Petitions against nationalized healthcare, trying terrorists in civilian courts, and EPA missteps, and information from the National Rifle Association

I received the following from e-mails in the last week. I have included the source as given. The first two do not give a source but are from a usually reliable contact. The information:

1) “Please take a minute to sign this petition keeping Government control OUT of healthcare.

http://www.freeourhealthcarenow.com/

2) “AP source: Gitmo 9/11 suspects heading to NY trial

They will face trial on our soil, with protection of The Constitution as well. The ACLU is hugely in favor of this if that gives you an indication of the background.

Petition to stop this...

3) From http://capwiz.com/americansforprosperity/utr/1/ITEALPZXMY/ILXALQABJP/4264219116

“Based on a legal theory originally conceived by Climate Czar Carol Browner in the late 1990s, Obama’s EPA is moving ahead with greenhouse gases regulations under the 1970 Clean Air Act even though in 1970 global warming hadn’t even been invented yet, and the doom-saying scientists were instead warning of an impending ice age!

“The case is McDonald v. City of Chicago, and it will answer the question of whether the Second Amendment applies to the states-as the Congress clearly intended in the 1860s, when it adopted the Fourteenth Amendment to protect constitutional rights against abuse by state and local governments. This brief is an opportunity for today’s Congress to show just as clearly that it respects the Second Amendment’s importance to all Americans—not just residents of the District of Columbia and other federal territories.”

Your Help Is Needed In Support of BATFE Reform Bills S. 941 And H.R. 2296:

As we’ve been reporting for months, Senator Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) have introduced S. 941, the ‘Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Reform and Firearms Modernization Act of 2009’ in the U.S. Senate. Representatives Steve King (R-Iowa) and Zack Space (D-Ohio) have introduced a companion bill-H.R. 2296-in the U.S. House.

The bills would roll back unnecessary restrictions, correct errors, and codify longstanding congressional policies in the firearms arena. These bipartisan bills are a vital step to modernize and improve BATFE operations.”
