I received the following this morning (Saturday March 28, 2009) and am posting it tonight without checking it out because of the time frame involved. Whoever is leading this wants it done on March 31st which doesn’t give a lot of time. Even if a hoax, it is worth doing, in my opinion. The address for President Barack Hussein Obama looks correct although I didn’t take the time to check that either.

“I am passing this along, because I thought perhaps you would like to participate in Red Envelope Day, on March 31, 2009.

Get a red envelope. You can buy them at FedEx Kinko’s, or at party supply stores. On the front, address it to:

President Barack Obama
The White House1600 Pennsylvania Ave NWWashington, D.C. 20500

On the back, write the following message:

‘This envelope represents one child who died because of an abortion. It is empty because the life that was taken is now unable to be part of our world.’

Don’t forget to put your return address so it will show that it comes from different people and not a mass bunch of envelopes from one person.’
We will mail the envelopes out March 31st, 2009.

Forward this event to every one of your friends who you think would send one too. I wish we could send 50 million red envelopes, one for every child who died [in the U.S.] before having a chance to live.

It may seem that those who believe abortion is wrong are in a minority. It may seem like we have no voice and it’s shameful to even bring it up. Let us show our President and the world that the voices of those of us who do not believe abortion is acceptable are not silent and must be heard.

Barack Obama spoke at a Planned Parenthood Action Fund event, uttering the now infamous line, ‘Well, the first thing I'd do as president is, is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. [Applause.] That’s the first thing that I’d do.’

An empty red envelope will send a message to President Barack Obama that there is moral outrage in this country over this issue [The Freedom of Choice Act, which will essentially ‘undo’ every law currently in place to limit abortion in the U.S... (i.e., parental consent laws, parental notification, waiting periods, prohibition of transporting a minor girl across state lines to obtain an abortion, etc.)]. It is a quiet, but clear message of protest. (Also include partial birth abortion in this list—my addition)

I’m getting my red envelopes ready. How about you?

If you are not familiar, you can read more about The Freedom of Choice Act here:

The U.S. Supreme Court through an illegal edict of a majority of Justices condemned millions of unborn American children to be MURDERED. This holocaust MUST end or the U.S.A. will stand condemned just as millions of unborn babies have already been condemned. The fate of our nation is at risk! Save the nation; save the lives of innocent unborn children!

“The rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk. Nor did they repent of their MURDERS (my capitalization), their magic arts, their SEXUAL IMMORALITY (my capitalization) or their thefts.” Revelation 9: 20-21 (NIV)

I received the following last week but only read it yesterday. I thought it important enough to take the time to post it tonight. I have not checked out the links. Although the article which I’m posting without comment deals with Illinois, the same push is occurring at the federal level. The libertines are trying to reverse the gains achieved under the Bush Administration and, if passed, Barack Hussein Obama has given every indication that he will sign it. SEE what we have wrought!

“‘FOCA,’ Abortion, and the IL GOP’s ‘no litmus test’ approach to life
Posted: March 12, 2009
By John Biver

Illinois state GOP chairman Andy McKenna said he didn’t think Republicans should have a litmus test for its candidates for 2010. So much for the party’s platform, its base, and the entire point of having a political party.

Everyone who thinks we need a new state party chairman raise your hand.

We’ve come to expect this kind of thing from McKenna. What more rank-and-file Illinois Republican voters are realizing is that those who stand behind McKenna—the party’s State Central Committee—and all too many General Assembly members—think the same way as McKenna.

Everyone who believes we need new Republican leadership on our State Central Committee and in the General Assembly raise your hand.

If those other ‘leaders’ disagree with McKenna and think Republican candidates should be judged on their support/lack of support for GOP platform planks, then they need to quit hiding in the tall grass and speak up. Until they do, we’re going to assume they share Andy’s anti-principle world view.

Party leadership matters on all issues. Not just legislative leadership—political party leadership. Right now in Illinois we have what in essence is a one-party state because of the failure of our Republican leaders. This can change—but we need your help. If party politics doesn’t move you to pick up the phone, let’s talk about one of those issues that McKenna and his allies say should be ignored.

Dave Smith at the Illinois Family Institute put out an important alert yesterday—here are excerpts: IFI Alert: State FOCA Bill Moves to House Floor—Contact Your State Rep. Today!

Pro-Life and Pro-Family citizens must contact their State Representatives in opposition to HB 2354.

Planned Parenthood is working overtime trying to pass pro-abortion legislation—the ‘Freedom of Choice Act’ (FOCA)—at the state and federal level. The title of the FOCA bill here in Illinois is the ‘Reproductive Health and Access Act,’ and the bill number is HB 2354...

HB 2354 represents a RADICAL & UNPRECEDENTED departure from current Illinois law regarding abortion, public funding of abortion, health care right of conscience, and comprehensive sex education.

HB 2354 will prohibit Illinois government and courts from enforcing our Parental Notification Law—which is currently held up in federal court. HB 2354 quashes any right of conscience for moral reasons related to abortion or contraceptives; and mandates the teaching of age-inappropriate comprehensive sex education to all school children.

In short, if this bill is signed into law, Illinois would become a bloody abortion free-for-all. Please click here and follow through on the steps required to take action. And while you have your senator or rep on the phone, please tell them to support SB 600—the bill that will finally open up the Republican Party to new leadership. Click here to learn more about SB 600.

Of course, if you’re still not moved—or if all of this is still kind of vague to you—click the following to watch a video titled—‘Everyone Against Abortion, Raise Your Hand.’

The fact is, through their actions, your Illinois Republican Party Chairman and most members of your Republican State Central Committee will not be raising their hands because they don’t think there should be any ‘litmus test.’

Again, click here to learn more about SB600 and the importance of Direct Elections.

John Biver is the Editor of Champion News.”

I don’t have time to write and post a blog tonight. However, I wanted to write this while it was fresh in my mind. Consequently, I’m taking the time.

I try to run/jog six days a week—I don’t always accomplish that goal particularly in the cold of winter in Illinois. (It was a lot easier while living in Tucson.) Because of bad knees (I would advise against running on concrete sidewalks for years as I used to do.) and the measured distance, I try to run/jog at our local high school’s track which is within walking distance from where I am living. Since track practice has begun, I have been running between 4:30 pm when practice has normally ended and 5:30 when the local news I watch begins. (I have analog still and only one local news still broadcasts in analog.)

For some reason on Tuesday afternoon, the track was still being used by dozens of people. Since I try not to interfere with school activities, I decided to walk to one of the grade schools and jog around the inside of the sidewalks that are on the west side of the building. This area has open ground with some play equipment along the edges—two small basketball courts on one corner, grade school play equipment at another corner, a small table with benches and a small amount of play equipment at a third corner. It only takes a couple of minutes to circle the area so I was using my stop watch to jog for a predetermined amount of time.

While I was jogging about seven boys trickled into the area with the small table and small amount of play equipment. It seems they had come to play some pickup football. It seems a couple of them walked, a few rode bikes to the area, and at least one had Mom drop him off with the family car—none seemed old enough to drive.

Some were at the table, some on the equipment. While they talked, the obscenities seemed to flow easily and naturally with the conversation. Obviously, they weren’t concerned with Jesus’ admonition about our speech. “‘But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.’” Matthew 12: 36-37 (NIV) (Yes, I know that they aren’t yet men. However, the habits learned in one’s youth often are carried over into one’s adult life. It seems rather evident that their parents, if they know about their language, have not been successful in changing it.)

One other thing that stood out. Of these seven or so boys who had come to the school to play a pickup game of football, it seems that none of them had thought to actually bring a football. Consequently, no football resulted in no pickup football game. Is this our hope for the future?

“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” Galatians 6: 7-8 (NIV)

I received an email Friday morning telling of a survey being conducted by MSNBC. The survey was whether or not “In God we trust” should remain on our currency. The poll still seems to be open at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10103521/

I used the link and voted Friday morning—the 13th. I also used the link on my blog to check the site Saturday morning. Upon further investigation, it seems the question was first posted in 2005. Tonight, I’m posting the vote tally as of March 13, 2009 when I first voted and March 14, 2009 when I checked the site a second time (note the increase in the number of responses from the 13th to the 14th and that the voters overwhelmingly support keeping “In God we trust” on the currency).

I received the following email Friday morning. Even though time is limited right now, I thought I should take the time to post it. The email:

“THIS IS REAL.

Subject: Will NBC be surprised?

Here’s your chance to let the media know where the people stand on our faith in God, as a nation. NBC is taking a poll on ‘In God We Trust’ to stay on our American currency. Please send this to every person you know so they can vote on this important subject. Please do it right away, before NBC takes this off the web page.

Poll is still open so you can vote. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10103521/

This is not sent for discussion, if you agree forward it, if you don’t, delete it.
By me forwarding it, you know how I feel. I’ll bet this was a surprise to NBC.”

I used the link and voted Friday morning—the 13th. The results so far are also given. One problem with the poll is that the question alludes to the misapplication of the 1st Amendment continuing the old nonsense that the 1st Amendment provides for the separate of church and State which it DOES NOT! Read the question carefully. A “yes” answer is to remove “In GOD we trust” from our currency.

The statement as given: “Yes. It’s a violation of the principle of separation of church and state.” Again, there is NO concept of the separation of church and State in our Constitution—just in the perverted minds of some Justices.

The following is a portion of my February 3, 2009 post:

“For January of 2008 according to the Peoria Journal Star, February 1, 2008, page B6 and February 2, 2008, page B8; the temperature average departure for the month (of January) was +2.9°. The month precipitation was 3.22” with the normal precipitation amount being 1.50”. Consequently, Peoria was 1.72 inches of rain above the normal amount. If the same averages continue for the remainder of the year, the average temperature will be 34.8° above normal and the average rainfall will be 20.64” higher than average. Do you think that will occur?

The year of 2008 is now completed. Was the average temperature departure for the year 34.8° above normal? Of course not. Was the average rainfall for the year 20.64” higher than normal? No. However, the average rainfall was above the norm and did approach the 20.64” that the month of January seemed to allude to.

By the end of December, the average temperature for Peoria, Illinois was NOT above normal. It was actually 0.2° below normal—NOT exactly an ‘Al Gore type’ of global warming that is being predicted. The average rainfall was 10.47 inches above normal—36.10 inches is normal for the year while Peoria actually had a total of 46.57 inches of rain. (Peoria Journal Star, January 1, 2009, page B6)

This January (2009) is basically the reverse of the January in 2008. According to the Peoria Journal Star February 1, 2009, page B6, the average temperature departure for the month of January was -4.0°. The temperature for the month was an average of 4° below normal. If the same averages continue for the remainder of the year, the average temperature will be 48° below normal. Do you believe that will happen? I sure pray not!

In contrast to 2008, the month to date rainfall for January in Peoria was .72” while the normal average rainfall is 1.5” for the month of January. Consequently, after one month the average rainfall is .78” below normal. If this trend continues for the rest of the year, Peoria will have less rainfall—9.36 inches less or if using percentages, which would be even more damaging, less than half of the rainfall for a normal year. Do you believe that will happen? I sure pray not! It would probably be a poor year for farming if it does.”

As is often the case, February 2009 reversed the trend of January 2009. According to the Peoria Journal Star on March 1, 2009 page B6, February was warmer than normal. In fact, February was 3.1° warmer than normal. The rainfall was higher than normal too—2.02” instead of the normal 1.67” for February. Even so, the temperature for the first two months is still below normal at -0.7° and the rainfall is also still below normal at 2.74” instead of the normal 3.17”—.43” below normal. However, both the temperatures and the rainfall are moving closer to the normal amounts.

Not really a surprise. However, two months does not a year make.

This is what the Bible says about our climate: “Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it. The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: ‘Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.

As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.’” Genesis 8: 20-22 (NIV)

As I’ve said before, no human can accurately predict what the weather is going to be like 50 years from today. We have difficulty predicting with 100% accuracy what the weather is going to be like seven days from now. This I do know. If GOD wants global warming as predicted by the “Al Gore gang” to occur, there is NOTHING man can do to stop it. If GOD doesn’t want global warming to occur, it won’t, no matter what man does. Of course, God could always let man proceed as they choose without HIS hand in it either way. I don’t know what will occur 50 years from now and NEITHER DOES any other human on this planet!

This I also know. If I were living a life of SIN, I’d be more concerned about what GOD will do today and tomorrow or what will happen to me after my death (none of us has a guarantee that we will live another fifty years) than what is going to occur in another 50 years!!!

“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” Galatians 6: 7-8 (NIV)

On July 6th, 2007, I posted for the first time on my blog the record high temperature for Peoria, Illinois for each day of the month of July with the year the record occurred. I began the post with this paragraph:

Anyone ever ask you, “Hot enough for you?” It seems like I hear that every summer. I was at a funeral recently. I can’t remember the age of the person but I think she was around 90 years of age. One of the individuals who talked about her life mentioned that she often talked about how hot it was in 1936. 1936? But global warming is a new phenomenon! How could it be hot in 1936?

I had a post for each month from July of 2007 through June of 2008. I stopped at June because I did not have the new figures for the second half of the year. I now have the figures for January through June. Therefore, I thought I would begin the process again.

First, here are the conclusions for January and February:

For January:

01) The record high temperatures for January ranged from 71° to a low of 56°.
02) There were two highs in the 70’s, three in the 50’s, and twenty-six in the 60’s.
03) The most record high temperatures for a decade occurred in the 1890’s and 1950’s with 5 each.
04) The decade of the 1880’s was the only decade with no record high dates.
05) The decade of the 1930’s had 2 record high temperature dates.
06) Four dates in the 2000’s had record high temperatures.
07) The highest record high temperature of 71° occurred on January 23, 1909.
08) The lowest record high temperature of 56° occurred on January 30, 1988.

For the month of January, the 2000’s lead the 1930’s with 4 record highs for the 2000’s and only 2 record highs for the 1930’s—a 2 to 1 advantage. It must be “Al Gore’s” global warming—or not!

For February:

01) The record high temperatures for February ranged from 74° to a low of 54°.
02) There were nine highs in the 70’s, two in the 50’s, and eighteen in the 60’s.
03) The most record high temperatures for a decade occurred in the 1930’s with 8.
04) The decades of the 1880’s, 1960’s, and 1980’s had no record high dates.
05) One date in the 2000’s had record high temperatures.
07) The highest record high temperature of 74° occurred on February 10, 1932.
08) The lowest record high temperature of 54° occurred on February 2, 1920.
09) The year of 1930 had five of six straight days with record high temperatures.

The 2000’s lead over the 1930’s of 2 to 1 has been reversed. The 1930’s from January through February now has 10 record high temperatures. The 2000’s now has five. The 1930’s now has a 2 to 1 advantage over the 2000’s. The reversal occurred in one month. It must be “Al Gore’s” global warming—or not!

Here are the March record high temperatures for Peoria.

The Peoria Journal Star on December 21, 2008, page S2 published “The Weather Month by Month.” According to the Peoria Journal Star, here are the record highs for Peoria for the month of March with the year of that record high.

March 29……. 86 ……. 1986
March 30……. 83 ……. 1986
March 31……. 84 ……. 1986”

For March:

01) The record high temperatures for March ranged from 87° to a low of 70°.
02) There were fourteen highs in the 80’s, and seventeen in the 70’s.
03) The most record high temperatures for a decade occurred in 4 different decades—the 1900’s, 1980’s, 1990’s, and 2000’s—with four in each decade.
04) The decade of the 1880’s had no record high dates.
05) One date in the 1930’s had record high temperatures.
06) The highest record high temperature of 87° occurred on March 21, 1907.
07) The lowest record high temperature of 70° occurred on March 5, 1945.

Now it is a horse race! In January, the 2000’s led the 1930’s by a 2 to 1 margin. The 1930’s from January through February had 10 record high temperatures. The 2000’s had five. The 1930’s has one more record high temperature in March giving the 1930’s a total of 11 for the first three months of the year. The 2000’s added four more record high temperatures to its previous total of five increasing its three month total to nine just two less than the eleven of the 1930’s. The race is on! It must be “Al Gore’s” global warming—or not!

As I’ve said before, no human can accurately predict what the weather is going to be like 50 years from today. We have difficulty predicting with 100% accuracy what the weather is going to be like seven days from now. This I do know.
