Congress—Cloture Votes Saturday

I’ve been receiving e-mails from several of my sources that both the DREAM Act/ NIGHTMARE Act and Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell may come to a cloture vote Saturday. Of course, why neither one has not been voted on before is because the necessary votes for cloture were NOT going to be there. However, now that the Omnibus Appropriations bill has been withdrawn, some RINO Republicans may break ranks and signal their support for cloture. We must KEEP the PRESSURE ON!!! Both of these bills will be terrible for the nation. Both are attempts at social engineering. Contact wavering RINO Republicans, Democratic Senators who are up for reelection in 2012 (See my post of December 14th entitled “Gambling, the Senate, and the lame duck Congress” for a list of the Senators and contact information.), and your own Senators.

“Vote for the DREAM Act in the next 27 Hours!!!!

The next 24 hours will be the most important opportunity for grassroots activists to STOP the DREAM Act amnesty from passing in Congress. The DREAM Act is an amnesty for 2.1 million undocumented young adults in this country. Vote is set for 10am in the Senate on Saturday, December 18, 2010.

We only have one chance to stop this!

Reid filed for cloture on the DREAM act and just ‘filled the amendment tree’ so that no sensible amendments can be offered on the Senate floor to the DREAM Act. Same for DADT repeal, he’s moving them together. Cloture vote is on Saturday early.

Sources tell us here is the process of what will happen:

1) Cloture motion filed tonight (Thursday)

2) Vote on cloture on Saturday morning.

3) If it gets 60 votes, 30 hours will run before another vote. 2nd vote is on final passage—51 votes needed. (And it will no doubt pass if cloture is achieved! Now is the time to stop this!—my addition)

4) If DREAM cloture vote fails, move on to DADT (Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell) cloture vote.”

“From the DADT side and conservative intel: Murkowski (Republican from Alaska—my addition) and Collins (Republican from Maine—my addition) and Brown (Republican from Massachusetts—my addition) will vote YES on DADT repeal. Basically they are crossing and throwing out the 42 GOP solidarity letter they signed and not sticking with their party. Lieberman confirms that he has 61 for DADT repeal and maybe even 62.

If these Republican Senators and maybe more are crossing party lines for DADT repeal, don’t expect all 42 to hold the line on DREAM.” (If Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is successful in the cloture vote, you can expect a revote on cloture for the DREAM Act!—my addition)

We have been stopping them all along the lines. Don’t let up now. PRAY! WORK! BE INVOLVED! STOP THE MADNESS! KEEP THEIR FEET TO THE FIRE! This is our nation. Let’s Take Back the Nation! No one said it would be easy!
