“IFI Update: HB 3156 Falls 3 Votes Short in the House

House Bill 3156, sponsored by State Representative Darlene Senger (R-Naperville) fell just 3 votes short of passage today, but may get another vote tomorrow or Friday. The bill received 57 ‘yea’ votes, 51 ‘nay’ votes with 7 voting ‘present.’ (I looked for a tally of this “vote” last night and could not find it. The information at the site said it had been pulled from consideration which, I think, means the vote was not recorded because it would not have passed at that moment and it will be brought back after more pressure is applied and the additional 3 votes are “guaranteed.” We need to apply that pressure!—my addition)

Take ACTION: We need a flood of calls, emails and faxes today and tomorrow in support of HB 3156 if we hope to secure the 60 votes needed to pass this bill onto the Illinois Senate.

to send an email or a fax to your state senator to urge him/her to support HB 3156.

This bill would amend the Ambulatory Surgical Treatment Center Act to require abortion clinics that perform more than 50 abortions a year to meet basic safety regulations similar to other outpatient treatment centers. (Surprised that MURDER clinics don’t already have basic safety regulations? Are dental offices regulated for safety purposes? Does this lack of regulation demonstrate the power of the MURDER set in this State? Where is the real concern for the health and safety of women in this State? How many female babies are MURDERED in this State each year in the name of women’s “health?”—my addition)

You may be surprised to learn that abortion clinics have never been regulated in Illinois. (Where is the real concern for the health and safety of women in this State?—my addition)

Please take action as soon as you are able!”
