I will not be continuing my Creationism posts today. I do not plan to get to them until after the general election in November.
I do plan to discuss Iraq before the election. I am sorry for the change in plans. Plans, in reality, often are altered for one reason or another. “The best laid plans … often go astray.” Thank you for your understanding and patience.
How many unborn toddlers were murdered today because of the humanistic, paganish, barbaric decisions of the United States Supreme Court?

Wake-up America!!! Who ultimately is in control—GOD or man? Who determines right and wrong—GOD or man? Who controls the weather—GOD or man? Who determines righteousness and sin—GOD or man? Who controls our economy—GOD or man? Who defines good and evil—GOD or man? Who controls what happens to the United States of America—GOD or man?
As a Christian, I believe that there are three crucial issues in this Presidential election. Tonight, part four of a discussion on what I consider to be the number one issue of the campaign: The MURDER of the unborn—one of the most if not the most immoral, profane, debasing actions a person can take against another person.
The following is a post I wrote on January 31, 2008. I think it is worth repeating tonight in relation to the MURDER of UNBORN babies and this election since it demonstrates the “thought process” of one person who supports the MURDER of UNBORN babies. It seems the writer does not recognize any moral aspects to the MURDER of UNBORN babies. The original post:
The following letter to the editor was entitled “Uneducated opinion.” As far as I know the Peoria Journal Star staff titles the letters. At least the letters I send in that are published are titled by them.
“After reading Cal Thomas’ Jan. 20 column (‘Roe v. Wade a reflection of our moral decay’), I was shocked that a man educated enough to construct a well-written essay could have such an uneducated, one-sided opinion on abortion.
I’m glad that there are still Americans who care about the issues, but this severely skewed article is another example of how narrow-minded the American people have become.
Thomas didn’t write that abortions in our country might have erased the person who would discover the cure for cancer, develop an alternative fuel or establish world peace. Instead, he claimed that we have killed an entire generation of grunt workers from the lowest class, people who would have filed the positions illegal immigrants occupy today.
The real problem with our country has nothing to do with the fact that our government has decided to protect the rights of its women by giving them the choice to command their own lives. It lies in the people who look down on those women for exercising that choice.
Anyone who assumes that these women are incapable of producing an outstanding member of society is more a threat to the future of this country than Roe v. Wade could ever be.

I have copied the above letter as it was printed in the Peoria Journal Star on January 24, 2008, page A4 except for leaving out the name of the author of the letter. Yesterday, I posted “Cal Thomas’ Jan. 20 column (‘Roe v. Wade a reflection of our moral decay’)” so that the reader could go directly to his article for comparison.
The theme of Cal Thomas’ commentary is the moral decay of much of American society that led to the abhorrent “Roe v. Wade” Supreme Court travesty of justice, logic, and morality. The opposition letter does not discuss that moral decay at all.
Instead, the author is “shocked that a man educated enough to construct a well-written essay could have such an uneducated, one-sided opinion on abortion.” So, even though Cal Thomas is educated enough to write a well constructed essay, he is, in reality, according to the author an uneducated person because Mr. Thomas does not agree with the author. In short, the first sentence begins with the old libertine’s standby when they have nothing cogent to say—name calling!
However, the author doesn’t stop with the first paragraph. Paragraph two refers to the Thomas’ essay as a “severely skewed article” and then the author implies that Mr. Thomas is narrow-minded along with anyone else who disagrees with the “official position” of supporting the MURDER of UNBORN BABIES. I’m not sure how the article is severely skewed but it must be since the author proclaimed it to be severely skewed.
Paragraph four proclaims that the real problem in our country is NOT the MURDERING of UNBORN BABIES! No! Of course not! The real problem, according to the author, is all those unenlightened, narrow-minded, uneducated peons who dare to “look down on those women for exercising that choice.” The so-called choice, of course, is to MURDER YOUR OWN UNBORN BABY.
How does the author know that all those who are opposed to the MURDER of UNBORN BABIES also look down upon those women who MURDER their UNBORN BABIES? Why because the author declares it to be the case. The author also must be a mind reader.
News flash to the author! I don’t look down upon women who MURDER their UNBORN BABIES. I feel great sorrow. Sorrow for the MURDERED BABY!!! And sorrow for the mother who decided to commit the SIN of MURDER for whatever reason. Sorrow because I believe that if she does not REPENT, she has condemned herself to eternal spiritual condemnation as proclaimed in the Bible—the WORD of GOD. “… and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.” I John 3: 15b (NIV) “‘But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the MURDERERS (My capitalization.), the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.’” Revelation 21: 8 (NIV)
However, none of this name calling is the theme of the letter. The theme is in paragraph three of the letter. Paragraph three declares: “Thomas didn’t write that abortions in our country might have erased the person who would discover the cure for cancer, develop an alternative fuel or establish world peace. Instead, he claimed that we have killed an entire generation of grunt workers from the lowest class, people who would have filed the positions illegal immigrants occupy today.”
What!!! Where did the author come up with this fantasy? For the life of me, I can NOT find such nonsense in his article.
The closest I could come to are these sentences by Mr. Thomas. “These were people who, regardless of the circumstances of the women who carried them, had the potential to contribute to the country and to the world. But now they cannot, because they are not.” And the next paragraph which stated: “Would we be fighting the battle over immigration had we not rid ourselves of a generation of humans who likely would have done the work for which we are now importing illegal aliens? Actions have consequences.”
Now, please explain to me where Mr. Thomas declares that “we have killed an entire generation of grunt workers from the lowest class.” Where???
Mr. Thomas is talking about unintended consequences. (Anyway, I hope they were unintended.) If we would not have MURDERED 50 million UNBORN BABIES, we may not “need” illegal immigrants to fill all kinds of positions within our society. However, since there are an estimated 12 million illegals in the country, obviously more positions would be needed than just those filled by illegal aliens. Mr. Thomas also refers to the potential of all the MURDERED UNBORN BABIES. NO WHERE DOES HE DECLARE THAT ONLY BABIES FROM THE LOWER CLASS ARE MURDERED.
In fact, Mr. Thomas does not even mention classes of society. That must be a fiction from the mind of the author! We all know or should know that women from all strata of society MURDER UNBORN BABIES. This is not now and never has been a class issue. IT IS A MURDER ISSUE!!!
The author ends the tirade with this meaningless declaration: “Anyone who assumes that these women are incapable of producing an outstanding member of society is more a threat to the future of this country than Roe v. Wade could ever be.” Since Mr. Thomas never came close to assuming or claiming “that women are incapable of producing an outstanding member of society,” the author ends the argument with a non-argument. The author has attempted to construct a mythical “straw man” and then declares that mythical “straw-man” to be a greater threat to our society than the MURDER of 40-50 million UNBORN BABIES.
WHAT NONSENSE!!! Even if the author’s claim were true, it would still be nonsense. It would be similar to declaring that believing that Jews are incapable of leading a productive life is more a threat to society than MURDERING 3.5 million Jews in the holocaust of World WAR II. When did belief become more of a threat than actual MURDER!!!
Who is the author trying to fool with such nonsense? Certainly no one who can read and think!
“‘This is why I speak to them in parables: Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand. In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’” Matthew 13: 13-15 (NIV)
“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” Galatians 6: 7-8 (NIV)
Mr. Thomas seems to understand this truth from the Bible. It seems evident that the author of the letter does not!
“Thus, in 1789 President Washington issued ‘The First Thanksgiving Proclamation of the United States,’ which he began with these words, ‘Whereas, it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits and humbly implore His protection and favor ….’”
“But the forces of unbelief that have moved in to control American life, would remove every influence of God among us. We are reminded of the statement by William Penn that, ‘If we are not governed by God, we will be ruled by tyrants.’”
“Rather He pronounced a blessing on ‘the nation whose God is the Lord.’ (Psalm 33: 12)
“He promised that his eye would be ‘upon those who fear him.’” (Psalm 33: 18)
“He has said, ‘Righteousness exalts a nation; but sin is a reproach (or a disgrace) to any people.’” (Proverbs 14: 34)
“‘Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits aflame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power.’”
“Without the influence of Divine Providence, believers will be disenfranchised and America will fall as other great societies in the past have done, from within.”
“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” Galatians 6: 7-8 (NIV)
1 Comments:
Whether or no Mr. Thomas meant to or not it pretty easy to see where some could get the idea that he was implying that most of abortions involved mothers from the lower class. The quote in your post pretty clear shows where some one could draw that conclusion, most illegal immigrants working in lower wage position that would be traditional filled by "lower class" workers rather he meant it that way or not it seems to be a pretty implication from his statement. Though I disagree with his logic regardless of whether abortion was legal of not we would still most likely have our current immigration problems.
