Unless the House of Representatives returns before the end of the year to try to sneak a Nationalized Healthcare bill through Congress in the dead of night—under the cover of darkness to cover their dark hearts, tonight’s post will be my last one for this year. 07) November 30, 2008—Obama named pro-abortion Sen. Hillary Clinton as the Secretary of State. Clinton has an unblemished pro-abortion voting record and has supported making unlimited abortions an international right.

08) December 10, 2008—Obama selects pro-abortion former Clinton administration official Jeanne Lambrew to become the deputy director of the White House Office of Health Reform. Planned Parenthood is ‘excited’ about the selection.

09) December 10, 2008—Obama transition team publishes memo from dozens of pro-abortion groups listing their laundry list of pro-abortions actions they want him to take.

21) March 10, 2009—Obama announces the creation of a new foreign policy position to focus on women’s issues. He names Melanne Verveer, an abortion advocate, to occupy the post.

22) March 10, 2009—Reverses an executive order to press for more research into ways of obtaining embryonic stem cells without harming human life. The order Obama scrapped would have promoted new forms of stem cell research.

Nationalized Healthcare—Senator Ben Nelson sells-out the preborn for his State’s thirty pieces of silver

At 1:00 a.m. today, literally in the dead of night, the United States Senate on a straight party line voted to move closer to the health care takeover.

60 Democrats voted YES and 40 Republicans voted NO.

In my 25 years in the political arena I thought I had seen it all for political pay-offs, crass deal cutting, and bare-knuckle threats. But, Majority Leader Reid, and sadly, even President Obama reached a new low. To avoid the blizzard of calls from their constituents, folks like you and me, most Democrat Senators actually turned off their phones as they prepared for the dead of night vote on Monday morning.

A couple of examples:

Senator Ben Nelson got an unprecedented deal to force federal taxpayers to pick up 100% of the cost of Nebraska’s Medicaid expansion—forever.

Connecticut’s Senator, Christopher Dodd, got a $100 million earmark for a hospital at the University of Connecticut.

Vermont Senators Pat Leahy and Bernie Sanders, who had been threatening to oppose the bill from the Left, got an extra $250 million in Medicaid funding.

In Florida, Senator Bill Nelson got three counties carved out of Medicare Advantage cuts that will happen everywhere else in the country.

Of course we know about the ‘Louisiana Purchase’ where Reid and Obama paid $300 million of our taxpayer dollars to the pet projects of Senator Landrieu to secure her vote.

Yes, this is frustrating. Yes, we lost a round in the Senate and it was a tough one.

But, we cannot give up the fight. And, we’re not. After Senator Nelson’s cave-in on Saturday, Americans for Prosperity sponsored a rally yesterday with one day’s notice in Omaha, which Mike Huckabee flew out to headline. On the last Sunday afternoon before Christmas, the press reported that over 1,800 fired-up grassroots activists showed up to tell Senator Nelson what they thought of his sellout! In Virginia, where Senator Jim Webb was a key swing vote, we held a state tele-town hall call with Congressman Frank Wolf on Saturday and over 10,000 people joined the call with a full 5,000 of those folks staying on for extended periods of time. We asked people to go to TellWebbNO.com and send an email or make a call to Senator Webb and thousands did just that. He was the last Democrat to publicly announce his support for the bill, around 9:00 p.m. last night, and we will hold him accountable for caving.

Here are the next steps on the Congressional front.

The second big vote to end debate on the health care takeover bill will occur around 7 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

If Reid and Obama hold all 60 of their votes, then there will be one more cloture vote (to end debate) Wednesday evening and a final vote on passage of the bill sometime on Thursday.

After that, the House and Senate would have to hold a conference to work through the considerable differences in the House and Senate versions of the legislation.

Then, the health care takeover would have to pass both chambers again. That final battle would most likely take place in early January.

It’s the Holiday Season. And we’ve been in a long hard fight. You’ve done so much. Sacrificed a lot. But, I’m asking you to do two last things before these final Senate votes.

1. CLICK HERE TO Contact your Senators one more time to tell them you are fully aware of all the pork-barrel earmarks, vote buying and political corruption in this health care bill. And, that you want them to reject this kind of politics and vote NO. If your Senators are Republicans, THANK THEM for voting against this bill this morning.

2. Take a moment to email your friends/family list. YOU CAN USE THIS LINK to ask them to take action by contacting their Senators today. If we can show a frenzy of activity now—just a few days before Christmas—that will send a powerful message.

We’re winning with the American public. Every poll shows that. This political class in Washington knows that and so they are desperately trying to get this thing done now using the Holiday Season and the dark of night as cover. Let’s not let them get away with it.

Praise GOD! Monday night, the Morton Village Board voted 5-0 to ban video gambling within Morton.

Video Gambling—list of reasons to ban video gambling


UPDATE: I receive an e-mail dated December 18, 2009 from the Illinois Church Action on Alcohol & Addiction Problems (ILCAAAP—http://www.ilcaaap.org/) updating the names of communities that have now banned video gambling in Illinois. On my post of December 16th, I listed forty communities that have banned video gambling. The number has now increased to 48. I am listing the addition eight communities tonight. They are:

I e-mailed the list of the forty communities which have banned video gambling to all Morton Village Trustees and the Morton Mayor Saturday morning. I also e-mailed them the following information which I’m posting this morning as e-mailed to them.

The list of reasons to ban video gambling in the Village of Morton:

“When I spoke before the Village Board at the last meeting, I fully expected to provide more information for the Board meeting this coming Monday night. I certainly have more information. However, with the excellent material present by Trustee Hermann, plus the information I have already provided, and your own personal research; I’m confident you should have sufficient information to reach an informed decision.

Therefore, I’m only sending an update on the communities and counties that have banned video gambling along with those who are presently considering it. You may have more complete information than I do in this regard. I am also including a summary of reasons to ban video gambling in Morton. I originally had more listed than the ten included in the final list but cut it back to ten because I wanted all of them to be included in no more than one page in case I needed to use the page for another purpose.

I hope and pray the Board will take a vote Monday evening and that each member before voting will explain the reason(s) for his/her vote. Of course, I would also prefer a yes vote to ban video gambling. Thank you again for your consideration of this important issue.”

“Video Gambling—ten reasons it should be banned in Morton

01) The General Assembly violated the Illinois Constitution when passing the law.

02) Government elected officials receive thousands, if not millions, of dollars in campaign donations from gambling interests.

03) People who would not gamble when it was illegal will gamble when it is State sanctioned.

04) Easier accessibility will increase video gambling.

05) Gambling is addictive and even the State and gambling interests agree.

06) Video gambling is the “crack cocaine” of gambling addictions.

07) Gambling destroys families—increases debt, increases family stress, leads to crime including public officials committing crimes linked to gambling, leads to more suicides.

08) Video gambling removes money from the community that can not be spent within other community businesses.

09) Video gambling makes the community less desirable for other businesses to locate within the community.

10) Video gambling is State sanctioned stealing. The law specifically defines how much may be stolen by each machine—20% over the life of the machine.

Good government demands that the Morton Village Board ban video gambling.

40 communities (updated to 48 communities—my addition) and 5 counties have already banned video gambling demonstrating their support for good government. 27 communities, including Morton, and 4 additional counties, including Tazewell County, are considering banning video gambling. Is Morton going to demonstrate its support for good government or capitulate to the General Assembly and the special interest groups that are promoting video gambling?

Banning video gambling on December 21st would be an excellent Christmas present to the people of the Village of Morton.”

We are at a critical point in our fight against government run healthcare.

We need to have the same urgency and intensity level that we displayed at the Congressional Town Hall Meetings during the August recess. Nationalized Healthcare—religious organizations that support MURDER

“United Church of Christ, Methodist, Episcopal, Presbyterian Churches OK Abortion Funding

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com)—A collection of pro-abortion religious groups authored a letter today to members of the Senate that essentially places them on record supporting taxpayer funding of abortions. The letter expresses their opposition to the Nelson amendment, released today, to remove abortion funding from the Senate government-run health care bill.

The Episcopal Church, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), United Church of Christ, and United Methodist Church are the four mainline protestant denominations to sign the letter asking lawmakers to oppose the Nelson amendment.

They are joined by the Disciples Justice Action Center, NA'AMAT USA, the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, a pro-abortion group, The Religious Institute, and the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations.

The groups say their position is that there is a ‘social and moral obligation to ensure access to’ abortions ‘at every stage in an individual’s life.’

Nationalized Healthcare—Doctor resigns from AMA


I was going to post another comment dealing with video gambling. Then all kinds of current news occurred today. I was torn among three items dealing with “Nationalized Healthcare,” an item dealing with “Global Warming,” and video gambling. I settled on an item dealing with “Nationalized Healthcare.”

As many of you may know, the American Medical Association (AMA) has endorsed the concept of Nationalized Healthcare. More specifically, the group has endorsed the currently debated Senate version of Nationalized Healthcare.

Listening to “Prime Time America”—a two hour program aired from 4 PM to 6 PM weekdays on a local area christian radio station, a doctor—Dr. David Stevens—was being interviewed. He is a christian doctor who said he had been a member of the AMA for about fifteen years. He said he joined the organization to attempt, along with other members, to change the direction of the AMA.

He said that at one time about 75% of doctors belonged to the AMA. Today, it is around 20% and falling. It is falling because he and others are now resigning because of the immoral policies of the AMA. He and others have come to realize that the AMA is not likely to be changed from the inside. (As an aside: That is the very reason I left the Democratic Party after being a voting Democrat all of my adult life until the 2000 election when, for the first time, I voted for a Republican—George W. Bush. The Democratic Party was NOT going to be changed from the inside.)

Doctor Stevens gave some examples of the immoral policies of the American Medical Association (AMA)—supporting the MURDER of pre-born babies, supporting embryonic stem cell research, promoting the study of the “benefits” of medical marihuana, supporting homosexual marriage, and now supporting “Nationalized Healthcare.” In his words, the AMA traded-off their support for Nationalized Healthcare in return for more money from the government in terms of Medicare and Medicaid payments. He stated it was unethical (Duh!) to support a political policy in return for more money benefits. And it is. It’s called bribery in legal terms. I guess since the government is involved it would be legalized bribery. Don’t you just love “change you can believe in”!!!???

On a personal note, of course, at the present time I live in Morton located in Tazewell County. Morton is considering the possibility of banning video gambling. Tazewell County has taken it up and has tabled it for the present.

I also lived in Kane County when I taught in Illinois. While living in Kane County, I lived in both Batavia and Elburn for a time. Both communities have banned video gambling. I worshipped in West Chicago which has also banned video gambling. I also lived in St. Charles, where I taught while living in Kane County, and that community is now considering banning video gambling. That’s all the communities I lived in during my time in Kane County. The sequence was Batavia, St. Charles, Elburn, and then back to St. Charles.

Three communities and one county have successfully banned video gambling. Two communities and one county need to do the same. If they do, will that end my involvement? NO!!!

January through November temperature and rainfall for 2009


The following is a portion of my February 3, March 3, April 14, May 2, June 2, July 2, August 5, September 2, 2009, and October 3, 2009 posts:

“For January of 2008 according to the Peoria Journal Star, February 1, 2008, page B6 and February 2, 2008, page B8; the temperature average departure for the month (of January) was +2.9°. The month precipitation was 3.22” with the normal precipitation amount being 1.50”. Consequently, Peoria was 1.72 inches of rain above the normal amount. If the same averages continue for the remainder of the year, the average temperature will be 34.8° above normal and the average rainfall will be 20.64” higher than average. Do you think that will occur?

The year of 2008 is now completed. Was the average temperature departure for the year 34.8° above normal? Of course not. Was the average rainfall for the year 20.64” higher than normal? No. However, the average rainfall was above the norm and did approach the 20.64” that the month of January seemed to allude to.

By the end of December, the average temperature for Peoria, Illinois was NOT above normal. It was actually 0.2° below normal—NOT exactly an ‘Al Gore type’ of global warming that is being predicted. The average rainfall was 10.47 inches above normal—36.10 inches is normal for the year while Peoria actually had a total of 46.57 inches of rain. (Peoria Journal Star, January 1, 2009, page B6)

This January (2009) is basically the reverse of the January in 2008. According to the Peoria Journal Star February 1, 2009, page B6, the average temperature departure for the month of January was -4.0°. The temperature for the month was an average of 4° below normal. If the same averages continue for the remainder of the year, the average temperature will be 48° below normal. Do you believe that will happen? I sure pray not!

In contrast to 2008, the month to date rainfall for January in Peoria was .72” while the normal average rainfall is 1.5” for the month of January. Consequently, after one month the average rainfall is .78” below normal. If this trend continues for the rest of the year, Peoria will have less rainfall—9.36 inches less or if using percentages, which would be even more damaging, less than half of the rainfall for a normal year. Do you believe that will happen? I sure pray not! It would probably be a poor year for farming if it does.

As is often the case, February 2009 reversed the trend of January 2009. According to the Peoria Journal Star on March 1, 2009 page B6, February was warmer than normal. In fact, February was 3.1° warmer than normal. The rainfall was higher than normal too—2.02” instead of the normal 1.67” for February. Even so, the temperature for the first two months is still below normal at -0.7° and the rainfall is also still below normal at 2.74” instead of the normal 3.17”—.43” below normal. However, both the temperatures and the rainfall are moving closer to the normal amounts.

The reversal continues! March 2009 continued the higher than normal temperatures of February. According to the Peoria Journal Star on April 1, 2009 page B6, March too was warmer than normal. In fact, March was 2.7° warmer than normal. Not higher than February but in the same range. The rainfall for March was also much higher than normal—7.49” instead of the normal 2.83”. The reversal is complete. The temperature for the first three months is now 0.5° above normal and the rainfall is also above normal at 10.23” instead of the normal 6.00”—4.23” above normal. It now seems we might have both a hot and wet year! The temperature changed in two months from -4.0° to +0.5°. A +4.5° change. In the meantime, the rainfall changed in two months from -.78” to +4.23” which is a change of about 5”.

April’s temperature and rainfall figures are now available. (Peoria Journal Star, May 1, 2009, page B6) April’s temperature was slightly below normal by -.3°. The average departure for the year decreased slightly from +.5° to +.3°. Peoria is now +.3° above normal for the first four months of the year.

Rainfall continues to be more than normal. The rainfall for the month was 6.64” while the normal is 3.56”. For the first four months of the year, rainfall is now 7.31” above normal—the normal is 9.56” and the rainfall to date is 16.87”. From news reports, farmers have not yet been able to get into the fields to plant. Hopefully, we will soon have enough dry days to allow planting. If not, ……………

May’s temperature and rainfall figures as published in the Peoria Journal Star, June 1, 2009, page B6 include the following: May’s temperature was slightly above normal by +.3°. However, the average departure for the year did not change remaining at +.3°. Peoria is still +.3° above normal for the first five months of the year. Yet, rainfall continues to be above normal. The rainfall for the month was 5.74” while the normal is 4.17”. For the first five months of the year, rainfall is now 8.92” above normal—the normal is 13.73” and the rainfall to date is 22.65”. Could the “Al Gore gang” be right?

June’s temperature and rainfall figures as published in the Peoria Journal Star, July 1, 2009, page B6 include the following: June’s temperature was above normal by +1.3°. The average departure for the year changed from +.3° to +.4°. Peoria is +.4° above normal for the first half of the year. Still, rainfall continues to be above normal. The rainfall for the month was 4.76” while the normal is 3.84”. For the first half of the year, rainfall is now 9.84” above normal—the normal is 17.57” and the rainfall to date is 27.41”. Warmer than normal and much more rain than normal so far this year.

July’s temperature and rainfall figures as published in the Peoria Journal Star, August 1, 2009, page B6 include a stunning reversal: July’s temperature plunged downward by -4.4° below normal even lower than the -4° of January. The average departure for the year reversed course from +.4° to -.3°—a change of -.7°. Rainfall also changed direction but not nearly as drastically. The rainfall for the month was 3.91” while the normal is 4.02”. Rainfall is now 9.73” above normal—the normal is 21.59” and the rainfall to date is 31.32”. It is now cooler than normal but with much more rain than normal so far this year.

Some side notes for July in Peoria and Illinois:

July was the coolest July on record in Peoria. There was not a single day that reached 90° or above. This has happened only one other time in the recorded history of temperatures for Peoria. July was the coolest July on record for Illinois. However, the rainfall for the State was above normal although slightly below for Peoria.

Could this possibly be “Al Gore’s Global Warming?” If so, how cool would it have been otherwise? You think the President of the United States, who is from Illinois, noticed? Do you think he cares? Do you think he’s following science?”

August’s temperature and rainfall figures:

August’s temperature and rainfall figures as published in the Peoria Journal Star, September 1, 2009, page B6 continues the stunning reversal of temperatures started in July but not to the extent of the July reversal: August’s temperature continued downward by -2.6° below normal. The average departure for the year continues its reversed course from -.3° to -.6°. The reversal is now over a degree lower than the March high of +.5°—a reversal of -1.1°.

Rainfall, in the meantime, switched back to being higher than normal. The rainfall for the month was 4.65” while the normal is 3.16”. Rainfall is now 11.22” above normal—the normal is 24.75” and the rainfall to date is 35.97”. It continues to be cooler than normal but with much more rain than normal so far this year.

Someone should tell the weather in Peoria to cut it out. It’s not behaving like an “Al Gore type of Global Warming.” How is that possible? But wait, the National Weather Service is predicting a warmer than normal winter. But wait, according to the Peoria Journal Star, September 1, 2009, page B5, the Farmers’ Almanac is predicting that the winter in most of the United States will feature numbing cold including the Peoria area. Personally, I hope the National Weather Service is correct—not the Almanac.

September stopped and reversed the temperature decline that started in July. September’s temperature was higher than normal by +0.9°. The average departure for the year inched back toward normal falling from -.6° to -.4°.

Rainfall, in the meantime, continued being slightly higher than normal. The rainfall for the month was 3.53” while the normal is 3.12”. Rainfall is now 11.63” above normal—the normal is 27.87” and the rainfall to date is 39.5”. Furthermore, with three months left in the year, rainfall is already higher than the normal of 36.10 inches which was the normal amount as of December 2008 before factoring in the 2008 total. Even if there was no moisture for the rest of the year, Peoria will be above normal for the 2nd year in a row. It continues to be cooler than normal but with much more rain than normal so far this year.

The October temperature and rainfall figures as published in the Peoria Journal Star, November 1, 2009, page B8: October was colder than normal. It was a lot colder than normal—it was -4° colder than normal. For the year from January through October, Peoria was -.8° cooler than normal.

Rainfall, in the meantime, continued to be higher than normal. The rainfall for the month was 7.95” while the normal is 2.77”. Rainfall is now 16.81” above normal—the normal is 30.64” and the rainfall to date is 47.45”. Peoria is now above normal for the 2nd year in a row. It continues to be cooler than normal but with much more rain than normal so far this year.

The November temperature and rainfall figures as published in the Peoria Journal Star, December 1, 2009, page B6: Fortunately, November was much, much warmer than normal—it was +6.5° warmer than normal. For the year from January through November, Peoria is only -.1° cooler than normal.

Rainfall, in the meantime, was slightly less than normal. The rainfall for the month was 2.89” while the normal is 2.99”. Rainfall is now 16.71” above normal—the normal is 33.63” and the rainfall to date is 50.34”. Peoria is now significantly above normal for the 2nd year in a row. It I s only slightly cooler than normal but with much more rain than normal so far this year.

This is what the Bible says about our climate: “Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it. The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: ‘Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. Now, let me think. Should I believe “Al Gore and his cohorts’ prediction of “Global Warming” fifty years into the future or should I believe GOD’S sure PROMISE?

GOD’S PROMISE: “‘As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.’”

As I’ve said before, no human can accurately predict what the weather is going to be like 50 years from today. We have difficulty predicting with 100% accuracy what the weather is going to be like seven days from now. This I do know. If GOD wants global warming as predicted by the “Al Gore gang” to occur, there is NOTHING man can do to stop it. If GOD doesn’t want global warming to occur, it won’t, no matter what man does. Of course, GOD could always let man proceed as they choose without HIS hand in it either way. I don’t know what will occur 50 years from now and NEITHER DOES any other human on this planet!

This I also know. If I were living a life of SIN, I’d be more concerned about what GOD will do today and tomorrow or what will happen to me after my death (none of us has a guarantee that we will live another fifty years) than what is going to occur in another 50 years!!!

“Step Three: Off To Copenhagen While Climategate Raises Temperatures at Home

Next week President Obama will attend yet another summit, this one in Copenhagen, Denmark under the auspices of the United Nations. (TRUST NOTHING coming from the UN!—my addition) The point of the summit is to develop policies in response to the ‘consensus’ around scientific evidence that man’s activities are causing global temperatures to rise.

The problem is, there is no such consensus. And President Obama’s trip to Copenhagen—not to mention his administration’s attempt to curry favor with the international climate change crowd by announcing Monday that it will regulate carbon as a pollutant—is a dangerous travesty in light of this fact.

The emails uncovered from the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit show a cynical attempt by leading climate scientists to manipulate data and suppress any dissent by scientists to the manmade climate change orthodoxy.

What’s worse, the emails reveal that the Climate Research Unit inexplicably lost or destroyed much of its original data (Which do you think it was?—my addition)—the very data that the United Nations relied heavily on to form the conclusions about climate change being acted on this week in Copenhagen.

And it gets even worse.

In making its announcement this week that greenhouse gases will be regulated by the government under the Clean Air Act—raising the costs of virtually every aspect of life in the United States—the Obama Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) also relied on the mysteriously-gone-missing data of the Climate Research Unit. (Bureaucratic regulation is more dangerous than the “Cap and Trade” legislation presently being considered in the Senate and already passed in the House. Personally, I don’t believe Congress will agree upon an identical bill. If the EPA get’s its way, Congress doesn’t have to write a law—the EPA has done it for them! I expect a ton of law suits if this attempt to regular without a Congressional mandate goes forward. I’m also not concerned about a treaty coming out of Copenhagen since a treaty needs a ⅔ vote of the Senate for approval. That will NOT happen in the present Senate and I expect more Republican Senators after the next election. Again, Barack Hussein Obama might attempt to implement the basics of any treaty through the EPA and other parts of the bureaucracy. Who do you trust?—my addition)

It’s little wonder then, that Americans are increasingly not buying the alarmism. Polls show a dramatic decline in public belief that global warming is a serious problem.

If President Obama and the Democratic Congress are sincere in their belief that human activity is changing our environment, they will work to restore the public trust in the science they claim underlies this belief. (They can’t because the science DOES NOT support their almost mystical “belief” in “Global Warming!”—my addition)

Before anyone goes to Copenhagen, before any EPA ruling is implemented, and before cap and trade is voted on in the Senate, the Democrats who control Washington must open a full scale investigation into bias and politicization in the climate change community. (They won’t!—my addition)

“With your support the Heritage Foundation has delivered more than 44,000 comments to the Administration dissenting from EPA action that would have enacted costly regulations on families and businesses. But the fight isn’t over.

Yesterday, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ignored our comments (What’s new—my addition) and declared carbon dioxide to be a dangerous pollutant under the Clean Air Act—granting itself authority for an enormous, unprecedented regulatory undertaking. Because 85 percent of the U.S. economy operates on fossil fuel, the EPA would essentially have the ability to regulate every aspect of life in America.

(THE EPA theoretically MAY control our breathing. The following is from Microsoft ® Encarta ® 2007 [DVD]. Redmond, Wa: Microsoft, Corporation, 2006.

“Respiratory System: In anatomy and physiology, organs that deliver oxygen to the circulatory system for transport to all body cells. Oxygen is essential for cells, which use this vital substance to liberate the energy needed for cellular activities. In addition to supplying oxygen, the respiratory system aids in removing of CARBON DIOXIDE (my capitalization), preventing the lethal buildup of this waste product in body tissues. Day-in and day-out, without the prompt of conscious thought, the respiratory system carries out its life-sustaining activities. If the respiratory system’s tasks are interrupted for more than a few minutes, serious, irreversible damage to tissues occurs, followed by the failure of all body systems, and ultimately, death.

While the intake of oxygen and removal of CARBON DIOXIDE (my capitalization) are the primary functions of the respiratory system, it plays other important roles in the body. The respiratory system helps regulate the balance of acid and base in tissues, a process crucial for the normal functioning of cells. Oxygen in the air moves from the lungs through blood vessels to the heart, which pumps the oxygen-rich blood to all parts of the body. Oxygen then moves from the bloodstream into cells, which completes the first phase of respiration. In the cells, oxygen is used in a separate energy-producing process called cellular respiration, which produces CARBON DIOXIDE (my capitalization) as a byproduct. The second phase of respiration begins with the movement of CARBON DIOXIDE (my capitalization) from the cells to the bloodstream. The bloodstream carries CARBON DIOXIDE (my capitalization) to the heart, which pumps the CARBON DIOXIDE (my capitalization)-laden blood to the lungs. In the lungs, breathing out, or exhalation, removes CARBON DIOXIDE (my capitalization) from the body, thus completing the respiration cycle.” [Thus, every time you and I breathe out, we ARE dangerous polluters according to EPA edict and possibly subject to EPA regulation. But, wait. That’s not all. As you all should know:

“Photosynthesis, process by which green plants and certain other organisms use the energy of light to convert CARBON DIOXIDE (my capitalization) and water into the simple sugar glucose. In so doing, photosynthesis provides the basic energy source for virtually all organisms. An extremely important byproduct of photosynthesis is oxygen, on which most organisms depend.

Photosynthesis occurs in green plants, seaweeds, algae, and certain bacteria. These organisms are veritable sugar factories, producing millions of new glucose molecules per second. Plants use much of this glucose, a carbohydrate, as an energy source to build leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds. They also convert glucose to cellulose, the structural material used in their cell walls. Most plants produce more glucose than they use, however, and they store it in the form of starch and other carbohydrates in roots, stems, and leaves. The plants can then draw on these reserves for extra energy or building materials. Each year, photosynthesizing organisms produce about 170 billion metric tons of extra carbohydrates, about 30 metric tons for every person on earth.

Photosynthesis has far-reaching implications. Like plants, humans and other animals depend on glucose as an energy source, but they are unable to produce it on their own and must rely ultimately on the glucose produced by plants. Moreover, the oxygen humans and other animals breathe is the oxygen released during photosynthesis.”

To simplify the process, while using oxygen to sustain our own lives, we produce carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is used by plants to produce simple sugar glucose and an extremely important byproduct of the photosynthesis process—oxygen. That oxygen produced by plants using carbon dioxide is continuously used by us to sustain life. Isn’t it a marvelous process CREATED by GOD? And yet the EPA has now identified carbon dioxide—a necessary ingredient of the life cycle on this planet—as a DANGEROUS pollutant that they will now attempt to regulate! Isn’t it marvelous what the mind of bureaucrats can conjure up!?)

And the economic effects of carbon dioxide regulations are grave:

1) cumulative gross domestic product (GDP) losses of $7 trillion by 2029,

2) single-year GDP losses exceeding $600 billion in some years,

3) energy cost increases of 30 percent or more,

4) and annual job losses exceeding 800,000 for several years.

This EPA announcement comes on the heels of the Climategate scandal, in which a significant number of emails and other documents from scientists at the Climate Research Unit (CRU) at East Anglia University in the United Kingdom were publicly revealed to show a blatant disregard for the scientific process and at worst a falsification of data. Whether or not these emails and documents demonstrate a deliberate cover-up of scientific data is not yet certain, but it surely is a reason to be further concerned with the notion of scientific consensus on global warming.

But regardless of the science, there is one notion all economists agree on: a cap-and-trade system will hurt our economy. (Candidate Barack Hussein Obama even admitted it during his campaign for President!—my addition) Experts from the liberal Brookings Institution to the independent Congressional Budget Office to the conservative National Association for Manufacturers agree with the Heritage Foundation that taxing American energy would result in fewer jobs and lower income—the only dispute is on just how many fewer jobs and how much less income.

Global Warming, leaked e-mails and a side dish of health issues


I’m returning for a few posts to “Global Warming” since some leaders and “scientists” of the international community are presently meeting to solve all our problems in this area. Or, our planet is doomed according to the “Global Alarmists”—sometimes referred to as the “Al Gore Gang.”

This week, more than 190 countries convened in Copenhagen to come up with an international plan to combat climate change. Or at least, that’s what they claim to be there for (rumor has it there are other, more entertaining options available).

But with recent email revelations that the climate data may not be as reliable as previously thought (or hoped?), is it possible that the delegates will concede that their case is not as clear cut as they said it was, and, as a result, temper their expectations and proclamations? (NO!!!—my addition)

Of course not:

The world has just ten years to bring greenhouse gas emissions under control before the damage they cause become irreversible, the Met Office has warned.

Should nations fail to tackle the issue, giant mirrors in space, artificial trees and other so called ‘geo-engineering solutions’ will be the only way to prevent disastrous overheating of the planet, the researchers warned.

After all this new information has been revealed, the powers that seemingly refuse to even acknowledge it. After everything changed, it seems that nothing has changed (including the incredible carbon footprint such a convention leaves. Can’t you get just as much done by sending each other a few emails? Oh wait...)

Perhaps that is the lesson to learn from these hacked emails which headline writers so glibly refer to as ‘Climategate’; When everything goes wrong, just keep on keeping on as if nothing has happened.

It took the Radical Green Agenda a few days to figure this out. Immediately after the controversy, the University of East Anglia (the organization responsible for the emails), promised to publish all their data so anyone and everyone could analyze their numbers. Then, one day later, we learned that the University threw away most of the data on which their doomsday global warming predictions were based. Power Line elaborates on this absurd action, which caused even liberal ally Jon Stewart to shake his head in disbelief:

Without the underlying data, other scientists cannot check the work that gives rise to the CRU’s (Climate Research Unit—my addition) findings of a long-term rise in temperature over the past 150 years. As the Times of London points out, these findings ‘are one of the main pieces of evidence used by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which says global warming is a threat to humanity.’

In the law, the discovery of this sort of intentional document destruction would quite likely give rise to some form of ‘adverse inference instruction,’ wherein the judge would instruct or encourage the jury to assume that the discarded evidence was harmful to the case of the party that destroyed it. I might be hesitant to apply this logic to the world of scientific inquiry were it not for the fact that the CRU (Climate Research Unit—my addition) scientists have demonstrated as little regard for honest adjudication of their position as your run-of-the-mill spoliator of evidence.

Yet the UN insists: Leaked emails won’t harm UN climate body. And UN General Secretary Ban Ki-Moon insists that the human role in global warming is not in question. See the trend? So what if you ‘rigged a consensus?’ Just pretend nothing has happened and keep shouting the same thing you’ve been shouting for years. And make sure to brainwash the children! It’s the same tactic they’ve used every step of the way. ‘THE SCIENCE IS SETTLED! THE SCIENCE IS SETTLED! WE MUST CALL THE PRESIDENT!’

The problem is that everyone is catching on. Our side has learned its lessons as well. In Australia, five significant members of the Liberal Party resigned their positions rather than play along with their leaders unabated calls for a carbon tax. Though the mainstream media is doing their “hardest” (expletive deleted by me—my addition) to hide the story, FoxNews, the blogosphere, and email newsletters such as this one have continued to spread the word. The people are realizing they’ve been tricked by Gore, and his friends in politics and the media and are responding with disbelief and outrage.

If there’s one lesson we hope the Radical Green Agenda will learn from these emails, it’s that stifling dissenting voices in science is as dangerous, if not more so, than stifling in the public square.

One of the most creative lessons learned from these emails comes from the always amusing blog Desperate Irish Housewife, who outlines a plan of action for when your worst nightmares come true, and you find yourself sitting down to take a final exam when you haven’t attended any of the classes:

Maybe you can “fake” (expletive deleted by me—my addition) your way through a college science exam. Look at the Climategate crew. Everything you need to learn about faking it is right there.

Incomplete data: Faulty—no, let’s call them daring—computer models. Stacked juries, rigged ‘peer reviews.’ And to give the whole thing real scientific authenticity, get a few gorgeous Hollywood stars to speak up for you. Actors know everything about “faking it” (expletive deleted by me—my addition). That’s how they make their living. There’s gold in them thar hills!

So the next time you have that ‘oh no I never finished college because I failed my science requirement’ dream, take a tip from Michael Mann and Phil Jones. Try this in your dream: Rig your data. Hire Gwyneth Paltrow to tell the world how important your fake data is. Then make a documentary film about it. (This is a lot easier than it sounds—anyone can make a documentary. Just ask Laurie David.) Cute polar-bear shots go a long way in the scientific community, trust me.

DIH (Desperate Irish Housewife—my addition) promises you will wake up a new person.

A champion liar. Maybe an Oscar winner. Or even a Nobel Prize winner.

Most Egregious Claim of the Week

Oh Al Gore. I know it makes you uncomfortable—to say the least—to see the cause you’ve worked so hard to promote fall apart before your very eyes. But is it really so much to ask that, in your half-hearted defenses of your collapsed agenda, you could at least try to stick to the truth? (Why start NOW?—my addition)

Not once, not twice, but three times in an interview with Slate, Mr. Gore claimed that the hacked climate emails were more than ten years old, and as such not of particular interest to anyone currently following the debate.

Ignoring the fact that there’s been no global warming for the last ten years, Mr. Gore is wrong in his most basic claim: The most recent of the emails was sent November 12th of this year. Andrew Bolt highlights some other important emails that fall within the ten year window:

...The emails which have Tom Wigley seeming (to me) to choke on the deceit are all from this year. Phil Jones’ infamous email urging other Climategate scientists to delete emails is from last year.

How closely did Gore read these emails? Did he actually read any at all? (Hey! He’s an ex-senator. What would you expect?—my addition) Was he lying or just terribly mistaken? What else has he got wrong? (Just about everything?—my addition)

Public schools and the homosexual agenda


“Parents of Elementary School Children Lose Rights

As the Director of School Advocacy, I write primarily about current problems in public schools. The topics about which I write are generated primarily by concerns brought to my attention by parents of current public school children; staff or faculty currently employed in public schools; or news stories. The reason I write so much about the problem of pro-homosexual advocacy in public education is that that is the dominant problem parents and school employees are encountering in government schools. (KEY PHRASE: THE DOMINANT PROBLEM!!!—my addition) I have two goals: First, to curtail the efforts of activist ideologues to use public education to transform the views of other people’s children on the nature and morality of homosexuality and cross-dressing. And second, to awaken the conservative community to their moral obligation to oppose these efforts with as much courage, conviction, forthrightness, vigor, and perseverance that activists demonstrate. Activist ideologues routinely mouth their respect for diversity all the while censoring conservative views with hypocritical abandon. (The ONLY DIVERSITY homosexuals TOLERATE is the view that supports their view of the world. They are more INTOLERANT than any other group I know—my addition.) Those parents, community members, faculty, and administrators who hold traditional views about homosexuality and cross-dressing must express them with clarity and boldness even if the result is scorn and hostility from those who have arrogantly assumed that only their views are entitled to be represented in academia. Focus on the Family’s Citizenlink wrote about a Dec. 2009 court decision in CA that I hope serves as a warning to Illinoisans about where their silence will lead:

Some of you may recall hearing about the plight of parents in Alameda, California who were told their elementary-age kids have to receive pro-gay lessons provided by the public school district—even if those lessons violate their families’ most deeply held religious convictions.The parents fought back with a lawsuit, asking the court to make the school district honor their requests to opt children out of the controversial teaching.But this week, the parents got bad news: Judge Frank Roesch of the Superior Court of California in Alameda County denied their request, giving schools carte blanche to indoctrinate kids against their parents’ wishes.The logic? The judge determined that ‘any opt out right’ is ‘outweighed by the policies against discrimination and harassment of students from LGBT [Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender] families.’ Translation: State laws and school provisions citing special protections for homosexual characteristics automatically trump parental rights and religious freedoms. (Next step for the parents is to appeal the decision with the help of Pacific Justice Institute.)Parents, please take note. This represents the latest tactics being used by gay activist groups to undermine your rights. And this specific Alameda case offers some lessons that are worth paying attention to: 1) Gay activists are aggressively pushing so-called anti-bullying or anti-harassment policies for schools that contain specific references to things like ‘sexual orientation’ and ‘gender identity.’ Once passed, they use these policies as legal teeth to enforce things like pro-gay curricula for six- and seven-year-olds.2) Homosexuality teaching is being couched within ‘tolerance’ and ‘bullying’ lessons as a way to skirt parental rights. Many state and local opt-out policies have wording that can be construed to only apply to subjects like health or sex education. Therefore, gay activists push schools to categorize homosexuality teaching under more general topics like ‘tolerance,’ ‘bullying prevention’ or ‘family diversity’—and then argue that opt-out provisions do not apply to these topics.That’s exactly what happened in Alameda. The judge bought the gay-activist and liberal school-attorney arguments—and decided that opt-out provisions in the state education code only apply to subjects formally categorized as ‘health’ instruction. And therefore, he found that parents don’t have the right to opt their kids out of so-called tolerance lessons.3) When it comes to battles between pro-gay ‘nondiscrimination’ laws and religious freedoms—religious freedoms are increasingly losing out. And this in turn, is creating alarming disrespect for religious viewpoints in public schools. In this case, for instance, attorneys for the Alameda school district felt free to vilify religious parents—listing as evidence against them that ‘they believe homosexuality is a sin’ (AND IT IS!!!—my addition) and accusing them of trying to ‘avoid having their children be taught respect.’ (CHRISTIANS are more capable of teaching respect (true respect) than ANY government school is!!!—my addition) This simply isn’t true. People of faith consider respect for others to be a core tenet of their religious teachings. And they believe respect is based on the fact that all people ‘are created equal’ by God. Respect should not be twisted into an excuse to indoctrinate young children into homosexual and ‘transgender’ activism. (And that is exactly what these programs are—GOVERNMENT SANCTIONED INDOCTRINATION SESSIONS!!!—my addition)

This CA court decision constitutes a troubling echo of a similar 2007 decision in Massachusetts in which Judge Mark Wolf wrote the following:

‘[P]ublic schools are entitled to teach anything that is reasonably related to the goals of preparing students to become engaged and productive citizens in our democracy. Diversity is a hallmark of our nation. (WRONG!!! A “melting pot” is a hallmark of our nation—my addition.) It is increasingly evident that our diversity includes differences in sexual orientation.... (WRONG AGAIN!!!—my addition)It is reasonable for public educators to teach elementary school students about individuals with different sexual orientations and about various forms of families, including those with same-sex parents.... (THEY ARE NOT AND NEVER WILL BE BIBLICAL FAMILIES!!!—my addition) In addition, it is reasonable for those educators to find that teaching young children to understand and respect differences in sexual orientation will contribute to an academic environment in which students who are gay, lesbian, or the children of same-sex parents will be comfortable and, therefore, better able to learn.... (And what about the academic environment of Christian children who are being INDOCTRINATED to accept SINFUL behavior as “normal?”—my addition)the Constitution does not compel [public schools]...to permit [parents] to exempt their children from teaching about homosexuality or same-sex marriage....’ (THERE IS NOT AND NEVER WILL BE BIBLICAL SAME-SEX MARRIAGE!!!—my addition)

Parents, no matter what age your children, tell all of their teachers that under no circumstance are your children to be presented with any resources that address homosexuality or ‘transgenderism.’ Tell your children’s teachers that this means no films, essays, newspaper or magazine articles, books, plays, assemblies, speakers, or anti-bullying resources. Because of the absolute censorship that pervades public education, you can be sure that all resources that address homosexuality and cross-dressing will affirm them. (Unfortunately, this seems to be true and now the National Education Association has endorsed homosexual behavior. How deeply our nation has fallen into depravity!!! SIN is endorsed and righteousness is condemned!!!—my addition) If your teachers refuse to consent to your expectation, politely but firmly insist that your children be moved into the classes of teachers who do not use curricula to advance their unproven philosophical, political, or moral beliefs. Do not allow your fear to result in acquiescence.” (I would also suggest that you tell all your teachers and the school principal this in WRITING!!! Otherwise, the teachers may well deny that you told them the above—my addition.)

I have been a government high school teacher and a government school board member. Some school systems in this nation have been captured by immorality and its supporters. If the above doesn’t work, talk to the school principal, the school superintendent, and the school board in that order. If you are not satisfied, PULL ALL your children out of the school system IMMEDIATELY!!! The SOUL SAVED may be your own child’s. NO GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE or GOVERNMENT ENTITY has the right to indoctrinate your children. And don’t look to the courts for relief. In many cases they are worse that the GOVERNMENT SCHHOLS!!! And with Barack Hussein Obama making federal judicial appointments, it will undoubtedly become WORSE not BETTER!

I have planned to write on government education for some time but have not had the time. I plan to say more at a later date. I posted this tonight because I just received it, thought it was very important, and didn’t want it to slip through the cracks as I discussed other issues. More at a later date, the LORD willing!!!
