan to discuss Iraq before the election. I am sorry for the change in plans. Plans, in reality, often are altered for one reason or another. “The best laid plans … often go astray.” Thank you for your understanding and patience.

How many unborn toddlers were murdered today because of the humanistic, paganish, barbaric decisions of the United States Supreme Court?

“Standing Up for Sarah Palin

In my humble opinion (and as a mother of teenagers), there are decisions that our teens make that do not reflect our values or what we have been trying to instruct them to do. So, I do not think that we can place any blame on Sarah Palin for a teenager who has obviously made a decision that is not in line with the values that Gov. Palin might have.

Furthermore, one must give credit to the young lady for taking responsibility and having the baby and deciding to marry the baby’s father. While this is not an ideal situation, and they will quickly find out that being a parent is a lot harder than it looks, it is probably the best that can come out of it.

And, of course, we must keep in mind that there are plenty of teenage parents who grow up rather quickly and raise wonderful families.

I reject the argument that I have heard from some women (on this morning’s talk shows) that Gov. Palin should not be working or running for VP with this situation in her family. And some feel that as a mother of five, especially one with Down’s Syndrome, her first duty should be at home. First, this argument would never even be brought up if she were a man. (Note that we have had several young families in the White House, and this has never been an issue.) Second, it appears that Gov. Palin has plenty of support, including the support of her husband. Third, I think the VP’s budget has room for a nanny or two for Gov. Palin’s young children. And finally, it is obvious that this young lady is making her own decisions already and needs to learn that in the adult world, you take responsibility for your own actions—your mother doesn’t do it for you.

As most of us who have teenagers know, there is a time when you must let them make their own way. We can love them and support them, and we should. But in the end, they are on the brink of adulthood and must make their own life. If women took the route that we stop working anytime we have a family or a family issue, we would all be barefoot and in the kitchen our entire lives. I hope that we have come a long way from that notion.

I note that when Joe Biden was raising his young sons who had just lost their mother in a tragic accident, his fellow senators urged him to stay in the Senate rather than stay at home with his children. When a man is involved, it appears that the American public hails it as ‘heroic’ that he put in a full day’s work, took a 3 hour round trip train ride, and somehow raised his young motherless sons while working. But when a woman is involved, she is called ‘unfit’ and ‘selfish’ to have a career and children.

And John Edwards somehow did not see a problem in being president while having a wife with terminal cancer—which, in the grand scheme of things, is far more a compelling reason not to run for president. Having to make a decision whether to tend to a wife in her last days or tend to a world crisis—that is simply not realistic.

Since there are no perfect people in the world, it will be difficult to find one to run for office. The most we can hope for are candidates who face life’s challenges and their own shortcomings, with wisdom and grace and a sense of humbleness.

And this time, for the first time in many years, I think that our presidential and VP choices—both Republican and Democrats—are decent folks, although they may have very different views of how to solve our problems.

Every once in a great while, I feel like I am in front of the TV set watching history in the making. Last night was one of those nights.

The first history-making moment was listening to one of the Washington Post’s female talking heads, who, despite her employer’s well known liberal leaning bent, unbelievably announced to the world that Sarah Palin had no business running for Vice President with five children, especially one with Down’s Syndrome, and then announced that, with a pregnant teenage daughter, Gov. Palin would soon be raising a sixth. My jaw nearly dropped to the floor. This so-called liberal just admitted that, no, women really can’t handle the pressure that men can and we should just stay home. Further, her view was that young mothers automatically can be counted on to dump their children on their own mother’s doorstep to raise instead of stepping up to the plate and assuming that responsibility.

In so doing, that liberal talking head set women back 100 years. Perhaps she should also recommend that the country withdraw women’s right to vote, as that may be too much on our plate to juggle as well.

And then Sarah Palin made history with the speech of the century. There were some doubters who wondered whether she could pull it off. I wasn’t one of them.

When a woman has the poise of a beauty queen, the charm of Miss Congeniality, the goodwill and humbleness of growing up in a small town, the aim of a sharpshooter, the integrity to take on the corrupt establishment, the self-reliance and independence of an Alaskan, the wisdom of a mother of five, the grounded values of a person of faith, the core of steel to bring a Down’s Syndrome baby into this world while being pregnant as the governor of the largest state geographically in the country, the resilience to deal with a daughter’s teenage pregnancy, the good sense to marry a good man and a supportive husband, and the openness of heart to welcome her soon-to-be son-in-law into the Palin family and onto the RNC stage—well, delivering a good speech just doesn’t seem that hard in comparison.

Sarah Palin is the female version of a modern day Teddy Roosevelt. This woman is a rock upon which voters can safely place their trust.

As for that little matter of her ex-brother-in-law, I say she was right on. The Anchorage Daily News reported (July 27, 2008) that he used a taser on his stepson while the boy’s mother was upstairs yelling at him not to. He also illegally shot and killed a moose without a license (a criminal misdemeanor).

Additional disturbing incidents included: several reports that he was drinking and driving—even while he was in his squad car; threatening to kill his father-in-law if his father-in-law hired an attorney to help protect his daughter in her divorce proceedings (apparently not a crime in Alaska because the threat was not made directly to his father-in-law, only to his wife); intimidating and threatening his wife; and having a domestic violence protective order obtained against him.

In addition, this ex-brother-in-law/state trooper has been married and divorced four times and is only 35 years old (a clear sign that he either makes lousy choices in women, or he is a lousy choice as a husband—I’ll place my bets on the latter). In short, the guy is bully with a gun—and he’s not afraid to use it. This is yet another case of domestic abuse which has been swept under the rug and ignored. Of course his union says he is a good cop—what else would they say?

I am not sure about the rest of the working people of America, but I can bet that most people would be fired on the spot if they took even one of these actions, much less all of them—especially if their job was to uphold and enforce the law. If his supervisor did not have the intestinal fortitude to stand up to the union and fire a bad cop, then someone with a lot more courage should.

Good for Sarah Palin—and good for John McCain for bringing this incredible woman to the national stage.

As I wrote previously, I don’t mind attacks by the Democrats or the liberal mass media on Governor Palin. I think it will do more good than harm. Have the mass media attacked Senator Biden at all? Do Democrats realize that Senator Biden questioned if Barack Obama is ready to be President? It demonstrates their biases and it demonstrates that they are concerned that she might, indeed, bring votes to the Republican ticket. Therefore, keep attacking her! It can only help!
