Red Envelope Days 2010


Get red envelopes. You can buy them at FedEx Kinko’s, at party supply stores, or Staples (just about any office supply store before Christmas—stock up). Address it to:

On a 3” X 5” card or sheet of paper, write the following message: “This envelope represents one child who was MURDERED because of Supreme Court edict. The preborn baby that was destroyed is now unable to be part of our world. LIFE begins at conception.” Please sign your name with this message. Mail the message. Don’t forget to put your return address so it will show that it comes from different people and not a mass mailing of envelopes from one person.
Why red? The envelopes represent the innocent blood shed through abortion and the blood JESUS shed for our sins. This campaign is a symbolic act to flood the mail with red. The more we send, the more powerful this symbol will be. Therefore, three times a year have been designated for mass mailings to the President—three because every preborn child has a body, soul, and spirit just as we do. The three times:

1) April 1: Why April 1st? It is recognized as April Fools Day. A Florida Court set April Fools Day as the atheist’s holy day. The judge said, “The calendar says April 1st is April Fools Day. Psalm 14: 1 states, ‘The fool says in his heart, there is no God.’ Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that if your client says there is no God, then he is a fool. Therefore, April 1st is his day. Court is adjourned.” This is a foot note on page 462 of my Bible: “The Hebrew words rendered fool in Psalms (also in Proverbs—footnote on page 536) denote one who is morally deficient.” (NIV) By definition, anyone who supports, condones, or MURDERS a preborn child must be morally deficient in GOD’S sight.

2) July 3: July 4th is the day we celebrate our independence—an independence that is based upon LIFE, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

3) November 18 (This year. The actual date should be one week before Thanksgiving.) Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful for the gifts GOD has given us and has given mankind. One of those most precious gifts is the gift to create new life. Yet, we have become so morally depraved that we would rather allow the MURDER of that new life than give thanks for such a blessing. We MUST return to the attitude that children are a blessing and not a curse!

Do this each and every year until this obscene, immoral practice of MURDERING our own preborn children is ended. Praise and honor to GOD the CREATOR of all things! PRAY! LOVE! OBEY! SERVE! The VICTORY is won through JESUS, the CHRIST!

Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. (Barack Hussein Obama’s hope which is certainly ILLUSIONAL!!!—my addition) We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren, till she transforms us into beasts. We have just begun to fight!


Late Sunday night the Democratic Party voted to substitute GOD, JESUS, and the HOLY SPIRIT as the SAVIOR of all mankind and tried to replace GOD the FATHER, GOD the SON, and GOD the HOLY SPIRIT with god the government. Ultimately, it will NOT succeed.

Democrat Bart Stupak sold his so-called pro-life position for what? A pledge by the most pro-MURDER President in our nation to issue an Executive Order to supersede the language of the bill which established the funding of the MURDER of unborn babies by the American people—by ALL of the American people who pay taxes to the federal government.

The problem, of course as judas Bart Stupak well knows, is that the Constitution does not allow an Executive Order to constitutionally change a provision of a law passed by Congress. “This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land ….” (Article VI, Section 1, Clause 2, The Constitution of the United States.) Does he really believe that his constituents are so stupid that they do not realize his sale out?

America’s robust discussion of health care reform during the past year has been beneficial in many ways, giving the public greater awareness and insight into this complex issue. Unfortunately, the debate has been held pretty much on one-party terms as Democrats, controlling both houses of Congress and the White House, crafted the only plan allowed on the table, and negotiated behind closed doors. Now, despite the deep reservations of a majority of Americans, congressional leaders plan to ram through their proposal this week—bypassing normal congressional procedures.

It is a distressing prospect. We hope that moderate House Democrats—among them Rep. Steve Driehaus of Cincinnati, who says he ‘will not bend on the principle of federal funding on abortion’ but will be stuck in the middle of an elaborate charade to include that funding anyway—will put a stop to this sham.

Real debate has been sidestepped, while Democrats played a childish game of Catch-22 with health care legislation: Congressional leaders wouldn’t allow Republican proposals to be formally considered, then turned around and accused them of not having alternatives. Among themselves, Democrats cut a series of backroom deals that in any other context would be considered criminal payoffs and bribery.

Here’s how blatant it’s become: Last week, President Obama nominated for a federal appeals court the brother of a wavering Democratic House member from Utah.

This disgusting process, which Democrats brazenly wish to bring to conclusion this week, is being done with little regard for the opinions of a clear majority of Americans who, while they may believe health care reform is necessary, think this particular approach will take our nation down the wrong economic path.

Obama, despite all his fine talk of bipartisanship, has proven he has little regard for the ideas—or the constituencies—of those who are not his political allies. The paltry few GOP proposals that he has indicated he is willing to consider—even here, there are no real commitments—are so token as to be laughable.

Meanwhile, an Associated Press poll last week showed that 68 percent of Americans don’t want health care reform passed without Republican support.

Supporters of the Democratic plan can spin it any way they wish, but polls have consistently shown that a majority of Americans oppose their heavy-handed approach to reform. Americans may favor general principles such as universal coverage, but they are distrustful of the way this bill has been crafted and how it will change their relationship with their health care providers.

According to the Quinnipiac Poll, Ohioans oppose the Democrats’ reform plan 56 percent to 33 percent, although they agree 53 percent to 44 percent that Congress should keep trying to reform health care.

The legislation has major problems that have not even begun to be discussed in a serious way, and if Democrats have their way will not be debated at all. The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, for example, calls the Senate bill ‘racially discriminatory’ because of provisions that ‘in addition to being unconstitutional, will not improve health care outcomes for minority patients.’

And despite denials, the bill has worrisome implications for Medicare. According to an Associated Press news account, much of the reform bill is ‘financed with Medicare cuts the government’s own experts say could be unsustainable.’

Democrats are devising an elaborate set of sleight-of-hand tricks to get this bill on Obama’s desk this week, including Senate ‘reconciliation’ to avoid a GOP filibuster.

Yes, both parties have employed reconciliation in the past—it has been used by Republicans in 14 of 22 instances since being adopted in 1974—but its purpose is supposed to be resolving budget issues, not making far-reaching policy decisions that will alter one-sixth of the U.S. economy.

Its blatant abuse is yet further damning evidence of congressional leaders’ arrogant, condescending attitude toward the people they ostensibly were elected to serve.”

I write the following on my October 24, 2008 blog, “Rule Chicago, rule Illinois, rule the nation. Ruin Chicago, ruin Illinois, ruin the nation.” Barack Hussein Obama’s only experience in politics was as a Chicago politician. He is running the Presidency just as the Chicago Democratic machine runs Chicago. Is it any wonder why we are experiencing what we are experiencing. We are getting exactly what the majority of those who voted voted for.

By the way, do you realize that the federal government is the largest “insurer” in the United States? When the President is attacking the insurance industry he is attacking his own operation of Medicare and Medicaid.

It is certainly unconstitutional (Article 1, Section 7, Clause Two, Procedure for Passing Bills and Resolutions)—“But in all such Cases the Votes of both Houses shall be determined by Yeas and Nays, and the Names of the Persons voting for and against the Bill shall be entered on the Journal of each House respectively.”

It is now being argued that the Republicans have used this process before and so the Democrats can now use it. That’s a nonsensical argument. Because the Democrats did not challenge the procedure doesn’t now mean that it is okay to violate the Constitution. And this procedure is absolutely a violation of the Constitution.

As I’ve said before, if I am required to purchase health insurance against my will as presently required in the Senate bill being considered by the House, I will NOT purchase insurance and I will NOT pay any tax for not purchasing insurance. The House is now considering to “deem” the Senate bill passed. Morton’s proposed Business District


The following was sent to the members of the Morton Village Board. The vote to establish a Business District is set for Monday night—March 15, 2010.

After actually receiving and reading the proposed ordinance to establish a Morton Business District, it is clear that the two so called public hearings were a sham and a fraud. No one who was not involved in the process would know the extent of the proposal now before the Village Board. This is not about a private business “beautification” program to improve the business district. Rather, it is a power grab of unprecedented proportions by the Village of Morton to allow it to control ⅓ to ½ of the Village through four elected representatives.

1) Who knew that ⅓ to ½ of the Village is located in a business district?

2) Who knew that ⅓ to ½ of the Village was blighted?

3) Who knew that WalMart, Culvers, and the newly constructed Heritage Bank are located in a blighted area? What kind of poor business decisions did they make? Obviously, they need help from a caring government!

4) Who knew that not only does this ordinance impose an additional ¼% sales tax on products but that it also imposes “upon all persons engaged, in the Morton Business District, in the business of making sales of service, who, as an incident to making those sales of service, transfer tangible personal property within the Morton Business District, either in the form of tangible personal property or in the form of real estate as an incident to a sale of service.” Does this mean that the commission received for selling real estate within the Business District will now be taxed? Does this mean that an attorney drawing up a legal will would collect a sales tax of ¼% from his client? What other service will be taxed because of this provision? Repair work on an automobile?

5) Who knew that the Village may also impose a hotel operators’ occupation tax within the proposed Business District?

6) Who knew that estimated costs for the proposed Business District are over 10 million dollars? And given the historical evidence that governments notoriously underestimate total costs, the final cost will, no doubt, be much higher.

7) Who knew that the estimated cost of land acquisition, site preparation, and related activities is 2 million dollars?

8) Do the residents of the Village realize that four people will have the power to confiscate residential and business property through eminent domain to achieve the “desired” results of this newly established Business District? If this proposed ordinance passes, I would recommend that no one within or near the district sell their property. A residential property will sell for less if purchased by an individual than it will if purchased by the Village. It would, however, probably sell for even more if purchased by a developer who does not have the threat of eminent domain to achieve the purchase.

9) Is it true that once the Business District is established, the size of the district can be expanded by a majority vote of the Village Board? If so, are there any restricts to that expansion? If there are, what are those restrictions? Why haven’t we been told any of this?

The news article of February 17, 2010 published in the Morton-Times specifically said that “The sales tax increase would not affect purchases, such as groceries, cars and medicine.” (2/17/10, page 3) And yet according to the proposed ordinance, “This tax is not imposed on food for human consumption that is to be consumed off the premises where it is sold (other than alcoholic beverages [Is this why the Village was so adamant about allowing alcohol to be sold at our two major grocery stores?—my addition] soft drinks, and food that has been prepared for immediate consumption), prescription medicines, drugs, medical appliances, modifications to a motor vehicle for the purposes of rending it usable by a disabled person, and insulin, urine testing materials, syringes, and needles used by diabetics, for human use.” I don’t see any mention of not imposing this tax on the purchase of cars. Why did no one correct that error if it is an error? Why don’t you want the truth about this proposed ordinance known until it is too late?

Before a vote is taken on this proposal ordinance, I would suggest that every member of the Village Board read The Best-Laid Plans, How Government Planning Harms Your Quality of Life, Your Pocketbook, and Your Future by Randal O’Toole © 2007. Specifically, read Part Two “Why Planning Fails,” Part Three “Land-Use Planning,” Part Four “Why Planners Fail,” Part Six “Why Government Fails,” and Part Seven “Instead of Planning.”

From “Why Government Fails”: “The fundamental premise behind government planning is that government can be benignly objective and even altruistic. Whereas private individuals and corporations work only in their own self-interest, only government can protect the common good. Yet this runs counter to almost every experience Americans have with their governments.” (page 279)

Government elected officials and employees tend to be intelligent. And yet none of them are wise enough to alter supply and demand principles over time. None of them! One current, glaring example is the financial difficulties and possible bankruptcy of Firefly Energy Inc. and the six million dollars loaned to the company by the City of Peoria and Peoria County. Don’t forget, the same governmental body that allows the establishment of a Morton Business District has also spent the State to the edge of bankruptcy. Do you really want to follow their lead?

If the Village Board does not either table this proposed ordinance and hold two legitimate hearings where all of the facts are know beforehand or vote to defeat this power grab of the Village Board, I predict that the following events may well occur:

1) a boycott of all businesses within the proposed business district. Since it seems that the business community is supporting this raid on our checkbook and seems to believe that they deserve to spend our money more than we do, it would only be fitting to stop giving them our money.

2) a law suit arguing that the law allowing the establishment of the Business District is unconstitutional under the Illinois Constitution.

3) a no vote on any and all referendums placed before the voters of the Village including, but not limited to, all school referendums. If the Village believes it better knows how to spend our money than we do and we can’t stop it, we can stop our money from being spent in areas where our vote is needed to approve of the expenditure.

4) contested elections again any Board member who supports the confiscation of our property through eminent domain and an increase in our tax to pay for said confiscation.

5) the ¼% sales taxes will be increased before the life of the Business District expires unless the Board members who support the District are replaced.

Why does the Village of Morton want to join the parade of governmental bodies that are trying to establish a “Nanny State?” Every one of them are failing and plunging that government deeper and deeper into debt. Let us be responsible for our own actions. Get your hand out of our pocket!

Boycott of PepsiCo is suspended

“PepsiCo practices reflect change; AFA suspends boycott

American Family Association (AFA) has suspended its boycott of PepsiCo. After monitoring the company for several months, AFA is satisfied the company has withdrawn its major financial contributions to gay activist groups.

AFA launched a boycott of PepsiCo after the company made $500,000 donations to Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) in 2008. Records from PepsiCo, HRC and PFLAG indicate repeat donations did not occur in 2009.

AFA President Tim Wildmon said more than 500,000 people signed the Boycott PepsiCo Pledge.

Wildmon said a few minor issues remain, and AFA will continue to bring these to the attention of PepsiCo. ‘We feel we have made our point,’ he said. ‘Boycotts have been a last resort for us at AFA, and the PepsiCo boycott was started to address issues of concern to us—especially the promotion of the homosexual agenda in the culture. AFA will continue to challenge major U.S. companies to remain neutral in the culture wars rather than to use their resources to promote controversial issues.”

I checked this out early Wednesday morning. Click on the “STOP Obamacare” on the home page and it provides a list of the possible vote of some House members on the issue of the Nationalization of Healthcare. It is my understanding that the list is being updated daily.

1) “Probable Yes” Lists 23 Representatives

2) “Lean Yes” Lists 9 Representatives

3) “Toss-Up” Lists 21 Representatives

4) “Lean No” Lists 8 Representatives

5) “Probable No” Lists 26 Representatives

Call these Representatives and ask then to vote NO!!! The site also says 166 Representatives are a solid yes vote.

166 + 23 + 9 = 198. The House of Representatives needs a majority yes vote of those voting (NOT an absolute majority). The votes are not yet there. As I said in an earlier post, if they were, they would be voting. Check the website and contact these members of the House.

Contact these Representatives and ask then to vote NO!!!

Let me make this perfectly clear, once again. What has passed the Senate and what has passed the House is ALWAYS referred to by the mass media and Barack Hussein Obama and his cohorts as healthcare reform. IT IS NOT REFORM!!! It is an attempt to NATIONALIZE healthcare in this nation. It is an attempt to NATIONALIZE approximately 1/6th of the American economy. It will NOT work!!!

Healthcare Nationalization update


Forget about the supposed bill coming from Barack Hussein Obama! It hasn’t been written and it has to be passed by both Houses of Congress. It’s not going to happen. It is a red herring being helped by the lapdog mass news media.

Forget about reconciliation! There is nothing to reconcile. An identical bill has to be passed by both Houses before there is something to reconcile. If an identical bill passes both Houses there is no need for reconciliation since the bill has passed. It is a red herring being helped by the lapdog mass news media.

Forget about the already passed House bill! The Senate isn’t even considering the House bill. It is a red herring being helped by the lapdog mass news media.

The important bill is the Senate bill currently in the House of Representatives. Concentrate your efforts in convincing the members of the House NOT to pass the Senate Bill. The Speaker DOES NOT NOW have the votes to pass the bill. If she did, they would be voting on it right now!

January and February temperature and rainfall


This January (2010) is similar to, but not as cold as, the January temperature in 2009. According to the Peoria Journal Star February 1, 2010, page B6, the average temperature departure for the month of January was -2.8°. Cold, but not as cold as the January 2009 average temperature departure of -4.0°.

I wrote the following on my March 3, 2009 post:

“As is often the case, February 2009 reversed the trend of January 2009. According to the Peoria Journal Star on March 1, 2009 page B6, February was warmer than normal. In fact, February was 3.1° warmer than normal. The rainfall was higher than normal too—2.02” instead of the normal 1.67” for February. Even so, the temperature for the first two months is still below normal at -0.7° and the rainfall is also still below normal at 2.74” instead of the normal 3.17”—.43” below normal. However, both the temperatures and the rainfall are moving closer to the normal amounts.”

After a cold January of -2.8° below normal, did February reverse the cold spell as occurred in 2009? NO!!! February was even COLDER than January. According to the Peoria Journal Star on March 1, 2010, page B6, February’s average departure for the month was a frigid -4.0°—even colder than January. The average departure for the year increased to -3.4°.

Meteorologists speak of meteorological winter which is from December 1 through February 28. Using the meteorological winter, December was +0.1° above normal, January was -2.8° below average, and February was -4.0 below average. Averaging the three months, meteorological winter was -2.23° below average.

I found this interesting. The following is from my September 2, 2009 post:

“Someone should tell the weather in Peoria to cut it out. It’s not behaving like an “Al Gore type of Global Warming.” How is that possible? But wait, the National Weather Service is predicting a warmer than normal winter. But wait, according to the Peoria Journal Star, September 1, 2009, page B5, the Farmers’ Almanac is predicting that the winter in most of the United States will feature numbing cold including the Peoria area. Personally, I hope the National Weather Service is correct—not the Almanac.”

So, the National Weather Service predicted a warmer than normal winter in our section of the nation. The Farmers’ Almanac predicted a harsh winter. The meteorological winter was -2.23° below average. Which prediction do you think was most accurate? All the more reason to believe in “Al Gore’s Global Warming?”

In contrast to 2009, the month to date rainfall for January in Peoria was once again above average at 1.88” while the normal average rainfall is 1.5” for the month of January. Consequently, after one month the average rainfall is .38” above normal. Last year for January the average rainfall was actually below average at .72”. Of course, by the end of 2009, the average rainfall was significantly above average.

The February average rainfall was once again slightly above normal at 1.86” while the normal average rainfall is 1.67” for the month of February. Thus, in February the average rainfall is .19” above normal. The January through February rainfall is 3.74” compared to a normal average rainfall of 3.17”. For the two months, rainfall is .57” above normal. By the way, I read an article that predicts that the rainfall for the year will once again be above average—for the third straight year.

As I’ve said before, no human can accurately predict what the weather is going to be like 50 years from today. We have difficulty predicting with 100% accuracy what the weather is going to be like seven days from now. This I do know. If GOD wants global warming as predicted by the “Al Gore gang” to occur, there is NOTHING man can do to stop it. If GOD doesn’t want global warming to occur, it won’t, no matter what man does. Of course, God could always let man proceed as they choose without HIS hand in it either way. I don’t know what will occur 50 years from now and NEITHER DOES any other human on this planet!

This I also know. If I were living a life of SIN, I’d be more concerned about what GOD will do today and tomorrow or what will happen to me after my death (none of us has a guarantee that we will live another fifty years) than what is going to occur in another 50 years!!!

Record high temperatures for March


UPDATE: I haven’t posted in a couple of days because I haven’t had time. I’m posting tonight because this post is basically a copy and paste of two previous posts since there were no changes in record high temperatures from 2008 to 2009. I may also post tomorrow about temperature since it won’t take long to write. I hope soon to return to video gambling. I did have one comment that I want to discuss—hopefully soon. Tonight’s post:

On July 6th, 2007, I posted for the first time on my blog the record high temperature for Peoria, Illinois for each day of the month of July with the year the record occurred. I began the post with this paragraph:

Anyone ever ask you, “Hot enough for you?” It seems like I hear that every summer. I was at a funeral recently. I can’t remember the age of the person but I think she was around 90 years of age. One of the individuals who talked about her life mentioned that she often talked about how hot it was in 1936. 1936? But global warming is a new phenomenon! How could it be hot in 1936?

I had a post for each month from July of 2007 through June of 2008. I stopped at June because I did not have the new figures for the second half of the year. I now have the figures for January through June. Therefore, I thought I would begin the process again.

First, here are the conclusions for January:

For January:

01) The record high temperatures for January ranged from 71° to a low of 56°.
02) There were two highs in the 70’s, three in the 50’s, and twenty-six in the 60’s.
03) The most record high temperatures for a decade occurred in the 1890’s and 1950’s with 5 each.
04) The decade of the 1880’s was the only decade with no record high dates.
05) The decade of the 1930’s had 2 record high temperature dates.
06) Four dates in the 2000’s had record high temperatures.
07) The highest record high temperature of 71° occurred on January 23, 1909.
08) The lowest record high temperature of 56° occurred on January 30, 1988.

For the month of January, the 2000’s lead the 1930’s with 4 record highs for the 2000’s and only 2 record highs for the 1930’s—a 2 to 1 advantage. It must be “Al Gore’s” global warming—or not!

For February:

01) The record high temperatures for February ranged from 74° to a low of 54°.
02) There were eight highs in the 70’s, two in the 50’s, and eighteen in the 60’s.
03) The most record high temperatures for a decade occurred in the 1930’s with 8.
04) The decades of the 1880’s, 1960’s, and 1980’s had no record high dates.
05) One date in the 2000’s had record high temperatures.
07) The highest record high temperature of 74° occurred on February 10, 1932.
08) The lowest record high temperature of 54° occurred on February 2, 1920.
09) The year of 1930 had five of six straight days with record high temperatures.

The 2000’s lead over the 1930’s of 2 to 1 has been reversed. The 1930’s from January through February now has 10 record high temperatures. The 2000’s now has five. The 1930’s now has a 2 to 1 advantage over the 2000’s. The reversal occurred in one month. It must be “Al Gore’s” global warming—or not!

The Peoria Journal Star on December 27, 2009, page S3 published “The Weather Month by Month.” According to the Peoria Journal Star, here are the record highs for Peoria for the month of March with the year of that record high.

For March:

01) The record high temperatures for March ranged from 87° to a low of 70°.
02) There were fourteen highs in the 80’s, and seventeen in the 70’s.
03) The most record high temperatures for a decade occurred in 4 different decades—the 1900’s, 1980’s, 1990’s, and 2000’s—with four in each decade.
04) The decade of the 1880’s had no record high dates.
05) One date in the 1930’s had record high temperatures.
06) The highest record high temperature of 87° occurred on March 21, 1907.
07) The lowest record high temperature of 70° occurred on March 5, 1945.

Now it is a horse race! In January, the 2000’s led the 1930’s by a 2 to 1 margin. The 1930’s from January through February had 10 record high temperatures. The 2000’s had five. The 1930’s has one more record high temperature in March giving the 1930’s a total of 11 for the first three months of the year. The 2000’s added four more record high temperatures to its previous total of five increasing its three month total to nine just two less than the eleven of the 1930’s. The race is on! It must be “Al Gore’s” global warming—or not!
