Hollywood: the new Sodom and Gomorrah?

The remainder of the Congressional questionnaires to primary candidates in the 11th, 14th, 15th, 17th, and 19th Congressional Districts have been mailed. Now, we wait and see who responds to the questionnaires. Stay tuned.

I will not be continuing my Creationism posts today. I do plan to return to them soon.

Then, I plan to answer the response about Iraq. I am sorry for the change in plans. Plans, in reality, often are altered for one reason or another. “The best laid plans … often go astray.” Thank you for your understanding and patience.

How many unborn toddlers were murdered today because of the humanistic, paganish, barbaric decisions of the United States Supreme Court?

Stop the
Murder of
Unborn
Toddlers

It seems that lately I have been writing about subjects that I had not planned to write about. That is also the case today. The following brief article was in Parade magazine on November 18, 2007, page 18. Since the article is short, I am posting it in its entirety.

“Election Watch: Celebs vote with their checkbooks

She can’t make up her mind about Dr. Derek Shepherd on Grey’s Anatomy, but for now, Ellen Pompeo is committed to Barack Obama. The TV star has given $4,600 to him. Others are still waffling, with Paul Newman pledging maximum amounts to Obama, Christopher Dodd and Hillary Clinton. Actors and actresses have given more than $585,000 to Presidential candidates so far with 93% to Democrats and 7% to Republicans. Who’s ahead in the race for donations? Obama and Clinton are first and second among Democrats; Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney occupy those spots in the GOP field. And even though Fred Thompson was one of them—he starred on TV’s Law & Order—he reportedly has received only $350 from actors and actresses.”

I think it is safe to claim that Hollywood, including TV programming, is the greatest single source of propaganda in the history of the world. The propaganda they spew out is replete with immorality—violence, immoral sexual activity, praise of homosexual behavior, greed, all vices of humanity, obscenities, self indulgence, and support for the MURDER of unborn children.

From the above article, it seems that the actors and actresses not only play those roles but they also support such activities since they financially support those political candidates that promote the same activities particularly homosexual behavior and the MURDER of unborn babies. Even when the donations go to Republicans which is only about 7% of the time, the two main Republican beneficiaries seem to be the two most libertine Republicans. (Some might argue that Mitt Romney does not fit that category. I plan a post on Mitt Romney in the future.) It seems that Fred Thompson, although he worked and lived among them, has not been part of them just as Lot in the Old Testament worked and lived among the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah but was not part of them.

So my question is this, why would any Christian or anyone else, who has moral values, support Hollywood and the vast wasteland of TV by watching and spending money to watch such promoted immorality? Why would we indirectly put money into the hands of the very people who then donate that money to libertines who promote and support immorality? Does that make sense to you?

Just as where actors and actresses donate their money demonstrates their moral values; so to does what we watch and spend money on demonstrate our moral values. As JESUS said, “‘No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.’” Matthew 6: 24 (NIV)
