“Pro-Life Doctors Group: Pro-Abortion Health Care Bill Hurts Physicians, Patients

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com)—The new health care reform legislation put forward by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi not only includes a new program that funds abortions with government money, but would also hurt doctors and patients. That’s the message from a national organization for Christian and pro-life physicians. The 16,000-member Christian Medical Association, the nation’s largest faith-based association of physicians, has problems with the 2,000-page healthcare overhaul bill (HR 3962). The group told http://www.lifenews.com/ today that the measure far exceeds the need for targeted reforms, instead injecting massive government intervention that threatens the patient-physician relationship. ‘This legislation is an overdose. With this massive legislation, we are getting much more than is actually needed to fix our healthcare system,’ (It is Nationalized Healthcare—my addition) CMA director Dr. David Stevens explained. ‘What we need is a targeted reformation of areas needing reform, but this legislation is an attempt to totally transform our healthcare system into a government-run system that dictates what healthcare treatment each patient will receive.’ Full story at LifeNews.com

House Health Care Bill Has Death Panels, Tax-Funded Assisted Suicide Promotion

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com)—The new House health care reform bill unveiled last week by Speaker Nancy Pelosi contains more than the controversial ‘death panels’ panned in the previous legislation. The new bill, H.R. 3962, contains direct taxpayer-funded promotion of assisted suicide in the states where it is currently legal. HR 3962 contains two clear end-of-life provisions—including one that requires insurance companies to distribute advance directives and other planning tools to all who are insured on the new government-run exchange. The other allows Medicare reimbursement for optional end-of-life planning consultation. Both provisions appear to exclude assisted suicide from the consultations and advance directives, but those exclusions have no meaning in the Washington and Oregon (and possibly soon in Montana) where assisted suicides are legal. There, state law says that ‘death with dignity,’ (oxymoron—my addition) the legal terms in those states for assisted suicide, does not actually constitute assisted suicide. In both states, state law says actions under the assisted suicide statute ‘shall not, for any purpose, constitute suicide, assisted suicide, mercy killing or homicide, under the law.’ (Redefining behavior does not change the immorality of the behavior!—my addition) Full story at LifeNews.com

President Barack Obama Violating Pledge For No Abortion Funding in Health Care

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com)—During an address to Congress in September, President Barack Obama promised there would be no abortion funding in his health care plans. However, a new report today indicates Obama has been personally lobbying members of Congress to vote for the current bills, all of which fund abortions. During the speech, Obama said, ‘One more misunderstanding I want to clear up—under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions.’ (HE LIES!!!—my addition) Since then, Obama has come under fire from some liberal activists for not doing enough to push through the current health care reform bills. Yet, a new Politico report issued today indicates that ‘in private meetings and chance encounters and during Air Force One flights, Obama has worked behind the scenes’ to promote the current pro-abortion health care bills. House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman, a top abortion advocate who is responsible for the Capps amendment that allows abortion funding in the new health care reform bill Speaker Nancy Pelosi unveiled last week, confirmed to Politico that Obama has been lobbying for the bills. ‘He’s making phone calls, meeting with members’ and spending considerable time lobbying members of the Senate, Waxman confirmed. Pro-Life Group: House Health Care Bill Would Fund Abortions ‘For Years to Come’

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com)—The pro-life movement is unified in its opposition to the House health care reform bill Speaker Nancy Pelosi unveiled last week because of its abortion funding. In a new letter to members of Congress, the National Right to Life more exactly spells out what is at stake in the votes expected later this week. Members of the House could hold multiple votes on health care as soon as Thursday (The latest I’ve heard is that they don’t yet have the votes and the vote has been pushed back to Sunday—my addition)—with votes coming on the rules for debate, one massive amendment from Pelosi and ruling Democrats, and a vote on the bill itself. When they vote, the National Right to Life Committee says their decisions will affect the status of government funding of abortions for years to come. NRLC has one main message it hopes lawmakers and pro-life advocates will understand before the votes take place: ‘The bill would create a national federal agency health program, the ‘public option,’ and would explicitly authorize that federal agency program to pay for elective abortions.’ ‘This federal agency program will pay for abortions with federal funds (which are the only kind of funds that federal agencies can spend),’ the letter, provided to http://www.lifenews.com/, spells out. NRLC notes that pro-life Representatives Bart Stupak (Who reportedly has said he WILL vote for the bill even if the MURDER of unborn babies is included! Pray he changes his mind again!—my addition) and Joe Pitts have ‘proposed an amendment that would apply the long-established principles of the ‘Hyde Amendment’ to the federal ‘public option’ program, but Democratic leaders have made it clear that their Rule will not allow a floor vote’ on it. “House Democrats’ Phony Amendment Claims to Remove Abortion From Health Care

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com)—House Democrats are working on yet another phony amendment that they claim will remove government funding of abortions from the health care reform bill. However, it appears the Ellsworth amendment does nothing to remove the massive new abortion-funding program in H.R. 3962. The new bill that Speaker Nancy Pelosi unveiled last week and that the House is expected to vote on later this week funds abortions with taxpayer dollars in two ways. First, it sets up the public option—a government-run health care plan that will pay for abortions—and it funds abortions by giving members of the public affordability credits that can be used to pay for abortions. Led by Rep. Bart Stupak, a pro-life Democrat from Michigan, pro-life groups were hoping Pelosi would allow a vote on an authentic amendment that would curb all abortion funding in the bill. Pelosi has proposed rules for debate on the health care bill that prohibit Stupak from offering his amendment. Instead, Democratic leaders will put forward a manager’s amendment that will contain language crafted jointly by Rep. Rosa DeLauro, a pro-abortion stalwart from Connecticut, and Rep. Brad Ellsworth, a pro-life Democrat from Indiana who is in jeopardy of losing that descriptor. (Has LOST it!—my addition) At a caucus meeting on Monday night, Democratic leaders presented the draft text of Ellsworth-DeLauro amendment and the changes it makes in the abortion-funding provisions of the bill are strictly cosmetic. (This is how you will know that the bill actually will NOT pay for the MURDER of unborn babies—when the pro-MURDER set starts screaming “bloody murder” that they have been betrayed by the President and mean it! Have you heard one word from them that the MURDER of unborn babies is excluded from the bill even after the President said the MURDER of unborn babies is not covered? HE LIES and UNBORN BABIES DIE!!!—my addition)

“ACTION: Contact Rep. Ellsworth at (202) 225-4636 and urge him to not participate in creating a phony amendment that does not stop abortion funding in health care. Also, contact your member of Congress and urge opposition to the Ellsworth amendment (or the manager’s amendment) and ask for a vote on the Stupak amendment to truly ban abortion funding. House Will Vote on Pro-Abortion Health Care Reform Bill on Saturday Evening

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com)—The House of Representatives will finally cast its first votes on the pro-abortion health care reform bill this weekend. After a fluid process that saw dates repeatedly pushed back, the first chance pro-life advocates will have to stop the abortion funding bill will come Saturday night. That means pro-life advocates need to continue turning out phone calls and emails to lawmakers every day until all of the votes have been cast. Two steps remain before lawmakers will actually take a vote on the pro-abortion health care bill itself, HR 3962. First, the House must vote on the Manager’s Amendment, which is an amendment to make changes to the bill, and it does not include any limits on abortion funding. Secondly, the House must vote on the Rule for debate and pro-life advocates are expected to vigorously oppose the Rule because it contains a fake amendment that does not actually stop abortion funding under either the public option or the affordability credits. House Rules Committee Chairwoman Louise M. Slaughter said Wednesday that the Rule will include the Ellsworth amendment that http://www.lifenews.com/ has reported on, which pro-life groups such as National Right to Life and leading pro-life Congressman Chris Smith have condemned. The rules committee will meet 24 hours before the Saturday debate and it is expected to approve the Rule for debate on a party-line vote. Then, the House vote is expected at 6 p.m. Saturday after what is likely to be a fierce day of debating with pro-life lawmakers underscoring how HR 3926 would become the largest expansion of abortion funding since Roe v. Wade. Full story at LifeNews.com

ACTION: Contact your member of the House immediately and urge a no vote on the Rule and HR 3962 because the health care bill contains massive abortion funding. Get contact information at http://www.house.gov/.”

Yesterday on my blog I wrote, “You’re right again. I won’t be paying any tax for not purchasing health insurance I don’t want.” Guess what, I certainly won’t be paying any federal income tax to a government who FORCES me to help pay for the MURDER of unborn babies through government created “healthcare” edicts. It just won’t happen. I answer to a MUCH HIGHER AUTHORITY that the U.S. government.

If this bill becomes law, it looks like at least two crimes will be committed. So be it!

“But Peter and John replied, ‘Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to obey you rather than God.’” Acts 4: 19 (NIV)

“… and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.” I John 3: 15b (NIV)

“Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: ‘If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.’” Mark 8: 34-38 (NIV)
