Nationalized Healthcare: Victory/Defeat—the battle goes on

Late Saturday night the House of Representatives voted for the Stupak Amendment to HR. 3962—the Nationalized Healthcare bill—preventing federal money from being used to MURDER unborn babies except in limited situations. It is basically an extension of the Hyde Amendment, which covers Medicaid recipients, that has been in place for a number of years to also cover those under the Nationalized Healthcare provisions.

The vote of 176 Republicans and 64 Democrats to prevent the MURDER of unborn babies was a victory. 194 Democrats voted against the amendment and one Republican voted present. All 435 members of the House voted on the amendment. In the near future, I hope to post the names of the 64 Democrats who voted for the amendment. They deserve a thank you and extreme encouragement to maintain this important position!

I believe the following from http://www.lifenews.com/ will get you to that vote. I have not tried it yet but will after this is posted. The link is:

This was an important vote on the issue. However, the battle is not over. The Senate’s two versions of the bill do NOT have this life protecting amendment and currently WOULD allow the government to pay for the MURDER of unborn babies.

Furthermore, if both the House and the Senate do not pass identical bills, the Conference Committee, which puts the bill into identical form, could remove the amendment from the final version. Therefore, do not get complacent. The battle is far from over.

“Meanwhile, the New York Times is reporting that Speaker Nancy Pelosi may have agreed to go along with the Stupak amendment only because she knows that it could be removed in the future as the process proceeds. Full story at LifeNews.com

Also, the House then passed by a 220 to 215 vote its version of Nationalized Healthcare. Even with the Stupak Amendment, this is a monstrously bad bill which will give control of healthcare to the national government, increase cost, not lower them, and cause major damage to our nation, healthcare system, and economy.

The Senate version needs to be defeated before a Conference Committee writes a third version requiring a yes or no vote. I do believe it will be harder in the Senate to pass a version of this bill than it was in the House. WE MUST STAY ACTIVE AND INVOLVED!!!

In the next couple of days, I hope to post the names and contact information for all Democratic Senators who will be up for reelection in 2010. They are the ones most likely to be swayed if they can be convinced that their job—being a U.S. Senator—is on the line.

From what I have been reading, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s reelection chances (he is up for election in 2010) are not very good at this point in time. Perhaps, he needs to be reminded that if this monstrosity passes the entire CONSERVATIVE NATION will work for his defeat. I know I would be willing to take a vacation to do some campaigning against him. (I haven’t been back to Arizona since 2005. Nevada’s close to Arizona isn’t it?)

It is important that the Republicans nominate a conservative who can defeat him in Nevada in November. And yes, unlike the fiasco in New York Congressional District 23, the nominee NEEDS to be a conservative. Harry Reid was the Senator who publicly and prematurely declared “The war in Iraq is LOST!” He NEEDS to go down to defeat and it can be done!

In the meantime, keep praying! Momentum is moving in our direction. Keep working! Momentum is moving in our direction. Keep actively involved. This MONSTROSITY can be STOPPED!!!

P.S. In my opinion, any conservative who is a member of AARP should drop their membership immediately. The AARP sold their membership out for 30 pieces of silver. Nationalized healthcare might be good for the organization (Although in the long run, I don’t think it will be.) but it most certainly will not be for a majority of retirees. If the bill in its present form is passed, rationing of healthcare to an even greater extent than now will almost certainly occur. And according to Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel [Dr. Emanuel, I understand, is the brother of Rahm Emanuel who had been a Chicago area Congressman from Illinois and was appointed Chief of Staff for Barack Hussein Obama when he became President—my addition], medical rationing should begin with the very young and senior citizens. Be prepared to be rationed out of existence.
