I began my first two posts of this series with the following comments: “The following article is from World magazine which is the only weekly magazine that I read regularly. Because of the work I had been doing for my clients, I have fallen behind (once again) on my reading. I had just finished reading this article the other day. I was going to do material on Mr. Obama and after reading the article decided this was a good time to do just that. The two previous posts—Seven things GOD hates and MURDER on a MASSIVE SCALE—were preludes to this series.

Most politically active organizations have some method of categorizing the votes of members of Congress. I checked the ACLU and Planned Murderhood websites to see how they rank the members of the Senate.
Planned Murderhood (www.plannedparenthood.org) lists each Senator; whether they are Pro-choice 100%, Mixed 99% - 50%, or Anti-choice 49% - 0%; and then gives their percentage. The Website I was on did not list the issues considered or how many issues were considered. I found this information originally in October of 2006 for a post I wrote at that time. I was not able to find similar information for 2007.

In 2006, Senator Barack Obama received a ranking of “Pro-choice 100%.” This should not be surprising since from his days as a member of the Illinois legislature, he has been a proponent for the MURDER of unborn babies. He is in lockstep with Planned Murderhood in supporting the MURDER of our most innocent children.

The ACLU (www.aclu.org) uses a somewhat different system. In 2006, the organization identified twelve key votes and listed the vote of the Senator on each of those twelve issues and then gave a percentage based upon how often the Senator supported the ACLU position. As far as I could find, the ACLU website did not define the twelve votes listed. The twelve key issues were:

1) Federal Marriage Amendment—Cloture Vote
2) Flag Desecration Amendment
3) Judicial Review of Torture
4) Military Commissions
5) Patriot Act—Cloture Vote
6) Patriot Act Conference Report
7) Privacy Protection in New Worker Database
8) Removing Judicial Protections from Detainees
9) Reproductive Rights for Minors
10) Samuel Alito Supreme Court Confirmation
11) Torture Prevention
12) Voting Rights Act Reauthorization

In 2006, Senator Obama received a rating of 83%. The Senator did not vote according to the desires of the ACLU in relation to “Judicial Review of Torture” and “Patriot Act Conference Report.” He did vote against the marriage amendment which defined marriage as being between one man and one woman which did not receive the ⅔ vote needed for passage—falling short by only one vote. The Senator also voted against the Constitutional Amendment to allow Congress to pass laws making it illegal to desecrate the American flag which the Supreme Court has allowed through a misapplication of the “freedom of speech” provision of the First Amendment. Senator Obama has continued his support of the MURDER of unborn babies in his vote for “Reproductive Rights for Minors.” Finally, he voted against the confirmation of Samuel Alito—a “Strict Constructionist”—for the U.S. Supreme Court.

In 2007, the seven key issues according to the ACLU website were:

1) Expansion of Real ID
2) Expansion of Spying Powers (Senate)
3) Grassroots Lobbying
4) Habeas Corpus Restoration—Cloture Vote
5) Lifting the Global Gag Rule
6) Prosecuting Hate Crimes—Cloture Vote
7) Voter ID Requirements

This time, Senator Obama received an 80% rating. He voted on five of the seven issues. The one issue he voted contrary to ACLU desires was on “Grassroots Lobbying.” He did not vote on the issues of “Lifting the Global Gag Rule” and “Voter ID Requirements.”

Senator Obama seems most likely in the future to continue to cast votes that will be pleasing to Planned Murderhood and the ACLU.

I had planned on tonight’s post being the last one at this time on Barack Obama. I was planning on dealing with a couple of issues and his position on those issues. I’m changing direction somewhat. The Peoria Journal Star regularly prints on Sunday a small segment that is titled “Roll Call Report” by Thomas Voting Reports. The first paragraph reads: “Washington, D.C.—Here’s how area members of Congress voted on major roll calls in the week ending Friday.” (Peoria Journal Star, 10/28/07, page A8) The newspaper is referring, of course, to Illinois for the Senate.

The article listed three major roll call votes for the Senate for that week. As identified in the article, they were “Illegal Aliens’ Children,” “Amtrak Subsidy Caps,” and “Domestic Spending Showdown.” Senator Barack Obama is identified as “Not voting” on two of the three issues. He did vote on one issue—he voted on “Illegal Aliens’ Children.”

This is what the article said about that issue: “Illegal Aliens’ Children: Voting 52 for and 44 against, the Senate on Wednesday failed to reach 60 votes needed to advance a bill (S 2205) putting children of illegal immigrants on a path to citizenship if they first serve in the U.S. military or complete two years of higher education. The path would be available to high school graduates without criminal records who have lived in the U.S. for at least five years and entered before age 16. They would have to wait six years to apply for citizenship after meeting the educational or military requirement. The bill is named the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act, or DREAM Act.

Chuck Hagel, R-Neb., said, ‘The DREAM Act would make it possible to bring these young people out of shadows and give them the opportunity to contribute, work and pay taxes. (It) is not amnesty. It is a narrowly tailored piece of legislation that would help only a limited, select group of young people earn legal status.’

Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said, ‘I do not believe we should reward illegal behavior. It is our duty to promote respect for America’s immigration laws and fairness for U.S. citizens and lawful immigrants. The DREAM Act fails that test.’

A yes vote was to advance the bill.

Voting yes: Richard Durbin, D; Barack Obama, D.”

It is not surprising that Senator Obama voted for this bill. He has publicly supported a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants. I don’t know the details of this bill since the article gives, at best, a short summary of a bill that is probably a hundred or more pages long. What is misleading from the information given is the title of the bill. It is not a bill to provide a means to citizenship for aliens. It is a bill to provide a means to citizenship for illegal immigrants who are brought into this country by either illegal immigrant parents or other illegal immigrants or who came to this country on their own although under the age of sixteen.

I’ve said many times, Congress, including Senator Obama, should NOT reward illegal immigrants or their children with citizenship ahead of others who are following our laws to obtain admittance into our country and perhaps ultimately obtain citizenship. It is INSANITY to reward illegal actions!!!

I have finished commenting on the World article. I received tonight’s post some time ago from a usually reliable source. It was originally written in late December of 2006 before Senator Obama officially declared he was running for President. I don’t know how accurate the information is. I post it as another possible reference point. I don’t think much of the information given, if true, is information you might read in the libertine mass media. I am posting it without comment for what ever value it may have.

Who is Obama and what has he done?

Independent columnist, Andy Martin (Out2.com) says he believes Obama is a political fraud who ‘lied to the American people.’
Martin says Obama may be a threat to the Jewish community because he is a closet Muslim.

‘I feel sad having to expose Barack Obama,’ says Martin, ‘but the man is a complete fraud. The truth is going to surprise, and disappoint, and outrage many people who were drawn to him. He has lied to the American people, and he has sought to misrepresent his own heritage.

‘Obama's life story is vastly different from the one he portrays. My point: if he will lie about his mother and father, what else is he lying about? Can we expect ‘bimbo eruptions?’

‘Fiction: Obama stated in his Convention speech: ‘My father … grew up herding goats.’ The ‘goat herder’ claim has been repeated endlessly. It is a lie.

‘Fact: Obama's grandfather, Hussein Onyango Obama was a prominent and wealthy farmer. His son, Obama's father, was a child of privilege, not privation. He was an outstanding student, not a herdsman.

‘Fiction: Obama was given an ‘African’ name.
‘Fact: Obama is a Muslim who has concealed his religion. I am a strong supporter of the Muslim community, and I believe Muslims have been scapegoated. Obama has a great opportunity to be forthright.

‘Instead, he has treated his Muslim heritage as a dark secret. His grandfather was named ‘Hussein.’ That is an Arabic-Muslim, not African, name. Hussein was a devout Muslim and named his son, Barack Senior, ‘Baraka.’ Baraka is an Arabic word meaning ‘blessed.’ Baraka came out of the Koran and Arabic, not Africa.

‘Barack Senior was also a devoted Muslim, and also chose a Muslim name for his son, our own Barack Obama, Junior. Again, his name was an Arabic and Koranic.

‘Fiction: Obama Senior was a harmless student ‘immigrant’ who came to the United States only to study.

‘Fact: Obama was part of one of the most corrupt and violent organizations in Africa: the Kenyatta regime. Obama's father ran back to Kenya soon after the British left. It is likely Obama's father had Mau Mau sympathies or connections, or he would not have been welcomed into the murderous inner circle of rapists, murderers, and arsonists. I believe Obama's secret shame at his family history of rape, murder and arson is what actualizes him. Our research is not yet complete. We are seeking to examine British colonial records. Our investigation to date has drawn on information on three continents.

‘And what about Obama's beloved Kenyan brothers and sisters? None of his family was invited to Boston to share his prominence. Are his relatives being kept in the closet? Where are they? More secrecy, more prevarication.

‘It is time for Barack Obama to stop presenting a fantasy to the American people. We are forgiving and many would still support him. It may well be that his concealment is meant to endanger Israel. Debbie Schlussel, a conservative political commentator, columnist, was more pointedly critical about Obama's Islamic connections, she wrote on her blog, debbieschlussel.com/, ‘while Obama may not identify as a Muslim, that's not how the Arab and Muslim Streets see it.

‘In Arab culture and under Islamic law, if your father is a Muslim, so are you. And once a Muslim, always a Muslim. You cannot go back. In Islamic eyes, Obama is certainly a Muslim. He may think he’s a Christian, but they do not.’

Is a man Muslims think is a Muslim, Schlussel asked on her blog, ‘a man we want as President when we are fighting the war of our lives against Islam? Where will his loyalties be?

‘Is that even the man we'd want to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency, if Hillary Clinton offers him the Vice Presidential candidacy on her ticket (which he certainly wouldn’t turn down)?’

Obama was born Aug. 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii, the son of Barack Hussein Obama Sr. of Nyangoma-Kogelo, Siaya District, Kenya, and Ann Dunham, of Wichita, Kan.

Obama senior met his wife, a white woman, when he was a student attending the University of Hawaii. Obama junior was born in Hawaii.

When he was two-years old, Obama's parents divorced and his father returned to Kenya, where he eventually served as a senior economist in the country’s Ministry of Finance.

When Obama was six, his mother, an atheist, married Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian Muslim and moved to Jakarta, Indonesia. Obama's half-sister, Maya Soetoro was born after the family moved to Indonesia.

Soetoro enrolled his stepson in one of Jakarta's Muslim Wahabbi schools. Wahabbism is the radical teaching that created the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad on the rest of the world. Obama later attended a Catholic school in Indonesia.

At age 10 Obama was sent back to Hawaii to be raised by his white maternal grandparents and to attend the prestigious Punahou Academy.

He attended Occidental College, followed by Columbia College and Columbia University.

After Obama's parents divorced when he was two, he spent only one month with his father before his father’s death in a vehicle wreck when Obama was 20.

After college, Obama entered Harvard Law where he was elected president of the Harvard Law Review. He received his law degree in 1991 and moved to Chicago where he took a job with a civil rights law firm.

Obama was elected to the Illinois State Senate in 1996. He lost in a bid for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2000 and was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2004.

Obama says he is a Christian with ‘deep faith rooted in the Christian tradition.’ He is a member of Trinity United Church of Christ of Chicago, which on its web site declares to be a ‘congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian’ and ‘an African people’ who ‘remain ‘true to our native land,’ the mother continent, the cradle of civilization.’

Trinity United Church of Christ adopted a ‘Black Value System’ which pledges allegiance ‘to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System’ and a ‘personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System.’
According to ontheissues.org, Obama has proven himself to be a nearly perfect leftist democrat. He is pro-abortion, anti-gun, against ban of same-sex marriage, against teaching family values in public schools, against ban of flag burning, against privatizing Social Security, against the death penalty and three strikes laws, for hiring more women and minorities, for increased funding for health care and for campaign finance reform.

He believes in the separation of church and state—except when he campaigns in black churches.

Who is Barack Hussein Obama?

Many Democrats are promoting him in the media as the Democrat's best hope for winning the White House in 2008.

Referring to Obama's 2006 year-end visit with friends and family in Hawaii, Obama's half-sister, Maya Soetoro, recently stated: ‘He's going to make his decision here and announce it to us. Then he's probably going to officially announce his decision once he returns.’

The Associated Press reported that Obama is expected back in Washington, DC the first week of January, 2007.”

I originally was going to just take sections from the article and comment on them but I decided that some might accuse me of trying to skew my presentation by taking material out of context. Therefore, I have ended up quoting the whole article. I was going to first post the article and then make comments the next post. However, I couldn’t resist making some short comments as I was typing it so (because of the increasing length) I have divided it into two sections.”

Tonight’s comments:

The following quote is the first paragraph on page 21 of the World article. It was also the first paragraph of part two of my series. “Obama has said the Bible is not a ‘static text’ and says he ‘must be continually open to new revelations’—and he has acknowledged that those who believe the Bible is inerrant and that it teaches, for example, that abortion is wrong aren’t likely to accept his ‘ground rules for collaboration.’ So as the campaign reaches out to religious voters, the discussion typically steers clear of such controversial subjects. (Is it just me or does that seem somewhat deceptive in nature—I want your vote but I’m not going to discuss positions that you are probably going to disagree with?—my addition) On a recent Saturday morning at a campaign organized ‘faith forum’ in rural South Carolina, the subject didn’t come up at all.”

On my last post I pointed out that the Bible proclaims “In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil men and imposters will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” II Timothy 3: 12-17 (NIV)

Tonight, I will continue to discuss the folly of Senator Barack Obama ignoring the truth as presented in the GOD-breathed Scriptures.

JESUS is quoted as saying in John 8: 47 (NIV) that “He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.” Since we know that all Scripture is God-breathed, the only source that we can be certain contains GOD’S will is the Scriptures. If what man claims to be GOD’S will or revelation is contradicted by Scripture, the only true source for determining the accuracy of that claim is the Scriptures. Since Barack Obama’s support and promotion of the MURDER of unborn babies and support and promotion of homosexual activities is directly contradicted by Scripture, Christians must accept Scripture as the truth and not the support and promotion of sin exclaimed by Barack Obama.

“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!” Galatians 1: 6-9 (NIV)
Is Barack Obama trying to pervert the gospel of JESUS the CHRIST by supporting and promoting the MURDER of unborn babies and homosexual activities as a protected constitutional “right”? Is Barack Obama condemning himself by supporting and promoting the MURDER of unborn babies and homosexual activities? If he leads others astray because of his supporting and promoting of the MURDER of unborn children and homosexual activities is he also condemning those who are led astray? Why would any Christian risk possible condemnation by supporting or voting for a political candidate, including Barack Obama, who supports sin that is contrary to holy, GOD-breathed Scripture?

“He (the LORD JESUS the CHRIST—my addition) went on ‘What comes out of a man is what makes him ‘unclean.’ For from within, out of men’s hearts come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from within and make a man ‘unclean.’’” [Mark 7: 20-23 (NIV)] Sexual immorality, which includes homosexual activities, and MURDER come from the heart of man and are evil according to Scripture according to JESUS. Supporting and promoting sin is evil. Does Barack Obama disagree with this Scripture? Has he received some revelation that contradicts what JESUS has clearly proclaimed to be the truth? I don’t think so!!!

“In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, enduring hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.” II Timothy 4: 1-5 (NIV)

The responsibility of Christians, at all times during all circumstances, is to preach and teach the truth—the WORD of GOD. The Bible clearly declares that there with by those who claim to be Christians but are not because they do not preach and teach the truth. Rather, they preach and teach lies that men want to hear. Lies that contradict the plain truth of the WORD of GOD. Christians are not to be swayed by those lies no matter how pleasing they seem and no matter who teaches those lies.

Compare what Barack Obama says about the MURDER of unborn babies and the practice of homosexuality with the clear and distinct WORD of GOD. Why does he not discuss his beliefs in these two areas when he discusses his faith? Is it because he knows that his positions are contrary to the WORD of GOD? Is it because he knows that no true Christian would support an individual who so obviously distorts GOD’S holy Scripture? Do not support Sin!!! It can only be detrimental to your soul!!! Urge all who do support sin to repent and return to GOD’S will!!!

“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” Galatians 6: 7-8 (NIV)

Therefore, I have ended up quoting the whole article. I was going to first post the article and then make comments the next post. However, I couldn’t resist making some short comments as I was typing it so (because of the increasing length) I have divided it into two sections.”

Tonight’s comments:

The following quote is the first paragraph on page 21 of the World article. It was also the first paragraph of part two of my series. “Obama has said the Bible is not a ‘static text’ and says he ‘must be continually open to new revelations’—and he has acknowledged that those who believe the Bible is inerrant and that it teaches, for example, that abortion is wrong aren’t likely to accept his ‘ground rules for collaboration.’ So as the campaign reaches out to religious voters, the discussion typically steers clear of such controversial subjects. (Is it just me or does that seem somewhat deceptive in nature—I want your vote but I’m not going to discuss positions that you are probably going to disagree with?—my addition) On a recent Saturday morning at a campaign organized ‘faith forum’ in rural South Carolina, the subject didn’t come up at all.”

The article does not explain what Senator Obama means by declaring that “the Bible is not a ‘static text’.” The article does not explain if these “new revelations” that Senator Obama believes he must be open to are revelations he receives from studying the Bible as the WORD of GOD or revelations that he believes he receives outside of the Bible. The article gives the distinct impression that Senator Obama DOES NOT BELIEVE that the Bible is inerrant—free from error (Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, tenth edition; Merriam-Webster, Incorporated; Springfield, Massachusetts, U.S.A. © 1995; page 596).

If Senator Obama DOES NOT BELIEVE that the Bible is error free, just where is his faith? Is his faith really in JESUS, the SON of GOD, or is his faith in himself? Does he believe that he is allowed to rewrite GOD’S will to his own choosing? Is this another example of freedom of choice that he also trumpets for women to justify the MURDER of unborn babies? Is this an arrogant belief on his part? He knows more than GOD and the WORD that GOD has provided to us!!!

The Bible proclaims “In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil men and imposters will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” II Timothy 3: 12-17 (NIV)

Note specifically these three major pronouncements from this passage of Scripture. “All Scripture is God-breathed.” Man, including Barack Obama, does not have the right or power to rewrite Scripture. “(Scripture) is useful for teaching (including teaching Senator Obama—my addition), rebuking (including rebuking Senator Obama—my addition), correcting (including correcting Senator Obama—my addition), and training in righteousness (including training Senator Obama—my addition).” And that “evil men and imposters will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.” Is Senator Barack Obama deceiving and being deceived?” Is it not Biblically true that ANYONE who supports and promotes the MURDER of unborn children and supports and promotes homosexual activity is “going from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.” The Bible supports such a conclusion!!!

It is not surprising that Senator Obama believes the WORD of GOD can be rewritten to suit his own desires. He has supported and promoted the rewriting of the U.S. Constitution by Supreme Court decision for years. If the Constitution can be rewritten by obscene decisions that promote the MURDER of the unborn and a wall of separation between church and State, why not rewrite the WORD of GOD to suit your own selfish goals and ambitions?

Tonight’s comments:

According to the World article (page 18), retired minister Joe “Lowery, 82, compared Obama to John the Baptist.” Also according to the article (page 18), “The Illinois Senator has compared himself to a modern-day Joshua who longs to lead the American people into the Promised Land.” The article (page 18) further declares “that he draws encouragement from God’s Old Testament words to Joshua to ‘be strong and have courage, for I am with you wherever you go.’” Finally, the article states that Senator Obama “imagined the stories of ordinary black people merging with the stories of David and Goliath, Moses and Pharaoh, the Christians in the lion’s den, (Daniel in the lion’s den is in the Bible. “Christians in the lion’s den” is not—my addition) Ezekiel’s field of dry bones….’”

John the Baptist, Joshua, David, Moses, Daniel as well as the early Christians, and Ezekiel had at least two things in common. They not only had faith in GOD and demonstrated that faith by their words and actions but they also were OBEDIENT to GOD’S will. None of them declared that they had the power and/or the authority to reinterpret GOD’S divine will to suit their own purposes.

“‘Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your forefathers worshiped beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD.’” Joshua 14-15 (NIV)

“And the people said to Joshua, ‘We will SERVE the Lord our God and OBEY him.’” Joshua 24: 24 (NIV) “Israel SERVED the Lord throughout the lifetime of Joshua and of the elders who outlived him and who had experienced everything the Lord had done for Israel.” Joshua 24: 31 (NIV)

Is it SERVING the LORD to support and promote the MASS MURDER of UNBORN BABIES and to support and promote homosexual activity? Is it OBEYING the LORD to support and promote the MASS MURDER of UNBORN BABIES and to support and promote homosexual activity? Is it blasphemy to claim or to even imply that the LORD is “with you wherever you go” when you support and promote the MASS MURDER of UNBORN BABIES and support and promote homosexual activity?

One of the Ten Commandments includes “You shall not murder.” Exodus 20: 13 (NIV) Leviticus 20: 13 (NIV) declares “‘If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.’” The New Testament has at least twenty-five distinct references which either condemns homosexual behavior as a sin or else references marriage as being between a man and a woman.

Since Barack Obama dares to compare himself to Joshua and dares to claim that GOD is with him, shouldn’t he also dare to be OBEDIENT to GOD’S will as Joshua was? No one who is not OBEDIENT to GOD will ever lead anyone to any positive end. He will only lead them to spiritual death and condemnation. “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” Galatians 6: 7-8 (NIV)

Since Barack Obama also mentioned Ezekiel, he should be reminded of this section of the Book of Ezekiel. “At the end of seven days the word of the Lord came to me: ‘Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. When I say to a wicked man, ‘You will surely die,’ and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin and I will hold you accountable for his blood. But if you do warn the wicked man and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his evil ways, he will die for his sin; but you will have saved yourself.’” Ezekiel 3: 16-19 (NIV)

How is a wicked man warned today? Is it not through the word of GOD—the Bible—and through Christians speaking out and warning people of their sin based upon the word of GOD—the Bible?

“‘Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and does evil, and I put a stumbling block before him, he will die. Since you did not warn him, he will die for his sin. The righteous things he did will not be remembered, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. But if you do warn the righteous man not to sin and he does not sin, he will surely live because he took warning, and you will have saved yourself.’” Ezekiel 3: 20-21 (NIV)

How is a righteous man warned today? Is it not through the word of GOD—the Bible—and through Christians speaking out and warning people of their sin based upon the word of GOD—the Bible?

I do not know Barack Obama’s heart. No one on this planet does, for certain, except for Barack Obama himself and for GOD. I do know that GOD has proclaimed through HIS word that murder is a sin. I do know that GOD has proclaimed through HIS word that homosexual activity is a sin. I do know that Barack Obama does not have the right or the power to rewrite GOD’S word. I do know that it is my responsibility as a Christian and every other Christian’s responsibility to warn those who are sinning against GOD’S will that they are sinning.

This is my warning to those who support the MURDER of unborn babies and support homosexual activities—you are supporting sin. It is now your responsibility to repent from that sin. Do you think Barack Obama will? Or is his heart so hardened that he no long acknowledges the supremacy of GOD over his own desires?

There is not one Biblical reference, which I know of, in the Old or New Testaments which is specifically neutral and/or positive toward homosexual activity or MURDER. Why does Barack Obama support and promote both of those sinful activities? Why would any Christian support a Presidential candidate who supports and promotes both of these sins? What are they thinking?

Have they rejected the WORD of GOD for their own selfish purposes? Now is the day to repent and return to the will of the only true GOD and CREATOR of all things!!!

About 20 people gathered in a meeting room at a small hotel in Greenwood, S.C., mostly from black Baptist churches in the area. At least six staffers from Obama’s state campaign met with the pastors and church members to discuss how faith affects politics, and to assure the group of Obama’s commitment to Christianity.

Most of the participants expressed concerns over issues like health care and unemployment in the economically depressed region. An elderly pastor with a strong voice and dark blue suspenders lamented his struggles to afford good health care: ‘Here we live in this big democratic country, and there ain’t no medicine for poor people.’ He spoke of choosing between buying food or prescription medicine. (If he is a working pastor, why isn’t his congregation providing him sufficient support and insurance that he supposedly has to make such a choice? Is it the government’s responsibility to care for its citizens as if they were children who need to be kept dependent upon gratuities? Are we trying to depend upon government largess rather than placing our dependence and faith upon GOD? Accepting “free” government largess which is never really free comes at a price. Perhaps the pastor should reread and apply Jesus’ parable about Lazarus and the rich man [Luke 16: 19-31 (NIV)]. I read nothing in that parable that says Lazarus should go running to the government for help. In fact, I read nothing in the Bible that says Christians should go running to the government for help. Isn’t our help suppose to come from GOD???—my addition) He recounted sometimes asking the pharmacist to fill only half a prescription so that he could afford it.

Campaign staffers told the group about Obama’s plan for health care. The candidate favors a universal health-care proposal similar to those of Democratic opponents Clinton and John Edwards: It requires employers to provide insurance to employees, but also allows individuals to purchase their own insurance from a regulated marketplace of competing health plans.

The plan would also offer incentives for improving preventive care, and provide subsidies for individuals who cannot afford health-care premiums. (Some day soon I hope to write a blog or two about health care.—my addition) Obama says the plan would cost the federal government $50 to $60 billion a year once fully implemented. (As a general rule, these figures should be automatically doubled or tripled as such estimates tend to be grossly low-balled. Also expect the cost to increase significantly year after year.—my addition) Like Clinton and Edwards, he says he’ll pay for the plan by allowing tax cuts to expire for those making over $250,000 a year. (Without actually researching it, I doubt that such a plan will actually come close to paying for the actual increased costs. But then, Democrats tend to be very good at spending money but not real good at having the money to spend.—my addition)

Obama concedes his plan is not substantially different from his opponents’ plans, except for one thing: The Clinton and Edwards plans would make coverage mandatory for all Americans. Obama says he wants to make sure coverage is affordable before it is mandatory. (Then, it will become mandatory and also less affordable? Which comes first the increasing cost or the restrictive provisions?—my addition)

Obama also proposes $80 billion in annual tax relief for lower-income Americans and senior citizens. He proposes eliminating taxes on seniors earnings less than $50,000 a year, a plan that would affect about 22 million elderly people. He says he would pay for the cuts by raising the rates on capital gains and dividends for wealthy investors.

All of that sounds good to Renea Little, who sits at a small table in the hotel conference room, talking about why she volunteered for Obama’s campaign. Little has lived in Greenwood her entire life and is currently unemployed in a region that suffered a severe economic blow with the decline of the U.S. textile industry. She thinks Obama ‘will bring us all hope.’ (Well, not quite everyone, he will bring NO hope to unborn babies who will continue to be MURDERED by their mothers.—my addition)

Little is a member of a nearby Baptist church and says it’s important to know that a candidate believes in God. (Is belief in GOD more important than obedience to GOD’S will?—my addition) She liked what she heard about Obama’s faith during the forum, but when asked if his positions on abortion or homosexuality are troubling to her, Little’s countenance slightly falls. She asks in a lowered voice: ‘Is he for those things?’ (YES, he is!!! Has she stopped working for his campaign? How can anyone claiming to be a Christian support a candidate who supports and promotes the MURDER of unborn babies and sinful homosexual activities??? “… and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.” I John 3: 15b [NIV]—my addition)

Obama has consistently talked about reducing the number of abortions (If there is nothing wrong with abortions, why is that necessary???—my addition) and increasing the number of adoptions, but also consistently supported legalized abortion. As an Illinois state senator during 2001 and 2002, he voted against the Illinois Born Alive Infants Protection Act, a bill aimed at protecting babies who survive abortions. (His position: if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again???—my addition)

The senator cited concerns over the legislation’s provision for civil and criminal penalties for offending doctors. (Any concern for the MURDERED baby???—my addition) The legislation failed in Illinois, but a similar bill passed on the federal level in 2002.

Earlier this year Obama condemned the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the ban on partial-birth abortion, saying he feared it ‘will embolden state legislatures to enact further measures to restrict a woman’s right to choose.’ (A woman does not have and will never have the right to choose to MURDER her unborn baby. His very words condemn him. Barack Obama received a 100% positive rating by Planned Murderhood in 2006.—my addition) But on the trail he rarely mentions abortion, instead focusing on issues more likely to drive the next election; chiefly, the war in Iraq.

Obama repeatedly reminds voters that he was the only leading Democratic candidate against the war from the beginning. He opposed the war in 2002 while still a state senator in Illinois. After winning a U.S. Senate seat in 2004, Obama initially hesitated about supporting a timetable for withdrawing troops. When Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) called for such a timetable in 2005, Obama resisted. ‘I’m not a military man,’ (and he wants to be Commander in Chief?-my addition) he told the Chicago Tribune. ‘I’m not running the war in Iraq.’

Last summer, Obama voted against a plan to withdraw troops within a year. One year later, as a presidential candidate, Obama has proposed a very specific timetable for withdrawal: Now he has called for withdrawing a brigade a month, with all combat troops withdrawn from Iraq by the end of 2008. (I guess from 2005 to today, he has become a military man?—my addition)

Clinton and Edwards are also calling for troop withdrawals, and the three front-runners often compete to see who opposes the war most. As with health insurance and the economy, their plans are much the same. With such similar positions on so many issues so close to the Democratic primaries, Alania Beverly, Obama’s deputy political director in South Carolina, admits the race will ultimately boil down to the character of the man—or woman (ALL the Democratic presidential candidates support the MURDER of unborn babies!!! How are they defining character???—my addition): ‘It’s going to come down to who has the political will to get it done.’”

The following portion of the article is from World magazine, October 6, 2007, pages 18-20. (Page 19 is a full sized picture of Barack Obama.) The first portion of the article:

“Moments before Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) bounded onto the stage at a campaign rally in downtown Atlanta late last month, retired minister and civil-rights icon Joe Lowery offered an opening prayer: ‘Lord, we are here tonight because when we sing ‘My Country ‘Tis of Thee,’ we see too much misery.’

The 2,200 supporters gathered in a ballroom at the Georgia World Congress Center responded with chuckles and scattered applause. But the chuckles turned into a resounding ‘Amen’ when Lowery, 82, compared Obama to John the Baptist. Lowery prayed for the success of his presidential run, concluding ‘in the name of justice.’

Obama finally took the stage two hours after the doors opened and delivered a well-worn stump speech with the enthusiasm and cadence of a preacher. The crowd cheered in agreement when the Democratic presidential candidate spoke of being ‘my brother’s keeper.’

Religious language and themes aren’t new for the Obama campaign. The Illinois Senator has compared himself to a modern-day Joshua who longs to lead the American people into the Promised Land. (There is only one Promised Land for Christians and it doesn’t come from the United States government!—my addition [Obviously, this is where I decided to start adding comments. Mr. Obama is clearly misusing the concept of the Promised Land and it is just as clear that he is implying that he is GOD inspired. NO ONE WHO IS GOD INSPIRED SUPPORTS and PROMOTES the MURDER of UNBORN BABIES—my additional addition]) Earlier this year, Obama told an A.M.E. congregation in Selma, Ala., that he draws encouragement for God’s Old Testament words to Joshua to ‘be strong and have courage, for I am with you wherever you go.’

Any candidate needs strength and courage for a presidential run, but Obama recognizes that he also needs faith. He protests the notion that faith and politics must remain separate, and chastises fellow Democrats for abandoning religious ideas in the public square.

Less than three months before the presidential primaries begin, Obama is trailing front-runner Hillary Clinton in the polls, but he is pressing religion more than any of his Democratic opponents: He openly offers his account of converting to Christianity, has delivered at least two major speeches on faith and politics, and is aggressively courting support from churches and individual Christians. (What happened to the “separation of church and State” nonsense that libertine Democrats including Obama are usually so quick to parrot???—my addition)

The Obama strategy is key to distinguishing himself from Clinton, who shares nearly identical policy positions on issues like health care, economics, and the war in Iraq. The goal is clear: Gain an edge by tapping into a segment of religious voters that Democrats have largely ignored in the past; insist that conservative Christians should compromise on principle for the sake of consensus. (Why??? He is not willing to compromise. He wants capitulation!!!—my addition) In his words, the ‘so-called leaders of the Christian right’ are ‘hijacking’ faith and ‘all too eager to exploit what divides us.’ (One of the major items that divide us is his insistence that it is proper to MURDER unborn babies!!!—my addition)

Apart from commending conservative evangelicals for drawing attention to the African crisis in Darfur and over AIDS, Obama makes it clear that he doesn’t often agree with the religious right. Yet he has sought consensus among Christian leaders well known in conservative circles—appearing late last year at a church-sponsored event to combat AIDS with mega-church pastor and Purpose Driven Life author Rick Warren.

Obama also strikes themes that resonate with conservative evangelicals. He speaks about the importance of family and individual responsibility in addressing poverty, AIDS, and unwanted pregnancies. He stresses the urgency of cultivating strong fathers in the black community and says the government is no substitute for good dads. (What do his policies speak to? Are his proposed policies and his uttered words the same or are they different?—my addition.) He also speaks about the importance of his own family, including his wife of 14 years, Michelle, a Harvard –educated attorney he met while working at a law firm in Chicago. The couple still live in Chicago with their two daughters, ages 9 and 6.

When Obama delivered a speech about faith and politics at the Call to Renewal conference organized by left-leaning evangelical Jim Wallis and others, he told the group that Democrats need to compete for the support of Christians. (Again, what happened to that “wall of separation of church and State” that libertine Democrats always trumpet? It seems they only believe that lie when it is convenient for their purposes!!!—my addition) ‘Secularists are wrong when they ask believers to leave their religion at the door before entering the public square.’ (He is right about that!!! The problem is, does he actually believe it or is this a convenience???—my addition) But he also challenges conservative Christians to ‘accept some ground rules for collaboration’ (Whose ground rules? His???—my addition) with those with whom they disagree.

Specifically, Obama believes conservatives should be willing to compromise on the issues of abortion and civil unions for homosexuals. (Doesn’t he really mean capitulate and reject and/or ignore the basic Biblical truth that both—the MURDER of unborn babies and homosexual practices—are GOD condemned sins!!!!!!!?—my addition) The candidate vigorously supports both.

In his political memoir The Audacity of Hope, Obama, 46, makes clear that his religious views, like his political ones, are progressive and liberal. (If he is a Christian, shouldn’t his religious views be to be obedient to GOD according to HIS will not according to his own views?—my addition) Nearly 20 years ago, he joined the United Church of Christ (UCC), a self-described ‘progressive’ denomination that was the first to openly ordain homosexuals. In 2005, the UCC passed a resolution supporting gay marriage. (Like other Democratic front-runners, Obama says he doesn’t support gay marriage, but advocates civil unions for homosexual couples.) [He may not advocate it now but homosexuals do. Do you think they will be satisfied with civil unions? If they achieve civil unions, you and I and they know that the next thing they will be demanding is homosexual marriage—they have mastered the art of incremental progression to achieve their ultimate goals. After marriage is allowed, they will no doubt attempt to achieve a lowering of the age of consent—you know the old “consenting adult” lie!!!—my addition]

Obama and his wife are long-time members of Trinity UCC, an 8,500 member congregation in Chicago that represents the largest predominantly black church in the denomination.

But Obama didn’t always identify himself as a Christian. The senator grew up in Hawaii and Indonesia, raised by grandparents and a single mother who later remarried. Obama’s father, a Kenyan whom he met only a short time before his death, grew up a nominal Muslim but embraced atheism later in life. Obama’s mother encouraged her son to learn about all religions—he attended both Islamic and Catholic schools—but was skeptical of religious systems.

Obama embraced his mother’s skepticism and didn’t seriously consider religion until after college when he took a job as a community organizer for a group of inner-city churches in Chicago. He visited Trinity UCC on a Sunday morning in 1988 and heard pastor Jeremiah Wright deliver a sermon called ‘The Audacity of Hope.’ ‘And during the course of that sermon, he introduced me to someone named Jesus Christ,’ says Obama. ‘I learned that my sins could be redeemed.’

Obama says he embraced Christianity and was especially drawn to Wright’s emphasis on black liberation theology: The pastor interpreted the Bible as a story of struggles of black people and emphasized social justice. (I don’t know of any portion of the Bible that discusses the specifics of the “color” of people. The Bible discusses languages but I don’t know of any discussion of “color.” Where exactly are those passages of Scripture?—my addition)

‘Inside the thousands of churches across the city, I imagined the stories of ordinary black people merging with the stories of David and Goliath, Moses and Pharaoh, the Christians in the lion’s den, (Daniel in the lion’s den is in the Bible. “Christians in the lion’s den” is not—my addition) Ezekiel’s field of dry bones,’ Obama wrote in his autobiography Dreams from my Father. ‘Those stories of survival, and freedom, and hope—became our story, my story.’

Obama’s story continued to unfold at Harvard, where he earned a law degree in 1991 and became the first black student to head the prestigious Harvard Law Review. (How did he get accepted into Harvard?—my addition) While practicing as a civil-rights lawyer and teaching constitutional law (As a constitutional law teacher you would think that he would know that the U.S. Constitution does not mandate a separation of church and State and that that same Constitution DOES NOT allow for the MURDER of unborn babies. You would think that he would know this!!!—my addition), Obama served in the Illinois state Senate for eight years. In 2004, he became just the third African-American elected to the U.S. Senate (This is somewhat misleading since his mother is Caucasian.—my addition) since Reconstruction, and his widely praised keynote address (praised by libertine Democrats and the libertine press—my addition) at the 2004 Democratic National Convention established him as a rising star (What legislative accomplishments has he achieved???—my addition) in the party.

Today when Obama speaks about faith, he still focuses on human struggle and the need for social change, but he doesn’t focus only on race. And since running for the White House he has distanced himself from his pastor’s political views: Wright often preaches in scorching terms about ‘the Great White West,’ and he declared that 9/11 was the result of violent American policies.”

My previous post dealt with seven things that GOD hates. To repeat a portion of that post to begin tonight’s post:

Proverbs 6: 16-19 (NIV) “There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to Him:
(1) haughty eyes,
(2) a lying tongue,
(3) hands that shed innocent blood,
(4) a heart that devises wicked schemes,
(5) feet that are quick to rush to evil,
(6) a false witness who pours out lies,
(7) and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.” (I added the numbers to the verses.—my addition)

“Number three: ‘hands that shed innocent blood.’ As we said awhile ago, sin is defined in the Scriptures as ‘transgression of the law’ (1 John 3 and [verse—my addition] 4). It is called ‘disobedience.’ Sometimes it is defined as ‘missing the mark,’ or ‘rebellion.’ All such behavior is offensive to God, but the greatest single affront to God is the sin of murder. Our first thoughts take us back to the very first pages of the Bible (Genesis chapter 4) to the story of Cain and Abel. Cain, in a fit of jealousy killed his brother, at which time God (not the Supreme Court of the United States; not man, but God) pronounced the death penalty on the murderer. In Genesis 9: 6, He said, God said, ‘Whoever sheds man's blood, by man his blood shall be shed: For in his image He made man.’ That law has never been revoked or modified. This passage in Proverbs is often used to show the terrible sinfulness of abortion, legally taking the lives of more than one million little, helpless, innocent, pre-born or partially born babies in America every year. And certainly it does that. In the light of the Scripture, abortion is indefensible, my friend. A mother's freedom of choice over her own body is not the question. It's a question of her freedom to shed innocent blood, even if it is the blood (the life) of her own child. Legalized abortion is our national shame today for which we must be brought to our knees in repentance. We can never hope to convert our society of violence and fear that we are living in today into one of peace and tranquility until we have reversed Roe v Wade.” (“In Search of the Lord’s Way”)

Even with the untiring efforts of the ACLU and similar groups to remove the Ten Commandments from the public arena, I think almost every adult knows that one of the Ten Commandments includes “You shall not murder.” Exodus 20: 13 (NIV) The Bible has other condemning statements in relation to MURDER including:

“‘For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.’” (Spoken by JESUS, the SON of GOD—my addition) Matthew 15: 19 (NIV)

“Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.” I John 3: 15 (NIV)

“‘But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.’” (Spoken by GOD, the CREATOR of the universe and all that is—my addition) Revelation 21: 8 (NIV)

If you think about it, every person who supports and promotes the MURDER of UNBORN BABIES probably has also and probably also continues to commit some, if not all, of the other six things that GOD has declared that HE hates. Do they not also tend to have haughty eyes? Do they not also tend to have a lying tongue? Do they not also tend to have a heart that devises wicked schemes? Do they not also tend to have feet that are quick to rush to evil? Do they not also tend to be a false witness who pours out lies? Do they not also tend to be a man who stirs up dissension among brothers? Do they not tend to do all of these others sins to support and promote the MURDER of UNBORN BABIES?

The following is what JESUS told some of the people of Israel: “‘You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.’” (Spoken by JESUS, the SON of GOD—my addition) John 8: 44 (NIV) Does this declaration from the SON of GOD also apply to those poor souls who also, one way or another, support and promote the shedding of innocent blood by supporting and promoting the MURDER of UNBORN CHILDREN?

This may seem extremely harsh but it is also true. Every person from the:
1) first Supreme Court Justices who declared the murder of unborn babies to be legally acceptable,
2) to the individuals who originally supported and promoted such murders,
3) to the doctors, assistant medical personnel, and office staff who perform the murders, 4) to the potential mothers who seek and demand the murders,
5) to the potential fathers who encourage the murders and help make the possibility of the murders a reality,
6) to the politicians who continue to support and promote the murders,
7) to the voters who continue to vote for those who support and promote the murders,
8) to the pill manufacturers and distribution network who now distribute MURDER pills to make it easier to murder an unborn baby,
9) to the Christians and non-Christians who remain silent, for whatever reason, while the mass murders continue

are GUILTY, to one extent or another, in this continuing MASS MURDER of unborn children. As James 4: 17 rightly declares: “Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins.”

And unfortunately, I, at one time, was a member of that group. I voted for politicians who supported and promoted the murder of unborn children. I remained silent as the MASS MURDER of unborn children continued.

However, there is a way out. And fortunately, I accepted that way out. I REPENTED of my SIN. Because of that repentance, I must now speak out against this monstrous sin and all Christians must do the same! And everyone else who is included in that group has the opportunity before GOD to do the same.

Proverbs 6: 16-19

Some of the brightest lines between right and wrong in our society have become blurred. It has taken time, but it is very graphically called to our attention in the news media day after day. Yet, there is hope. That is our study today. Thank you for joining us.

Greetings to you my friend. Welcome to our program of Bible study In Search of the Lord's Way. There is a passage in the Old Testament book of Proverbs that speaks of some ‘hateful things,’ or some things God hates. We like to think of God as a God of ‘love,’ not hate. Oh, He is that alright; but when God loves something, it has to follow that He hates its extreme opposite, doesn’t it? So, there are some things God hates. It would be good to know what those things are, wouldn't you say? Such knowledge just might mean that, well; we would not fall into them somewhere along the way. We are calling today’s message ‘Seven Things God Hates’ from the reading of Proverbs chapter 6, verses 17, 18 and 19.

“We are reading today from the Old Testament book of Proverbs, chapter 6. We will begin at verse 16. ‘These six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him: (1) a proud look,
(2) a lying tongue,
(3) hands that shed innocent blood,
(4) a heart that devises wicked plans,
(5) feet that are swift in running to evil,
(6) a false witness who speaks lies,
(7) and one who sows discord among brethren.’ (I added the numbers to the verses—my addition) Now we will go to God in prayer. Father in heaven, we are so thankful that You have shown us a better way to live in Your word. And the things that would be pitfalls and injurious to us You have revealed to us so that we can avoid them. And the better way of life You have shown to us so that we can live it with the greatest measure of happiness and security here in this world, and then come to rest at the end of life believing that we have done Your will with the assurance that we can live with You through eternity. We thank You, Father. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

The scripture we are studying today is a powerful expression of the mind of God about some things that are all too common to human behavior today. It is an Old Testament Scripture, and someone says, ‘I've always heard you folks in the churches of Christ don't believe in the Old Testament.’ Sorry about that, you have heard wrong. The Bible is the word of God, all of it both Old Testament and New Testament, and we believe and preach all of it. Romans chapter 15, verse 4 the Holy Spirit does say, ‘Whatever was written before [and that would be the Old Testament period] was written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.’ It is true, Jesus Christ fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies and, ‘having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us…He has taken it out of the way and nailed it to the cross’ (Colossians 2, verse 14).

Solomon was inspired of the Holy Spirit to write the Proverbs centuries before Christ was born in Bethlehem. And God's attitude toward things mentioned in this passage has not changed at all over the years. Social conditions may change, moral codes may change, man's attitude toward those hateful things may change, but God's attitude never changes. This passage is as relevant as if it were the last verse of the Bible, the last revelation God gave to us.

A good positive mental attitude is essentially a part of Christ's religion. The Christian is taught to think on the things that are true, and honest, and just, and pure, and lovely, and the things that are of good report (Philippians 4 and [verse—my addition] 8), and be thankful for those things. But, he is able to be informed of the evil things and he needs to have information about those negative forces, so he may avoid them and not fall victim to them. There comes a time when the most positive person in the world needs to face the reality of some of the darker things in life. If that growth on my ear or on my back is cancerous, it would be good for me to know it and give it the attention that is due it. If the habit I'm forming is addictive and damning, it would be good for me to know that, too, and face up to the dark reality of it, and if someone would point that out to me, he would be a blessing to me. Don’t you think?

So this passage says that there are six things that God hates; then a seventh is added, maybe as an afterthought, but more than likely and probably it is to suit the eastern poetic form, or the style of that day. Seven in this instance is not to be taken as a definite number, so as to exclude all other transgressions. No one should feel flattered because his sin isn't mentioned among these. All transgression of God's law is sin (1 John 3 and [verse—my addition] 4) and God hates all of it. Because God hates sin should be the reason enough for any of us to condemn it in the strongest ways possible, not only because He will surely and certainly punish all sin, but because it separates us from Him, and destroys a lovely relationship with Him as the Father of our spirits.

The passage says, ‘These six things does the Lord hate; yea, seven are an abomination to Him.’ That is strong language, isn’t it? Let's see what they are, so we may avoid them, what do you say?

‘A proud look’ is number one. God hates a proud look. The New American Standard Version says ‘haughty eyes’ in that verse. Say, that gets personal doesn't it? It gets pretty close to some of us, even the fellow who is proud of his humility. It's hard to live in a world that puts a premium on pride, and not develop a proud look. When we are taught from infancy almost, to be number one, and we are struggling and striving to be number one, it's hard not to act like it. In fact, we are told that the first step in becoming number one in anything is to act like you are number one. Well, what are we talking about? We are talking about that spirit or attitude that springs from an awareness of physical, intellectual, social, or spiritual superiority. The consciousness of superior strength, or beauty, or learning, or eloquence, or prominence of rank, or achievement that shows itself in a disdainful tone of voice, or a cutting remark, or some exclusive behavior. God hates that sort of thing. Perhaps He hates it because He sees something there that we don't always see. It is essentially a false thing. It is self-praise which is not really due, therefore, it is false. It projects a false image of one's self, and it's unbecoming. Any time any person who raises his eyebrow at another because of his color, or education, or wealth, or position—well, for any reason, it's unbecoming and unlovely. A proud look is also a cruel thing, cruel and thoughtless and inconsiderate. It wounds and it wounds deeply, and it wounds the most sensitive souls the worst. When Jesus was asked who is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven, He called a little child and set him in the midst of them and said, ‘Whosoever shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven.’ (Matthew 18: 4—my addition) Yes, ‘The Lord resists the proud, but He gives graces to the humble.’ (James 4 and [verse—my addition] 6).

Number two: God also hates ‘A Lying Tongue.’ Proverbs 12: 22 says, ‘Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord; but those who deal truthfully are His delight.’ Abomination means disgusting. Perhaps one of the reasons why a lying tongue is so despicable in the sight of God is that He knows that ‘out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks’ (Matthew 12: 34). A lying tongue betrays a deceitful heart. We all misunderstand the words and actions of other people at times. Of course, we do. Misunderstanding is bad enough, even though it might be excused, but, to fabricate a story (I mean just plainly and simply sit down and conceive an out right lie) for whatever pretended high and noble purpose and go out and tell it against someone for personal gain or glory or advantage over him, is the most despicable and shameful thing people do. God hates that sort of thing, not only because it destroys the good name and the usefulness of the one against whom the lie is told, but because it's also ruinous to the soul of him who does it. A person who falls into that kind of habit is self-destructive. God has said, ‘All liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone; which is the second death’ (Revelation 21, verse 8).

Number four: God hates ‘A heart that devises wicked plans.’ These are the people who use their inventiveness and their skills, not for the good of other people, not even for the good of their own families, but as the robber on the road to Jericho (Luke 10) they use their ingenuity to bring other people to distress and ruin. Whatever may be their motive, base gain, mere profit, to wield their power, or just because they are big enough to do it, or in the position to do it, they prey upon and seek the destruction of any one who crosses their wicked ways. The child molesters, the pornographers, the muggers, the rapists, those who for profit or for pleasure or just for misuse and abuse of other people fall into this condemnation.

Number five: Closely akin to them are the ‘feet that are swift in running to evil.’ The evil heart devises wicked imaginations and the feet are swift to carry out that wickedness. These are the people who consort together to do evil. They tell lies, they plan mischief and they do evil with no regard for the innocent people around them and that are involved in their mischief. You remember the school ‘bully,’ don’t you? Oh, every school I ever attended had one, and I assume all the others did—and still do. In my day he used his fists and his victims would have to get up off the ground and dust themselves off and rub their blackened eye. But nowadays he may be carrying a gun or some other dangerous weapon and his victim may wake up in the emergency room of the hospital somewhere. Well, the school bully grew up; graduated from the university, found a position in business, in social circles, often in the church, but he's still what he was then—the bully. He may use a gun or a knife or he may use the printing press or his money to throw himself around. And God hates that kind of behavior. It is the very opposite of what He would have us to be and do.

Number 6: ‘a false witness who speaks lies.’ It is generally understood that the Holy Spirit is speaking here of the act of ‘perjury,’ giving false testimony in a court of law. And there is no doubt that perjury is included here, but perhaps there's still another (more common) way a person can give false witness against another. What about propagating a lie about someone, because we have no proof of this validity; it is still a lie. We hear something that is totally untrue, we bear witness to it by telling it to other people with no thought at all of learning first whether it's true. Such a person didn't create the lie. He didn't personally fabricate the lie, but he gave it credence by repeating it as though it was the truth and he knew it was the truth. God hates that sort of thing, and that person will find himself in the same place as the liar, and that is the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

The last of these seven things that God hates is the practice of ‘sowing discord among brethren.’ The New American Standard Version says, ‘One who spreads strife among brothers.’ ‘Blessed are the peacemakers,’ says the Lord. ‘Cursed are the mischief makers,’ says our text. Another Proverb (chapter 16, verse 28) says, ‘A perverse man soweth strife, and a whisperer separateth chief friends.’ Another says, ‘Make no friendship with an angry man, and with a furious man do not go, lest you learn his ways and set a snare for your soul’ (Proverbs 22: 24-25). Sowing discord among people is bad, bad business, friend. It's bad in social and business circles. It is even worse in the home, but it's at its very worst in the church. The Bible defines such discord and division among those who call themselves Christians as a work of the flesh that will keep a person out of Heaven (Galatians 5, verses 19 to 21). Let us pray. Thank You, Lord, for reminding us of the pitfalls into which we might stumble if we are not careful. Bless this lesson to every person listening to help us all to live closer to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Let us remember the things that God says He hates, yea, the things that are written in His book that are an abomination in His eyes, (1) a proud look, (2) a lying tongue, (3) hands that shed blood, innocent blood, (4) a heart that devises wicked imaginations, (5) feet that are swift in running to mischief, (6) a false witness that speaks lies, and (7) the person who sows discord among brethren. He hates them because whatever the pretense or disguise under which they are practiced, however noble their professed intentions are supposed to be, they are the works of the devil, himself. The practice of them will cause people to be lost in Hell. And, they destroy a person's beautiful and loving relationship and friendship with others—and with the Heavenly Father. There is a better way. It is the way of Christ that focuses man's attention and affection on things higher and more noble. His way offers man relief from the guilt of all such abominable behavior. Christ found people during his personal ministry whose lives were characterized with such evils as we have discussed today. And He invited them ‘come follow Me and I will give you rest’ (Matthew 11: 28). And that invitation is still open; it is open to you today, my friend. And it is the purpose of this program to encourage you to confess Jesus Christ today (Romans 10: 17), repent of (or, turn from) all such sins as that and be baptized in His name in obedience to His command for the forgiveness of your sins just as the Bible says in Acts 2: 38. Oh, I hope you will do that and do it promptly, will you—today maybe.

Recently, I’ve been involved in a problem one of my clients has with Farmers Insurance Group. My previous posts in relation to this problem were:

Tonight, I continue this series of posts with my letter to Farmers Insurance Group requesting more information so that I can hopefully help to settle this impasse. Unfortunately, my impression at this time is that the insurance company has decided to “dig in their heels” and not work to achieve a successful conclusion. I hope that is an incorrect impression but I have been doing this for awhile and at this point I am not very optimistic of an easy and quick solution. Following is the pertinent portion of the letter:

Dear Sir:

In order for me to understand the position of your company and the process that has occurred to this point, please provide me with the following information:

1) the company copy of the policy between Mr. and Mrs. ~~~~~~ and your company along with all addendums, additions, and other material changing the policy from its original inception.

2) the Declarations page that was current for the year of the claim.

3) a copy of the original claim filed after the incident

4) all written correspondence that has occurred between Mr. and Mrs. ~~~~~~ and your company since the claim was filed.

Furthermore, in your letter dated August 19, 2007; you requested “an itemized list of what is not resolved and the dollar amounts associated with the items.” It is my understanding that Mr. and Mrs. ~~~~~~ returned such a list that included twelve (12) separate and distinct items with the monetary total for each as well as a total amount equal to $13,049.09. The letter concluded by stating “All receipts were delivered to >>>> >>>>>> by >>>> >>>>>>>, insurance agent ….”

In your letter dated September 2, 2007 you responded to five of the twelve specific items listed by Mr. and Mrs. ~~~~~~. I will specifically deal with those five items once I receive the information requested above. However, I do need more clarification on certain items covered in your return letter. You stated “housing as you have it broken down has not been documented. There has not been any documentation submitted that evidences you actually incurred these costs.” You also stated “Additional documentation to support the cell phone usage and overage of what was normal is needed, as well as any further support for the food, housing, and cabinets.” Finally, some of the twelve listed items don’t seem to be addressed at all in your September 2, 2007 letter.

Mr. and Mrs. ~~~~~~ stated that they have provided receipts for all twelve of the items listed. Please specifically identify exactly what additional documentation is needed for each one of the twelve listed items including but not limited to the housing issue. I can not begin to provide the requested documentation until I know what you are requesting above and beyond the provided receipts.

Finally, you stated in your letter dated September 2, 2007 that “Any additional payments that may be made on this claim are subject to management approval.” Please provide me with the names and mailing address of the specific “management” that must approve any additional payments as well as the name and the mailing address of the CEO for Farmers Insurance Group. Thank you for providing all of the requested information.
