“State by State: We are Calling on every Governor to Defund Planned Parenthood and Defend Life!

The United States Congress has failed to defund Planned Parenthood. Now it’s time to follow the lead of Texas Governor Rick Perry and eliminate funding of Planned Parenthood on state levels!

Your tax dollars and mine are helping fund Planned Parenthood and its immoral agenda of providing abortions, teaching our children to have sex at a very early age, encouraging sodomy, condemning religious values, and eroding parental rights.

The use of our tax dollars for abortions and other immoral purposes is reprehensible and must be stopped!

Liberty Counsel Action’s targeted pro-life petition pointedly tells the nation’s 50 governors that we stand united to Defund Planned Parenthood!

We are taking our ‘Defund Planned Parenthood’ message to state capitals, the nation’s governors, and other influential state leaders! Our petition forces governors and others to see that the American people will not stand for the same arrogant dismissal of pro-life public opinion we have seen at the federal level!

Sign this powerful petition and join tens of thousands of other concerned pro-life citizens in telling your governor to DEFUND PLANNED PARENTHOOD AND DEFEND LIFE. This is a winning strategy!

The Petition states:

As a concerned pro-life American, I am calling on the governors of every state to initiate and seek to pass legislation that would eliminate taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood—the nation’s largest provider of abortions—and its many affiliate groups.

I adamantly oppose any government-sponsored program that will require me to pay for abortions with my tax dollars! Taxpayer-funded abortion is wrong for America and violates my deeply-held beliefs and those of the majority of America’s citizens.

From: Family Research Council www.frc.org

“Despite some reports showing Senator Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) as many as ten points ahead, counting out Representative Todd Akin (R-Mo.) would be a mistake. A new poll

http://www.wenzelstrategies.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/MO-Senate-Survey-Polling-Memorandum-8-28-2012.pdf

commissioned by the FRC Action PAC shows Akin pulling in front—despite the onslaught of media attacks. The survey, which was conducted by Wenzel Strategies, shows the Congressman with a three-percent (45% to 42%) lead—with 13% of voters undecided. Perhaps even more interesting, it looks like Independents are particularly supportive, giving Akin a 10-point advantage over what was once the Democrats’ most vulnerable seat. Fritz Wenzel analyzed the results of the survey and concluded that ‘Despite the firestorm of news in the Senate race over the past few weeks, most voters have already made up their mind in the race, the survey shows. The fact that 80% said they were firm in their choice certainly indicates that this is a race that will be decided more by ideology and turnout efforts by the campaigns and less by breaking news that flashes...’ Obviously, Missouri voters are getting back to the substance of the race and the clear contrast between Todd Akin and Claire McCaskill. Senator McCaskill came to the Senate claiming to govern from the center, but instead has been one of President Obama’s most loyal and liberal supporters. Although the Republican establishment is abandoning Akin over one misstatement (for which he apologized), FRC Action and the FRC Action PAC will continue to support Akin for a 12-year career built on solid conservative success.”

And this is exactly why this poll is probably more reliable than polls that have been released by the mass media. We all know or should know that the mass media supports progressives and they support candidates that are PRO-MURDER (AKA: pro-abortion). I’ve said for years, tell me the results you want with a poll and I will give you that result—based upon the questions asked, how they are asked, who is asked, and other ways to manipulate the results.

That’s why candidates and organizations take their own internal polls. They want an honest result so they know what the thinking of the voting population really is.

I knew a person in Arizona who was involved in a Governor election who loved to relate this story. The public polls were showing that the GOP Speaker of the House was winning the primary election by 20% or more. Meanwhile a conservative Democrat who had just changed parties was supporting the other, conservative GOP candidate. Every time a new poll would come out showing the Speaker leading by a significant margin, he would say the same thing. Our internal polls show that our candidate is actually leading by 4-6%.

Surprise, surprise. Come primary day, his candidate won the nomination. He also won the election in November. Internal polls tend to be more reliable than mass media polls because those who commission the internal polls want the TRUTH whether good or bad. By the way, it is my guess based upon how the Obama people are running their campaign that their internal polls show him LOSING by a significant margin at this time!!!

Todd’s surge is due in no small part to grassroots leaders like you from across the country who have stood up and said that they stand by Todd Akin’s philosophy of limited government, cutting spending, and leading the charge to preserve life.

There is still much to be done. While the momentum is on our side, Claire and her liberal allies from all over the country are pouring millions into Missouri to try and keep her in power.

“Dear Friend:

Melissa Ohden would have died in a trash bag on an abortion clinic floor—and Barack Obama would have done nothing to stop it.

That’s because if an abortion fails, and miraculously the child survives, Barack Obama doesn’t believe the child deserves to live.

Barack Obama was asked to decide on just that question and he voted NO.

You may be surprised to know that children survive attempted abortions more often than you think. And appallingly, as an Illinois State Senator, Barack Obama voted to deny any basic protections for babies born alive from an abortion—not once—but four times!

Susan B. Anthony list has produced an effective, hard-hitting television commercial

https://secure.donationreport.com/donate.html?key=M7FJWIWPQHEK

that tells the story of how Melissa Ohden that survived an attempted abortion—and how Barack Obama would have had doctors abandon her.

Once you view this heartfelt commercial I hope you will do all you can to ensure that everyone in America hears Melissa’s story.

That’s why I’m asking you to make an immediate contribution of $25, $50, $100 or more to the SBA List so that we can share the truth about Barack Obama’s record on abortion with key swing state voters across America.

https://secure.donationreport.com/donate.html?key=M7FJWIWPQHEK

Barack Obama’s hatred for pro-life policies is truly unsettling and voters in key swing states across America need to know the truth about his anti-life record. Our powerful television ad featuring our friend Melissa Ohden, an abortion survivor, not only tells the story of the evils of abortion ... but will also effectively expose Obama’s pro-abortion record. In her own words, Melissa shares her story about how she was aborted; her body discarded, and left for dead (the Obama policy) but was rescued by a loving nurse who would not let her die.

Is this the kind of ‘leadership’ that we expect to move America forward? Leadership that would discard the weakest among us?

Voters need to hear Melissa’s story—because we don’t want to live in Barack Obama’s version of America where Melissa, who survived a ‘doctor’s’ attempt to end her life, would have simply been discarded and left to die.

After viewing Melissa’s story, won’t you please make an immediate contribution of $25, $50, $100 or more so that we can put this ad on the air as soon as possible?

https://secure.donationreport.com/donate.html?key=M7FJWIWPQHEK

Friend, I’m counting on you to take action today. Without your support millions of people may never hear Melissa’s story!

I hope that after following this link, and viewing our ad, you'll understand just how impactful sharing this message with millions of Americans can be. Sometimes the truth hurts—and the truth is that Barack Obama has voted not once, not twice, but four times to deny any basic protections that would have granted equal constitutional protection to babies born alive after a failed abortion.

I ask myself every day—if concerned citizens don’t take bold actions to stop people like Barack Obama are we any better than him? Are we silently consenting to let people like Melissa die? That's why SBA List has produce this ad and that’s why, with your immediate help, we’re going to make sure that all Americans see it.

Please, we need your help today. Please watch our ad, think about Melissa's story, and take action today.

“Woman Conceived in Rape: Some Rape Claims Are False, Roe Was Based on One

by Rebecca Kiessling
Washington, DC
LifeNews.com
8/27/12 10:42 AM

This past week, Congressman Akin was publicly chastised for his comments on abortion in the case of rape, employing the controversial term ‘legitimate rape.’

There was outcry from the liberal left, and from moderate Republicans—an indignation that a candidate for U.S. Senate would dare imply that a woman’s claim of rape might not be legitimate, making him out to be a misogynist. Though I’ve previously written that the comment was a faux pas and unnecessarily uttered, I’d like to address the underlying implications of such a statement, which was very similar to Ron Paul’s phraseology about an ‘honest rape’ when he too was asked about abortion in the case of rape. Are legislators really to blame for implying that there are false claims of rape? Is there a history of illegitimate rape claims, particularly as it relates to this issue of pregnancy and rape? Do some women fabricate these claims? If so, who is to blame for any tendency in our society to question the veracity of rape victims’ accounts? Skeptical lawmakers, judges, juries, media, and the public, or the women who have cried wolf?

When I was in law school, I was a victim of domestic violence. A boyfriend from law school beat me up, breaking my jaw, knocking my teeth loose, chipping them, and crushing all of the bone in my upper jaw, which eventually resulted in the loss of my front tooth after much effort and surgeries to try to save it. I became a family law attorney because of what was done to me. As a young attorney, I was idealistic and naïve—absolutely indignant that any judge or Friend of the Court referee would dare question the claims of a victim of domestic violence. After all, she finally had the courage to leave the abusive situation after having been threatened, abused and terrorized. How on Earth could a judge or Friend of the Court referee doubt her account and refuse to grant, or dismiss, a Personal Protection Order? I thought that these people must be uncaring women-haters, showing deference only to men. Maybe they were even abusers themselves?

Then I gained experience. I had clients who I discovered were lying about their claims of domestic violence (What!—my addition). I had clients who specifically asked me, ‘Well, what if I say I was abused?’—wanting to know how that could affect custody, or getting him removed from the home so she wouldn’t have to live with her husband during their divorce. Finally, the reality struck me—these judges are skeptical because there are women who cry wolf. That’s when I began seeing the judges in a new light, and my resentment grew toward the women who lied. I saw the reality that my clients who really were abused had a difficult time with the court system because of these other women who were ruining it for the real victims (As always happens! SIN is within everyone! There are no perfect people! There are, however, forgiven people! —my addition).

After learning my front tooth would have to be pulled, an expert in cosmetic dentistry offered to restore my smile for free, as part of the Give Back A Smile Program for victims of domestic violence, through the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry—

www.aacd.com/index.php?module=cms&page=556

The bridge and eight teeth with porcelain veneers would have likely cost me around $20,000 to have done by this expert in advanced cosmetic dentistry.

www.forrestbryant.com

Hence, the program had to ensure that there wasn’t fraud. I had to have a certification from a domestic violence counselor that I’d spent time with her, that she believed my claim was legitimate, and that I’d been out of the relationship for at least one year. Was this because these people who wanted to help restore my smile were really misogynist wife-beaters themselves who heartlessly mistrusted a victim’s story? No, of course not! This is the result of women who have cried wolf—and I got scrutinized.

In my conversations with many people this past week, I repeatedly got asked the question from those who were honest in their reactions to the latest news frenzy: ‘Well, aren’t there women who lie about rape? What about the Duke LaCrosse team rape scandal?’ Margaret DiCanio, author of the book, The Encyclopedia of Violence: Origins, Attitudes, Consequences (1993), states that ‘while researchers and prosecutors do not agree on the exact percentage of false allegations, they generally agree on a range of 2% to 8%.’ Aren’t the ones who make the false rape claims prejudicing our society and hurting the 92 – 98% of rape victims who actually have legitimate rape claims, and doesn’t some of the blame rest on them? I believe so.

But what about the claims of pregnancy by rape? Do women lie about that? When I first learned that I was conceived in rape, I was 18, and I was devastated. My family and friends did not know how to relate to me. I was not given any kind of foundation in my life for dealing with this difficult truth, and they had no foundation themselves for offering real assistance. So they took the easiest strategy, which was to tell me that it’s probably not true, ‘because a lot of women lie about becoming pregnant by rape.’

When I finally met my birthmother several months later, she shared the horrible details of the rape, having been abducted at knifepoint by a serial rapist and brutally raped. She basically walked me through the entire evening of the rape, including the aftermath. There was no question her account was true. Once again, I had to try to cope with the reality of it, and I still had some family members who suggested that it may have been fabricated. I got very upset with them. I intuitively knew how unfair it was for them to question the veracity of her account, just because they didn’t want to deal with the painful truth and because of their discomfort with the fact that my rape-conception could not be reconciled with their world-view and pro-choice values. But once they realized my birthmother’s account was true, their abortion stance was instantly changed.

But why would family and friends suggest such a thing—that there are women who lie about becoming pregnant through rape? Are there any well-known documented cases where this happened, as in the Duke LaCrosse team false rape claim case?

The answer to that question lies in the very foundation for the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case which legalized abortion in the U.S.—the false rape claim by Norma McCorvey—Jane Roe in Roe v Wade (Who has since repented and become PRO-LIFE!—my addition). This is her testimony on January 21, 1998, before the Subcommittee on the Constitution, Federalism, and Property Rights of the Senate Judiciary Committee:

‘My name is Norma McCorvey. I’m sorry to admit that I’m the Jane Roe of Roe v. Wade. The affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court didn’t happen the way I said it did, pure and simple. I lied! Sarah Weddington and Linda Coffey needed an extreme case to make their client look pitiable. Rape seemed to be the ticket. What made rape even worse? A gang rape! It all started out as a little lie, but my little lie grew and became more horrible with each telling.’

The largest illegitimate rape claim ever perpetrated in the history of our nation was the foundation for the filing of Roe v Wade, which led to abortion on demand in our country! So the next time you hear anyone complaining about Todd Akin’s ‘legitimate rape’ remark, I want you to remember that abortion rights activists are the women who cried wolf. They are the ones who are squarely responsible for the skepticism we see today regarding women who claim to be pregnant by rape, and they’ve set an example for other women to lie about it too. For those on the left who criticize Akin, I can assuredly call you out as hypocrites.

And for those who make the rape exception, some blame rests on you as well. After all, once you make a rape exception, you now have to set a standard in order to determine whether a claim of rape is legitimate so that the government will not be defrauded, as in the Hyde Amendment exceptions—when a woman wants to receive Medicaid funding to abort her child. Rape exceptions put the government in this position—whether they require a police report, social service agency report, or a doctor’s certification that he’s satisfied that her claim of rape is legitimate.

I’m a co-founder and board member of a newly-formed 501(c)(3), Hope After Rape Conception—

www.hopeafterrapeconception.org,

whose mission is to assist rape survivor mothers and their children. We seek to ensure that they are protected by law from the rapist having any parental rights, with model legislation posted on the site, and we also plan to post model guidelines for States so that rape survivor mothers will not be cut off from receiving state aid. This occurs all too often because federal and state laws require that a mother cooperate with the local child support enforcement division of the prosecutor’s office by naming the father. Some rape victims are unable to do so, and others are apprehensive about naming him because it could open the door for him to know about her child, and to be able to exercise parental rights. So part of our board members’ plans are to craft model guidelines . . . , which means that we’ll have the difficult task of recommending standards for states to set to determine whether a claim of rape is legitimate. Ah—there’s that word again!

As if that task is not sticky enough for a board composed of two rape survivor mothers, two members who were conceived in rape, and a grandmother of a child conceived when her minor daughter was raped, our future plans also include offering scholarships to rape survivor mothers and their children, as well as financial assistance to those who have been cut off from state aid. What this means is that we will be in the awkward position of having to ascertain ourselves whether a rape claim is legitimate. Juda Myers—someone who was also conceived in rape, runs a new organization called, ‘Choices 4 Life’—

www.choices4life.org,

which has presented ‘honor awards’ to rape survivor mothers and which seeks to raise funds to provide financial aid to these women. She recently shared with me that she has experienced fraud where women—dare I say—had illegitimate rape claims. So this is not foolhardy or myth, but a reality in this world that there are indeed women who lie about having become pregnant by rape.

It does take a lot of courage for survivors of rape and survivors of domestic violence to come forward with their stories and to seek protection and justice, and I’m very protective of my own birthmother in this regard. Last year, I had friends alert me to a chat room where someone was making the accusation that my birthmother’s story was false, and/or that my claim of having been conceived in rape was false. It’s frustrating and insulting that such accusations are made. It affects me, and it hurts other women as well. But when we discuss this issue, let us not forget, and let us remind others, who it is that fabricated the greatest illegitimate claim of rape which has ever been perpetrated in the U.S., and perhaps around the world. These abortion rights activists are the women who cried wolf.

LifeNews Note: Rebecca Kiessling is an attorney and noted pro-life speaker who was born after her mother was a victim of rape.”

Disregarding whether or not the Supreme Court even had the authority to decide the Roe v. Wade case and I would argue they did not, the Court made at least four major errors in reaching its decision.

1) The Court created a “Privacy” doctrine within the Constitution where none exists.

2) The Court declared that “we” do not know when life begins which is an outright LIE! I and every other high school student who is taught the truth in high school biology knows that life begins at conception. Before conception, it is impossible to have life (unless CREATED by GOD) and once conception occurs, unless there is a force outside the life development process stopping it, human life occurs EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!

3) The Court then errored on the side of MURDER instead on the side of life if, indeed, they did not know when life begins!!!

4) The Court made law by not only declaring that the State law was unconstitutional but going far beyond that and declaring what was acceptable as law. The Court has NO Constitutional authority to make law! NONE!!!

From the Republican Platform:

“ABORTION (AKA: MURDER of unborn babies—my addition):

The party states that ‘the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed.’ It opposes using public revenues to promote or perform abortion or to fund organizations that perform or advocate abortions. It says the party will not fund or subsidize health care that includes abortion coverage.

The Republican Party rightly condemns the MURDER of unborn babies and yet that same Party is refusing to support PRO-LIFE Todd Akin in his Senate campaign against a PRO-MURDER incumbent. What is tragically wrong with them!!!! Actions speak louder than words. Walk the walk if you are going to talk the talk!!! Want a third Party to take over in your place? Keep up this nonsense!!!

“Using Semantics to Take Down Conservative Representative Todd Akin

By Rachel Alexander

Liberal pundits are declaring they have no idea what Representative Todd Akin (R-Missouri) meant when he referred to ‘legitimate rape’ in an interview this past week. Akin stated, ‘In cases of legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.’ It was an awkward, inarticulate statement, but the substance of it was correct. Explaining what he meant since then would be a bit crude, so he has not been able to adequately defend himself. His attackers have used the awkwardness to pounce on him and pretend they don’t know what he meant, or make up even worse explanations.

Does anyone actually believe his critics? It may have been a poor choice of words, but everyone knows Akin was referring to the distinction between what we traditionally consider rape—forcible rape—versus statutory rape and what some claim is also rape, having sex while drunk. Some women will have a one night stand while drunk, admit it to their friends afterwards, then change their mind and declare that it was rape. The FBI updated its definition of rape this year to include the inability to give consent due to intoxication (Which is totally ridiculous and giving in to the Femi-Nazis! Who made the decision to become drunk?—my addition). Any woman who has been drinking can now claim afterwards that she was raped. This may have opened a Pandora’s Box (It has!—my addition) considering how many people drink alcohol before sex. The cliché ‘rape is rape’ no longer means what it says. The definition has now been broadened to include any woman alleging rape after she has been drinking.”

“Tellingly, Akin’s critics haven’t bothered disputing Akin’s real message, which is that less than one percent of rapes result in a pregnancy.

Akin immediately apologized for his remarks, clarifying later that he meant ‘forcible rape.’ He has been running 30-second TV ads around the state apologizing. David Roney of Pro-Life Arizona notes that Akin’s point was unborn babies shouldn’t be sacrificed to punish rapists. Aborting children because they were a product of a rape would have taken the lives of gospel singers Mahalia Jackson and Ethel Waters. Ryan Bomberger, also born of a rape, wrote about Akin for Life News (Which I posted in an earlier post—my addition), ‘I’m glad such a pro-family, pro-life stalwart, despite a few bumps and lots of scrapes, is not quitting under pressure from hypocritical pro-abortion radicals and spineless Republicans.’ Bomberger listed several crude jokes that liberal celebrities have made about rape, and asks, ‘Where was the condemnation of Whoopi Goldberg who, on The View, defended film director Roman Polanski’s 1977 drugging and rape of a 13 year old as not ‘rape rape’?’

It is troubling to see Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, the chairman of the RNC, Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) and conservative stalwarts like Rush Limbaugh demand the resignation of Akin (I do not think Rush did. At least he did not while I was listening to him!—my addition). Limbaugh himself has been accused of comments that have made him vulnerable to intense criticism. It is reported that high-level GOP officials have told Akin they will no longer help him with fundraising. Many in the GOP have developed a herd mentality and are piling on Akin, asserting that no one can win without establishment support. Sadly, they are shooting their wounded to react so quickly and demand that Akin jump out of the race (And if he loses, it may well be because of their NONSUPPORT!—my addition).

Fortunately, not all conservatives have deserted Akin. Because of the injustice of what has happened to him, Mike Huckabee has come to his defense, assisting with fundraising (Also the Family Research Council that I quote on numerous occasions!—my addition). It’s notable that Akin exceeded his goal of raising $125,000 within a few days. Susan B. Anthony List, a pro-life group, has put out a statement defending Akin.

Prior to Akin’s misworded comment, he was leading in the polls over the Democrat incumbent, Senator Claire McCaskill, who is considered to be the most vulnerable Democrat in the Senate. If his chances are now so dismal, why is Moveon.org calling for Akin to resign? Or why is the liberal super PAC American Bridge 21st Century demanding that Romney drop Huckabee from the GOP convention for supporting Akin? The left is well aware that to put in a substitute candidate now would risk losing the seat, due to the lack of time left to set up a ground game and garner name recognition.

Akin is a solid conservative who voted against No Child Left Behind, despite being pressured in a phone call by President Bush. He has a 97% lifetime rating from the American Conservative Union. A favorite of social conservatives, he obtained a Master of Divinity degree from seminary and has co-chaired the House Prayer Breakfast. No doubt his background is why many are targeting him so viciously.

Most voters will forget about this in a week (True! Or hold it against the Democrats for continually beating a dead horse. Hopefully too, it will wake up the PRO-LIFE movement and they will come to his aid in a major way!—my addition). Three days after the story broke, McCaskill pulled ahead of Akin in the polls but could not break 50%, according to a Rasmussen poll. Akin can still win, unless Republicans continue to turn on him (TRUE!—my addition). ‘A house divided against itself cannot stand (Said by no other than JESUS and then quoted by Republican Abraham Lincoln in relation to the Civil War! One would think that Republicans would know better!—my addition).’ The Republican Party could still try to force Akin out up until September 25, by challenging his candidacy in the courts.

When people can’t freely express their opinions it is a serious matter. Why isn’t an apology sufficient? Why make this into a career-ruining incident? Akin didn’t say ‘rape is ok,’ (Of course not!—my addition) and everyone knows exactly what he meant (Or at least they should!—my addition). Akin told Huckabee that he ‘misspoke one word, in one sentence, in one day.’ Wait until it happens to you. (Exactly! And watch the WOLFS come out!—my addition)

From: http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/Akin-rape-threats-investigation/2012/08/24/id/449730?s=al&promo_code=FDA5-1

“Akin said today that there have been threats against him since his remarks. ‘There have been threats, both on life and on rape,’ the lawmaker said, adding that House rules barred him from disclosing more.

Capitol Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating ‘at least one threat they deem significant,’ Steve Taylor, a member of Akin’s congressional staff in Missouri, said in a telephone interview yesterday. Capitol Police and Lauren Ellis, Akin’s chief of staff, also confirmed the investigation.

Taylor declined to specify the exact nature of the threat. Calls to the congressman’s office urged the ‘rape of Congressman Akin’s official staff, the congressman and members of his family, and there’s also been some suggestions that some people die,’ Taylor said.

Capitol Police are working with the FBI ‘on a reported threat against Congressman Akin,’ Lieutenant Kimberly Schneider said in an e-mailed statement. ‘This is an active, open investigation. Of course, we don’t discuss the security of members of Congress—this includes our security operations and procedures.’”

So, who are the real “crazies” for reacting in such a why to a statement that has been blown way out of proportion to what he actually said and meant to say! Another example of the “peace loving,” “tolerant” Left!!!

“Dear Friends,

Just yesterday Mike Huckabee released this statement:

‘I’ve always believed and still do, that if you don’t honor your friendships, you don’t honor yourself. And I consider Todd a friend. So I will join Todd as often as I can, in his fight for our Party’s pro-life policies, traditional marriage and our efforts to rein in the massive expansion of government under President Obama.’ ~Mike Huckabee

This was a very heartwarming appeal, but I was even more touched when in the face of the GOP establishment’s attack on me, you honored our friendship.

Your recent support gave me the courage I needed to fight on, thank you for standing with me, and supporting my campaign to defeat Claire McCaskill.

We’ve set a goal to raise $212,000 by midnight tonight and I need your support now more than ever!

We need to stop Claire McCaskill and Barack Obama and replace them with true Conservatives. The future of our country depends on our actions right now.

I want you to know that I’m deeply thankful for your standing with me as we move to take back America. And if you are able, I would ask you to consider chip-in $3 or whatever you can afford now. The party bosses and Washington insiders are threatening to pull their financial support for our campaign, which means we need your help more than ever. Every dollar helps, so whether you can give $3 or $300, I would ask you to consider doing so now. With your help, we can defeat Claire McCaskill and get our state and country back on the right track.

Please pray, encourage your friends to pray and send support as you and they are able.

Most Sincerely,

W. Todd Akin”

“Despite Apology, Left Continues Its Belly Akin

In Tampa, the GOP is wishing two things would blow over: Hurricane Isaac and Rep. Todd Akin’s comments. Forty-eight hours after making the most regrettable comment of his political career, the Missouri Congressman is still apologizing. Since Monday, when he tried to distinguish between rape and ‘legitimate rape,’ this six-term conservative has been the universal target of angry hysteria and public condemnation. And that’s just on the Republican side! Senate leaders, congressional leaders, and both presidential candidates have attacked Todd with the kind of ferocity that is usually reserved for the Anthony Weiners of the world.

Was his statement offensive? Absolutely. Was it inappropriate? Without a doubt. But if we abandoned every politician who made a ridiculous comment in their careers, there’d be no one left in Washington! Todd Akin has a long and distinguished record of defending women, children, and families—and unlike the GOP establishment

http://www.cnn.com/2012/08/21/politics/akin-controversy/index.html,

I refuse to throw him under the bus over one inarticulate comment for which he has apologized. If Congressmen Akin stays in the race, it will be up to voters to decide if his candidacy is a viable one. Until then, FRC Action is not going to walk away from a man whom we support based on a lifetime of service—not one indefensible moment.

Let’s not forget: While Todd’s comment may be in question, his character is not. For 12 years, he has consistently fought for legislation that honors marriage, human life, religious freedom, and national security. He also has a long record of opposing the commodification of women—in stark contrast to his opponent and liberal detractors, who promote groups like Planned Parenthood while ignoring how abortion harms them! And while we’re on the subject of protecting women, Americans should know that it is Todd’s loudest critics who send billions of taxpayer dollars to an organization, Planned Parenthood, that tolerates statutory rape

http://liveaction.org/monalisa.

As for the GOP, it has no rational basis for deserting Akin when it has stood by moderate Republicans who’ve done worse. Singling out Todd suggests a double standard, designed to drive out social conservatives.

Meanwhile, President Obama certainly didn’t waste any time pouncing on the chance to saddle the Republican Party with more ‘war on women’ rhetoric. Within hours, the Obama campaign had already pushed ‘send’ on a fundraising email trying to yoke the GOP platform to Akin’s misstatement. ‘Obama’s team is trying to make the [pro-life plank] scandalous by pointing out that it doesn’t have an explicit exception for victims of rape. But the fact is, there’s never been language about rape either way ...’ Ken Klukowski writes on Breitbart.

This is nothing but a manufactured controversy, aimed to misconstrue more than 32 years of stated GOP policy. ‘Obama’s allies say this silence is somehow an explicit refusal to allow exceptions for rape—[even] dubbing this pro-life plank the Akin Amendment’—despite the fact that Congressman Akin had nothing to do with the platform. The fact that the Left has turned the pro-life plank (which dates back to Ronald Reagan) into an Akin controversy is just another example of slanted media coverage. (I await the same coverage on the ‘McCaskill language’ of the Democratic platform which calls for taxpayer funding of abortion on demand!) The GOP is a party that respects all human life. Now is the time to stand by the leaders who fight for it (AMEN!!! TOO bad the Republican establishment doesnt understand this. However, when Todd Akin WINS the U.S. Senate race in Missouri, he WILL NOT BE beholding to the Republican establishment either. And that could be a blessing down the road!—my addition).

“As Someone Born After Rape, I Say Todd Akin Shouldn’t Step Aside

by Ryan Bomberger
Washington, DC
LifeNews.com

‘Tis the season to be wearing tread marks. Congressman Todd Akins has crawled out from under the bus, brushed himself off and is standing firm.

A few ill-chosen words expressing a more-common-than-acknowledged misunderstanding of a woman’s biological response to rape have caused him and those harmed by such a violent act, without pause, to be thrown under the bus.

And, quite frankly, I’m glad such a pro-family, pro-life stalwart, despite a few bumps and lots of scrapes, is not quitting under pressure from hypocritical pro-abortion radicals and spineless Republicans (My use of red—my addition).

Feigned outrage has a familiar sound: indignation, rhetorical distancing and repudiation. It’s come from nearly every corner. But where was this righteous indignation when Joe Biden lied in Flint, Michigan, using rape as a fear appeal

http://factcheck.org/2011/10/bidens-flint-fiasco-continued/,

claiming it would increase if the American Jobs Act were not passed?

What about Letterman joking about a NYC visit by Palin and her 14 year old daughter ending in the statutory rape of Willow by MLB celebrity Alex Rodriguez? Where was the condemnation of Whoopi Goldberg who, on The View, defended film director Roman Polanski’s 1977 drugging and rape of a 13 year old as not ‘rape rape’

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NX_D0Bv9M0?

ESPN’s ‘Gridlock’ radio show hosts went unscathed as they laughed along with convicted rapist Mike Tyson’s racist, violent and misogynistic ‘Wombshifter’  interview

http://dailycaller.com/2011/09/16/mike-tyson-sarah-palin-met-the-wombshifter/

where he joked about Palin being hypothetically raped by Dennis Rodman (and other black men), ‘pushing her guts up in the back of her head.’

Or perhaps, it’s just funny when liberal comedians joke about rape: Rainn Wilson (Dwight from NBC’s ‘The Office’), Sarah Silverman (who also recently joked about getting a ‘quickie aborsh’, a real knee-slapper), or most recently Daniel Tosh. Last month, Tosh began telling rape jokes to a not-so-thrilled crowd.

He responded to a female heckler telling her how funny it would be if ‘she were raped by 5 guys right now.’ There’s just something so hilarious about rape that these celebrities invoked no outrage from the ‘War on Women’ crowd.

Or perhaps, Politico, the online news source that (laughingly) claims to bring balance to political news didn’t infuriate the same anti-Akin mob by inexplicably posting Playboy’s ‘Top 10 Conservative Women We Hate to Love’.” “They didn’t fire former CNN/Washington Post/Politico Columnist Anne Schroeder Mullins for using Politico in a repugnant attack against conservative women with the porn giant’s rape fantasy. She left a year later to start a PR firm. There’s just so much irony in this left-leaning news outlet’s present article entitled, ‘Akin’s Comments ‘Positively Medieval’?’.

As one born as a result of rape, I feel those who demanded that Congressman Akin step down allow the pro-abortion narrative to remain … that those born of rape aren’t deserving of life and that it’s somehow compassionate to push a woman, so horribly violated, toward abortion.

Despite the media’s predictable liberal advocacy of abortion (in all cases), what’s missing is the intriguing real outcome of the horrific act of rape and pregnancy that may result. Why do 50% of women who’ve been so violated choose to carry to term? Why do nearly 6% place their child (yes, not the ‘rapists’ child’) for adoption? Why do many choose to parent?

This is something worth better understanding from those who’ve experienced this trauma. As always, mainstream media treats people groups as monolithic without ever bothering to discover what people actually believe or do. They instinctively and gleefully paint pro-life support of children born of rape as ‘extreme’ thereby attempting to silence any discussion.

In our fast food, instantaneous, microwaved-solution prone society, it’s a promoted ‘given’ that abortion is the only response to rape. But statistics and real life show that it isn’t, and many victims’ testimonies explain why it’s not. Abortion is like a second rape. The woman is violated, part of her dies (emotionally, physically, spiritually), human life is unjustly harmed, and she’s abandoned by the one inflicting the pain.

I’m not here to demand ‘no exceptions’ laws. Legislation, as vitally needed to protect all human life, doesn’t speak to the heart. I hope my personal story simply shows that there is redemption beyond the pain, anger and confusion of the immediate moment. After years of speaking to hundreds of thousands across the country, I’ve heard many heart-wrenching personal stories of rape from actual victims. Some chose abortion, some expressed tearful regret, others chose adoption and some chose to parent. I was surprised, myself, that many felt that their child brought them healing.

This Akin controversy is less about some poorly chosen words in an expression for support for both mother and child and more about the inexcusable, yet exalted, pro-abortion position that ‘abortion rights’ cannot be threatened. So, while liberals continually use the less than 1% (rape and incest) to justify the other 99%, some are too eager to allow the left to define while the GOP (in this case, the Grand Ole Placaters) reveals it often has no spine (Unfortunately, TRUE!!!—my addition).”

Todd Akin made a mistake. He has apologized for it and has decided to continue on with his Senatorial race from Missouri. Good for him! I was praying that he would NOT capitulate to the bullies within both the Democratic Party and, unfortunately, the Republican Party, including the Republican Party’s Presidential nominee.

Todd Akin is a social conservative strongly supporting both the PRO-LIFE position and traditional marriage against homosexual agitators. He was elected in a three way primary to represent the Republican Party as its Senatorial candidate. I have been saying since I began writing a political blog in 2005 that the three major issues are 1) stopping the MURDER of unborn babies, 2) stopping the homosexual agenda, and 3) restoring the U.S. Constitution as written. Todd Akin is being attacked for his PRO-LIFE advocacy!

From: http://www.akin.org/issues/life-0

“Our founders understood that life is a fundamental right granted to us by our Creator and that the government’s role is to protect this right. A government that doesn’t protect innocent life fails at one of its most basic roles. I believe that life begins at conception and I’m appalled that we do not protect the innocent lives of our unborn children.

As a former Board Member of Missouri Right to Life, I have remained steadfast in fighting for life. I actively worked to pass numerous pro-life legislative initiatives at both the state and federal level. Because of these actions, Planned Parenthood has listed me in their ‘Toxic Ten’ worst legislators

http://www.womenarewatching.org/article/introducing-the-toxic-ten-the-10-worst-members-who-fought-against-planned-parenthood

in the US for daring to stand up for the unborn.

I have repeatedly fought against our tax dollars going to fund abortions. Just in the past two years, I cosponsored the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act (H.R. 3)

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/112/hr3

and the Protect Life Act (H.R. 358)

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/112/hr358

both of which passed the House.

Recently, I discovered a potential loop-hole where abortions might be funded with our tax dollars through multi-state health exchanges. To prevent the indirect funding of abortions, I introduced H.R. 4971 the Stop Abortion Funding in Multi-state Exchange Plans (SAFE) Act.

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/112/hr4971

My amendment was added to the FY2013 House Financial Services Appropriations bill.

I also stand against embryonic stem cell research. It is wrong to build science upon the lives of our unborn children. Furthermore, there are other viable options which do not promote abortion: adult stem cells and cord blood stem cells are two of these.

Protecting life is fundamental to freedom.”

The intimidators within the Democratic Party with their mass media cronies have identified three areas of “concern.” Two have been extensively promulgated but the third is actually the most important to Democratic protagonists. The three are 1) his use of the phrase “legitimate rape,” 2) his contention that women have a mechanism within their body that allows the body to “shut down” to prevent pregnancy when raped, and 3) to be stated at the conclusion of the three. Let’s briefly examine each of the three.

1) “Legitimate rape”

Words have meaning. The Democrats are well aware of that. They want to define the meaning. Thus, they never speak of the MURDER of unborn babies. In fact, you won’t hear the word baby let alone MURDER! Seldom will they speak of abortion. Instead, it is generally something like “pro-choice”—never admitting that one of the two choices is MURDERING the unborn baby. Or, women’s health as if having a baby is comparable to having a horrendous disease of some sort. The unborn baby is NOT referred to as a baby—that would grant that the baby has life. Rather, he or she is a glob of protoplasm (You would not believe how many times I have heard that phrase from people who support the MURDER of unborn children.) or a fetus—which doesn’t sound like a baby but is, indeed, one of the phases every human being goes through from conception to being elderly, if death or MURDER does not occur somewhere along the line.

However, words do have meaning. Words often have more than one meaning. So, what did Todd Akin mean by “legitimate rape?” Obviously, I can’t speak for him and, just as obviously, neither can all the Democrat and Republican naysayers. I did hear him on Sean Hannity and heard his explanation. I also have a dictionary and actually used it to look up the word “legitimate.” I suggest Democrats, Republicans, and the mass media do the same. I doubt that they will since it actually requires exercising your brain and using common sense instead of instant reaction against spoken words. One reason I prefer writing instead of speaking is that I don’t know of anyone who speaks publicly who hasn’t said things that they regret later.

From: Merriam Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary 10th edition. © 1995, page 665:

Legitimate: “2] being exactly as purposed: neither spurious nor false”

Therefore, according to Webster’s, what is a “legitimate rape?” It is a rape that actually occurred. Not an action that was identified by someone as a rape but was actually not a rape. Is that possible? Of course it is! And for William Jefferson Clinton’s sake it had better be. This is why I posted yesterday’s post about him. Bill Clinton has been accused of rape. Bill Clinton has not been convicted of rape. Was the accused action of rape by Bill Clinton a “legitimate rape” or was it not? Is a rapist the scheduled keynote speaker of the 2012 Democratic National Convention? He is if it was a “legitimate rape!”

Words have meaning and I believe that Todd Akin used the word “legitimate” correctly to convey the meaning that he intended! It is the opposition who is misusing the definition of the word used in his context!

Which leads to the second concern:

2) “Women have a mechanism within their body that allows the body to “shut down” to prevent pregnancy when raped.”

I must confess that I have never heard of this concept before. However, I have never heard of a lot of concepts as is the case with all of us! We are not all knowing! Only GOD is! I was given a copy of a book a few years ago which discussed the marvels of the human body which was written to demonstrate that man could not have just happened—evolved from slim to man as proclaimed by Darwin and evolutionists. (I believe, of course, that man was created by GOD as told in the Bible in the book of Genesis. And NO evolutionist can PROVE otherwise!)

One article told of a tribe (Location? I don’t remember.) whose mothers nursed their children for three, four, or more years. During that time, they did not get pregnant. According to the author, GOD had created a mechanism within the body of women that prevented pregnancy as long as the mother is nursing. True or not? I don’t know. However, since I am certain that GOD created man, it seems reasonable that GOD could have instilled such a mechanism within women. Surprise, surprise. To all those Femi-Nazis out there, there are differences between men and women. Differences created by GOD.

According to the Glenn Beck radio show, there was at least one research study in the 1970’s that concluded that in extreme times of stress (such as a “legitimate rape”) the human body sometimes shuts-down and would in the case of rape “prevent” conception from occurring. In my reading material on this issue on the internet, I also read a comment from an individual who claimed he was taught the same in the 1980’s. Supposedly, this study (studies) was later disproved. However, since I don’t know the background, ethics, or ideology of the “scientists” who disproved it (think man made global warming LIARS), I can’t say if the concept is true or not. Furthermore, it DOES NOT MATTER! If, at the time, Todd Akin believed it to be true—and he said he had been told that it was by medical professionals—then his entire statement is reasonable, even if not factually true.

His statement based upon the research as he was told and understood it: “Because of the extreme stress involved, the body of a woman shuts-down preventing conception from occurring when a ‘legitimate—not false, not made up, not consensual—rape’ occurs”

3) This is the real reason for the extreme reaction of the Democratic Left. The first two are the talking points for those people who refuse to use reason to reach a decision. Todd Akins refuses to “admit” that the MURDER of unborn babies because of rape is acceptable! This is their typical tactic of getting a foot in the door. “Isn’t it alright to MURDER an unborn baby (Of course, they never use the word MURDER) if a rape has occurred?” NO! “Isn’t it alright to MURDER an unborn baby (Of course, they never use the word MURDER) if incest has occurred?” NO! “Isn’t it alright to MURDER an unborn baby (Of course, they never use the word MURDER) if the life of the woman is endangered?” NO! (And this third “argument” is a “straw man” argument.) And if they can get a yes answer on any of the three, they then jump to the conclusion that the MURDER of unborn babies IS acceptable! Todd Akin did not accept MURDER because of rape. And rightfully so! MURDER is MURDER!!!!!

The reaction of the Democrats is predictable. The reaction of some Republicans was reprehensible! The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) tried to bully Todd Akin to withdraw by withdrawing campaign money pledged. In doing so of course, the Committee demonstrated its lack of integrity. Isn’t a pledge a promise? Was the pledge qualified with the comment that, if you say something that is disagreeable, the pledge will not be honored? Is the NRSC reacting like a spoiled child? Do as I say or I will withhold my “love?” I “love” you when you are good; I reject you if I think you are bad! Other Republicans followed suit withdrawing support and money and demanding that Akin withdraw, as if they have some say in the matter.

By the way, yesterday I also received a request from the NRSC to donate money to them to support Republican Senatorial candidates. The following was my reply:

“Are you serious? You send an e-mail request to me to donate money hours after you throw social conservative, Republican Senatorial candidate Todd Akin under the proverbial bus! I told you four years ago I was not going to donate while you support RINO’S for the Senate. Two years ago, you abandoned Joe Miller until it was too late and a RINO who lost in the primary won because of Democratic support. And that RINO supports the MURDER of unborn babies!

I write three political blogs.

http://christiangunslinger3.blogspot.com and

http://christiangunslinger5.blogspot.com

The last two posts at http://christiangunslinger.blogspot.com

dealt with the Todd Akin controversy. Tomorrow, I will continue by throwing my support to him, encouraging PRO-LIFE people to donate to him, and condemning your organization and other Republicans, including Mitt Romney, who are trying to destroy his candidacy. It seems to me, you want a Democratic Senator who advocates the MURDER of unborn babies to win that election! NO MONEY FROM ME! NOT NOW! PERHAPS, NOT EVER!”

There is plenty of time to right the ship. This is NOT an instance of falling on a sword. First of all, which is preferable—a candidate who supports LIFE as Todd Akin does or a candidate—the Democrat—who is a consistent supporter of Barack Hussein Obama and a consistent supporter of the MURDER of unborn babies? I believe, after the dust has settled, that the voters of Missouri are smart enough to support the candidate who is PRO-LIFE over the candidate who is PRO-MURDER. That, in fact, would be my major emphasis in the campaign. Being PRO-LIFE IS a game changer! It is a winning proposition!!!

When Chick-fil-A was attacked, what happened? Values people came to its defense. The same should happen for Todd Akin. If every PRO-LIFE person in America donated $20—the price of meals for a family of 4—to the Akin campaign, he would have more than enough money to run a campaign without ANY Republican Party help! If every PRO-LIFE voter in Missouri donated time and effort to the campaign, he would have more than enough to wage a winning campaign. It’s up to PRO-LIFE people! What are you going to do to help a PRO-LIFE candidate get elected in a PRO-LIFE State against a PRO-MURDER Senator?

I said I was going to write about the Todd Akin controversy today and that was my intention. However, the library is changing internet providers and access to the internet was down today as the necessary adjustments were made. Therefore, I couldn’t do internet work earlier today. I am posting a related story and will, the LORD willing, post the Todd Akin remarks tomorrow.

Yesterday, Rush Limbaugh, in his comments concerning Todd Akin said that it was a double standard long exhibited by the Democrats that they got so worked up about Todd Akin’s remarks about rape and yet the keynote speaker at the Democratic Convention is no other than accused rapist William Jefferson Clinton—former Democratic President of the United States. Thus, I’m posting the following article today:

From:  http://www.wnd.com/2012/08/bill-clinton-has-the-real-rape-problem/

“BILL CLINTON HAS THE REAL ‘RAPE’ PROBLEM

Exclusive: Jack Cashill contrasts misspeaking about sexual assault with committing it

As far as I know, Bill Clinton, unlike U.S. Senate candidate Todd Akin, has never misspoken on the subject of rape. In fact, he is somewhat of an authority on the subject.

Clinton knows just what a woman who has been raped should do. As he told Juanita Broaddrick in that Little Rock hotel room some years back, ‘You better get some ice on that.’

Broaddrick was not alone in being sexually abused by Clinton. Indeed, in the Ken Starr investigation, Broaddrick emerged as ‘Jane Doe No. 5.’

Broaddrick was likely not unique in being raped by Clinton either. In his book, ‘Uncovering Clinton: A Reporter’s Story,’ Michael Isikoff relates how Clinton, then Arkansas governor, had sex with former Miss America Elizabeth Ward Gracen.

‘It was rough sex, Isikoff writes, ‘Clinton got so carried away that he bit her lip, Gracen later told friends. But it was consensual.’

Isikoff missed the lip-biting connection. He also failed to acknowledge that at least one of Gracen’s friends, Judy Stokes, had told the Paula Jones legal team that the sex was not consensual at all.

‘Do you believe Clinton raped her?’ investigator Rick Lambert asked her. ‘Absolutely,’ Stokes replied. ‘He forced her to have sex. What do you call that?’

I cite the Gracen story because it helps substantiate the story Broaddrick told Lisa Myers on NBC’s ‘Dateline’ in 1999.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1961109/posts

Broaddrick: ‘And he came around me and sort of put his arm over my shoulder to point to this little building and he said he was real interested if he became governor to restore that little building and then all of a sudden, he turned me around and started kissing me. And that was a real shock.’

Myers: ‘What did you do?’

Broaddrick: ‘I first pushed him away and just told him ‘No, please don’t do that,’ and I forget, it’s been 21 years, Lisa, and I forget exactly what he was saying. It seems like he was making statements that would relate to ‘Did you not know why I was coming up here?’ and I told him at the time, I said, ‘I’m married, and I have other things going on in my life, and this is something that I’m not interested in.’’

Myers: ‘Had you, that morning, or any other time, given him any reason to believe you might be receptive?’

Broaddrick: ‘No. None. None whatsoever.’

Myers: ‘Then what happens?’

Broaddrick: ‘Then he tries to kiss me again. And the second time he tries to kiss me he starts biting my lip (she cries). Just a minute … He starts to, um, bite on my top lip and I tried to pull away from him. (crying) And then he forces me down on the bed. And I just was very frightened, and I tried to get away from him and I told him ‘No,’ that I didn’t want this to happen (crying) but he wouldn’t listen to me.’

Myers: ‘Did you resist, did you tell him to stop?’

Broaddrick: Yes, I told him ‘Please don’t.’ He was such a different person at that moment, he was just a vicious awful person.’

Myers: ‘You said there was a point at which you stopped resisting?’

Broaddrick: ‘Yeah.’

Myers: ‘Why?’

Broaddrick: ‘It was a real panicky, panicky situation. I was even to the point where I was getting very noisy, you know, yelling to ‘Please stop.’ And that’s when he pressed down on my right shoulder and he would bite my lip.’

Hillary Clinton has a rape problem, too. From the beginning of Bill’s career, she has been busy suppressing ‘bimbo eruptions,’ which is a deceptive way of saying she has been silencing women like Broaddrick and Gracen.

The media have been enabling both of them. Allow me to share a nugget from Bill and Hillary’s memorably dishonest ‘60 Minutes’ appearance in late January 1992, the one that would save his candidacy and help launch the perversely labeled ‘Republican War on Women.’

Steve Kroft: [Gennifer Flowers] is alleging and has described in some detail in the supermarket tabloid what she calls a 12-year affair with you.

Bill Clinton: That allegation is false.

Hillary Clinton: … Bill talked to this woman every time she called, distraught, saying her life was going to be ruined, and he’d get off the phone and tell me that she said sort of wacky things, which we thought were attributable to the fact that she was terrified.

Bill Clinton: It was only when money came out, when the tabloid went down there offering people money to say that they had been involved with me, that she changed her story. There’s a recession on.

A master politician, even in this moment of deepest political peril, candidate Clinton remembered to remind the American people ‘there is a recession on.’ For the record, Clinton would admit the affair with Flowers under oath but lie about the details. Perjury, rape, no big deal!

While Todd Akin is stewing in the woodshed, Bill Clinton is preparing to speak at the Democratic National Convention, and the women most offended by Akin’s dumb remarks will be queuing up to cheer Clinton on. Yes, it is a mental disorder.

Get the book so hot it was stolen from its author—Kathleen Willey’s ‘Target: Caught in the Crosshairs of Bill and Hillary Clinton’”

And let’s not forget that other “champion” for women—the late Senator Ted Kennedy—who abandoned a drowning woman in a submerged car as he swam to safety! But please, don’t bring up history. That was then and now is now. And we all know how all Republicans hate women—even though they tend to marry women—and even though there are actually conservative Republican women!!!
